+ 0 moreThe company did an appraisal of items in a recently deceased relative's estate and selected some items to put into auction. They were very thorough and patiently sifted through my relative's huge amount of stuff and explained their careful selection of the few items of potential value at auction. They recommended another person who could handle the estate sale of the incredible amount of remaining things. They were extremely kind when a relative asked for an item back that would not be sold at auction after all. They were great to work with and made an overwhelming experience fun.

+ -1 moreI pretty much did above. I was very satisfied. They made an appointment each time before coming.
Description of Work: Gustave J. S. White co. performed an estate sale for me at auction. They returned more than the estimated amount of the goods and only took a small commission. They came to my house to give an estimate of the items that I wanted to sell at auction. Murphy and Mike were professional. Many of the goods I sold were crystal and china items. They were professionally packed and taken to their place of business. They take a 15% commission on goods, but no commission on precious metals (silverware).

+ 0 morer pays an extra 15 Mike Corchoran was warm, friendly, and very professional. He was personable and dealt with my aging mother and her fickleness with kid gloves. He was almost bang on with estimates on how much we would make at the auction for each of the items. At auction he is very entertaining and quite affective in moving the merchandise. We received the check for our auctioned items within 4 days. His colleagues work like a smooth machine. I highly recommend the services of this Auctioneer Service.
Description of Work: The auctioneer came to our home to look at what we wanted to sell. He evaluated the merchandise, wrote us a signed receipt with the items and their approximate value listed. He took the items away. The company advertised the items in a publication that is sent out throughout southern New England. Ten days later the auction was held. The company keeps 10% of the earnings except for silver. With Silver, we got the entire price. The buyer pays an extra 15% for the silver. The company cut us a check and delivered it to our door (in the same town) within 4 days.
