NEWPORT CLEANING & MAID SVC

Unfortunately, Newport Cleaning and Maid Service were unable to complete any of the services I had hired them for. I told the individual I spoke to on the phone when I initially hired them, that we had a large dog and that she would be home and around the house during the service. They assured me that this was not a problem, that all of their employees were use to working around dogs and were comfortable with them. I mentioned her once again outside the house and the owner, Charlie, tells me that the woman he had assigned to clean me house doesn't like dogs and is afraid of them. Once they came in, she could barely make it up the stairs because she was so afraid of my dog, who simply wanted to go greet them. The owner recommended that I tie her up in the garage or outside stating that most of their clients with dogs leave their dogs in the cellar when they come to clean the house. This DOES NOT make you a dog friendly business. He was not even happy with my simply leaving her in her crate, which is in our bedroom. To top it off, I was going to be home the entire time - they would never have been left alone in the house with my dog and she would have stayed with me out of the way, but they were unable to even try. To top it off, the owner became short with me and was totally disrespectful.

The woman who did the actual work was fantastic. She worked like a dervish for something like 3 hours. I had to get my apartment ready for an inspection by my landlord. I was not entirely crazy about the person at the company that I dealt with. He actually quoted me an estimate to come and then he significantly increased it. It was understandable that he increased it because it was a big job but I don't feel that he should have quoted me an estimate unless he was prepared to back it up in some way. He should have said, well, I need to look at it. I was planning on spending less money and then he almost doubled it. I liked the girl who cleaned, her name was Aries, and if I ever use them again I will request her. The company was reasonable to deal with but they did change the estimate which I was a little concerned about. The estimate itself was like $120 and then the job wound up being $200 so it was a significant amount of difference. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

I have been using them for a while, and they always do a good job. They bring all their own supplies and equipment, work hard, and provide a good service.

THEY ARE VERY PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE. THEY DO A SATISFACTORY JOB IN CLEANING. I THINK THE PRICE IS A LITTLE HIGH FOR THIS AREA THOUGH. I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR THEY COULD IMPROVE ON, THEY JUST DIDN'T DO A PERFECT JOB.
