I called to ask for a estimate on work and was told they are three weeks out . I said I’m not ready for 5 weeks can I get on the schedule she then told me she will take my info and pass it along . That doesn’t sound to promising to me thanks anyway .

It never went. I sent JD Mello a message, clearly explaining the service I needed, and seeking a return call (or return message). More than a week has gone by, with no response. I find it disappointing, to say the least, that a company with an A rating on Angie's List would be so uncourteous and unprofessional, as to not even respond to a request for service. If you're too busy, or not interested in doing the work, fine. Just communicate that.

If we were to go ahead with the repairs we would be using JD Mello, given the estimate experience and other recommendations. However because the property is rented, further discussions must be had with the property owner before we proceed.

Everything went great. Paul showed up on time. He relocated the two water lines quickly and ensured that the water to the kitchen sink was working correctly. He helped clean up the drywall that we created dust because we had just moved and didn't know where the broom was. He also looked at a second floor faucet for us and gave advice on how we could fix it. It was a 5 minute task that is greatly appreciated. On the second visit, he also arrived on time, called the city to get the water turned off at the street. He removed the second meter, installed new shut-off valves, check valve, expansion tank, and main riser. He called the city and had the water turned back on and made sure everything worked. Again he cleaned up after himself. The work looks great. We haven't had any issues. I haven't received the bill yet. I will update the review.

They showed up on time, saw what we needed done and then instead of giving us an estimate which I expected, they were all of a sudden just doing the work! The outside faucets went o.k., but they said the bathtub faucet that we have isn't used anymore & they'd replace it and hope for the best! At that point we had no choice, believe me. The house was built in 1988 & I know that the bathtub faucet is still in used today. They replaced it and it was fine for a time, but is leaking again. Drip, drip, drip.....

They are very good. The price was reasonable.

This was a fixed price toilet installation of a toilet we picked and supplied. The plumber replaced the phlange supplied by Kohler with a better quality one and took about forty-five minutes to install the toilet then he cleaned up. We had discussed the fixed price toilet installation at a previous service call because Newport's water rates are rising rapidly and we wanted a comfort height. We were able to cut our water usage considerably. They could have supplied a toilet but we wanted a specific model we got on sale at Home Depot. We have used J D Mello's for over a decade. They have a quick service call within a couple days for little jobs and longer scheduling for the larger jobs. They recommend another service for main sewer line problems. We highly recommend J D Mello Jr. Plumbing. They have greatly improved the plumbing of our old house over the years.

He was very professional and arrived on time. He fixed the problem and even looked at another problem to give me some feedback.

The man arrived on time, and even called a few minutes ahead of time to let me know he was coming. When I set up the appointment, they told it would should take about an hour or maybe a little more, and they charge $80 per hour. He was here just shy of 1 hour. He was on time, polite, and did a great job. The faucet looks very nice. I was ready to cut him a check, but he said they send the bill later. I got it today (1 week later) and it is for $80 (as quoted) plus $11.20 in materials. No surprises - very nice.

I live about 100 miles away and it is important to find someone who can work around my schedule and do the work when I am in the area. He was very flexible and worked around my schedule. He arrived when he said he would and completed the work in a timely manner. He cleaned up after himself and didn't trap any dirt into the house. Everything worked out very well and there were no problems.

Arrived on time, the service provider, Jack, introduced himself, and immediately went to work replacing the fill valve, flapper and float. Tested the installed equipment several time to listen for leaks and when 100% satisfied, finished the job. In and out in about a half hour. Great job and will call on them again.

They arrived on schedule and did work quickly. Their prices were lower than competitive plumbers.

He is very good and very professional. He was over to the rental property with in two days and switched out the water heaters. He was very prompt and he put a high quality water heater in. I trust him and the products that he has put in. He does a good job. I think his prices are in line with everyone else.

Joe Mello arrived to provide an estimate as scheduled. Joe took time to answer questions and explain how the Rough-in would be accomplished. I received a verbal estimate followed by a written estimate in about 2 days. The plumbers arrived at the scheduled time and began work immediately. The plumbers placed a cloth barrier on my floors so they did not track dirt across my carpets areas. They roughed in drain//waste/vents for my 2nde floor bathroom routing a 3-inch waste pipe, between existing 1st floor walls into my basement. In the basement, the waste pipe was installed and tied into my main line, so that it provides room to walk under it and does not interfere with anything. Their work was steady, efficient, and quiet and progress was apparent. At the end of each day, the work area was left in good conditions with all debris removed. I am very pleased with Mello Plumbing and plan to use them for the final fixture installation.

They are prompt and professional. They always do a good job. When they are coming out to do a job, you always know it is going to be done right.

I called and left a message, received a call back that same day, we scheduled the appointment, Paul the plumber who was sent was early and was clean and neat. He put back everything he had to take out from under the sink and cleaned up after himself. They had to come back after the electrician did some work for the dishwasher, I called them the morning of and they were able to fit me in that day. We are going to use them again in the fall to install a new boiler as we are converting from oil heat to electric.

Plumber responded to call immediately, explained problem. Within 24 hours he had everything up and running again. Even showed me how to check other radiators to see if air is in system and how to best treat rust stain in carpet.

They were fine and I have no complaints.
