As a combined team (husband and wife) they are phenomenal!!! I recently recommended Myers to a colleague who had a previous estimate that was outrageous compared to my experience with Myers .He has since hired them to install his generator!!!  + -1 moreGreg showed up the afternoon of my initial phone call to look at everything and provide an estimate for the work. We had a bunch of fried GFI outlets in our garage from a lightning strike and Greg was able to get the one critical outlet operating before he left. Greg returned a couple months later to perform the work (the hold-up was on our end as we needed to pick out and order ceiling fans). He showed up on time and replaced all the outlets and installed the ceiling fans. Greg was very friendly and all his work was clean and professional. We also had a small electrical "to-do" list that Greg tackled as well when he was here for a very reasonable add-on to his initial estimate. Overall, a fantastic experience and I would definitely use Meyer Electric again.
Description of Work: We hired Meyer Electric to replace a bunch of fried GFI outlets, install two ceiling fans, and do a few other small electrical tasks.

 + -1 moreCalled Meyer Electric & set up an appointment to come out & give us an estimate on installing a back up generator. We had gotten a couple of other estimates & his was the most reasonable. We asked him to order the generator, which they did. They were in contact with us each step of the way so we knew when the generator was going to be delivered & the appointment was made for the next day for them to come out & install it. As it happened on Friday, 2/8, we were expecting a blizzard to start early in the day. I thought we would possibly be put off until after the storm, but no-they were there early in the morning & got us hooked up so when the storm was over we were able to run the generator & stay warm. I cannot say enough good about these people and yes I would definitely call them again. As a matter of fact before Greg left I told him I had another job I wanted him to look at sometime in the near future. Another nice thing-on Monday after the storm I got a call from Karen to make sure everything had gone ok & find out if we had any questions."Thank you Karen & Greg"

Description of Work: The service man did a variety of small tasks for me. He fixed the front doorbell, changed out a smoke detector and diagnosed and fixed a defective wall outlet/switch. He was very pleasant and professional. The company responded quickly to my request for service. All in all a very good experience.

 + -1 moreFrom the very first phone call, this company was professional and extremely informative. Within minutes, a date was set for an estimate which occured within the week. The estimated was thorough and precise and explanations were provided for the work that was needed. The company was prompt and arrived with all that was needed to finish the work. Since new wiring was required in many places, we saw first hand how experts conduct themselves on difficult tasks. Exceptional workmanship and persistence made this a pleasurable experience. Wonderful, helpful and competent service.
Description of Work: Hard wired alarm system to bring up to code, added electrical outlets in garage and family rooms. They had to put electical wire in most all rooms where work was to be done.

 + -1 moreEverything went well, with the work completed on schedule and as promised. Greg did a great job adding a sub-panel with six circuits to the detached garage. He ran all new wiring from the main panel in the house to the new sub-panel. He also rewired a switch that had not been working at the garage entrance and added a GFCI receptacle and circuit. There was a trench required for the wiring from the house to the garage, and Greg offered a reduced price if we dug the trench ourselves, which we did. I was very satisfied with the work and the price.
Description of Work: I contacted Meyer Electric about adding a sub panel to my garage, since the lights in my house were flickering when too many tools were in use in the garage. Greg came out promptly to look over the situation and gave me an estimate the next day. Karen called me to schedule the service a few days later. They were both very professional and easy to talk to. We agreed on a date and time to have the work done a week or so later.

 + -1 moreKaren responded immediately to my e-mail and had some one come out and give me an idea of what size generator I would need. They were also nice enough to pick up and place the generator at the site. This process involved some back and forth because of difficulty with getting this size generator deliverd up a narrow, tree lined and inclined driveway. We finally decided on local pick up and delivery by them. During this time the respone to my questions were answered quickly and with patience. The installation went very well and the job was done effeciently and cleanly. Had a brush with a hurricane shortly afterward and the generator worked flawlessly. Any further electrical work I need will be done by them.
Description of Work: Had an estimate and complete install of home backp generator 20Kw. This model has an automatic transfer switch as well as a feature which exercises the engine weekly so that the gaskets and seals do not dry out and crack.

 + -1 moreHe showed up on time for both the estimate meeting and the actual installation appointment. He was right on target in terms of the price and on how long it would take to do the installation; so there were no strange surprises.
Description of Work: Greg installed a generator hookup for our house for backup electricity in case of a power failure. Greg spent a lot of time discussing options and solutions with me -- giving alternatives at various price points. We eventually settled on a manual solution (instead of an automatic failover solution) with the generator hookup in the garage and the switch panel near the fuse box in the cellar. Turns out that our house has a strange electrical layout and Greg spent some time thinking about how to best fit the generator into this layout. This was much appreciated. He also suggested a website where I should purchase my generator...again, this was much appreciated and probably saved me about $200-300.

He worked in the pouring rain because he knew I didn't have another day available. He even helped the hot tub guys when they delivered my hot tub. The cost of the hook-up was less than the estimate. Very professional and very pleasant. It was a good experience all around.

Greg was flexible and worked within our schedule vis-a-vis other contractors and the various arrival times of our lighting fixtures. He completed the work within the quote he has given us, apart from the additional work that we requested as the project progressed. We have nothing but good things to say about Meyer Electric - they were the highlight of our renovation project by far.
Description of Work: Greg installed a complete lighting scheme in our living room: chandelier, sconces, LED lights, three and four-inch recessed lights and switches/dimmers. The work was done per a quote, which was honored. We added more fixtures as the project progressed, and we mutually agreed to a fair and reasonably price for the extras. Greg worked carefully and methodically throughout the installation, running the wires through the walls and ceiling with the result that there was not one extra hole made - outstanding workmanship! He honestly cared about our home. Greg is professional, punctual, friendly, trustworthy (we had no qualms in giving him access to the house to suit his schedule while we were at work), neat...in short, everything you would want in an electrician and more. His wife, Karen, does all the the scheduling and billing. She is prompt in returning calls, scheduling appointments, and answering any billing questions. In addition to being a consummate professional, Karen is a really wonderful person with whom to deal. Greg and Karen make a fantastic team. Meyer Electric is absolute find - we would recommend them without hesitation. We will definitely use them for all of our electrical needs in the future.

Description of Work: I called Meyer Electric on 5/14/2012 in the certainty that I had some sort of serious electrical problem. They quickly gave me an appointment for the next day, 5/15/2012. On the evening of 5/14, they called me to say that perhaps my problem could be fixed easily and suggested that I try just switching out the light bulbs in the fixture. I stopped and bought bulbs on my way home from work (that's the $11.00 cost) and they were right. Problem solved! I called Meyer Electric to report that all was well and to thank them. They were friendly, courteous, responsive and more than helpful. They could easily have come out to my house and charged me but they deliberately had me try my own fix so that I wouldn't waste money. Thank you Karen (you too Greg)!

Description of Work: I called greg he came over to give me a quote we also had gotten 4 quotes from different electrical contractors Meyer electric was the best quote and after talking to Greg I felt he was best for the job.We had a pool installed and Greg did all the electric to bond the pool and motor for the pump he did a fantastic job i could not be happier with his job .When i called for the electrical inspection the inspector wanted the water bonded using a bonding plate in the skimmer basket i picked up the part and Greg come back over at no charge to install the bonding plate.He also made another trip to my home to install better covers over the new outdoor plugs he installed.He also replaced a burnt out receptacle outside at no extra charge.I would hire greg in a heart beat great guy who does great work .
