In March, a winter storm badly damaged our roof. It needed to be replaced. Completely at a loss, I started searching for a roofing company. Never having done this before, it was a daunting task. Have you ever looked for a roofing contractor?? The BBB lists 387 contractors near our address! We got several estimates, and each one had something about it that was a deal breaker. Finally, a friend recommended A1 Roofing and Construction. I called them, and Sean Napolitano called me back immediately. Within a couple of days, Sean had someone come out and inspect the roof and see what was required. He came out to the house and sat down with me and went over the estimate, answering any and all questions I had. The estimate was concise, with no hidden issues. We agreed to go ahead with Early on the day of the appointment, a dumpster was delivered. The driver placed wood beneath it to protect the driveway, and placed it so that we could still get in and out of our garage. The crew arrived promptly at 7, and the work began. The front and the back of the house were tarped, as was our in ground pool. They even moved the deck furniture out of the way, just in case. They worked methodically and very professionally, with a project manager here the whole time. He answered my questions and pitched in with the crew to get the job done! This group worked well together, very efficiently. I have to admit, I was a little nervous at first. The yard was covered with all of the equipment and supplies that they needed to complete the job. I mean covered! I really didn’t need to worry… By 2:30, the job was finished. The crew was gone, and you never would have known they were here except for the beautiful (yes, beautiful!) new roof. Equipment and tarps were gone. The yard was in better shape than when they came! The yard furniture was put back. Not a shred of trash, a stray nail-nothing remained. About an hour later, A1 picked up their (now full) dumpster. The driver picked it up, packed up the wood it was sitting on, pulled the truck into the street, picked up any stray nails from where the dumpster was sitting, and blew off the driveway! Amazing! I would recommend A1 Roofing and Construction without reservation. The things that set them apart from the very beginning were; a very fair price, a complete explanation of what work was being performed both verbally and in writing, the 50 year warranty on the materials and the 12 year warranty on their workmanship, and, last but not least, their stellar reputation. The new roof looks great. It has Architectural Shingles that give the roof a look of depth. A1’s stellar reputation, in my eyes, is richly deserved. Thank you very much Sean Napolitano and Company! Work was performed in the same day as they scheduled it and it looks great! We will see this winter if there are any leaks or not...

This is the first time we rented a dumpster so was unsure how much we could direct the location of the dumpster, etc. We had wood to put under the dumpster to protect the driveway. When the dumpster arrived, the driver said they bring the wood with them. And when he picked it up, he took it back. I also watched him pick it up and he was extra careful with everything and even picked up some wood remnants off of our driveway that were remnants from when we were loading the dumpster. He then even used an air blower to further clear off the driveway. We were really satisfied! The dumpster was $280 but we went over the 1 ton so had to pay another $50 which was fine.

They show up with a big crew, The old roof is off in a few hours and the new one on well before dark. Property is left cleaner than when they started Roof looks great - we can't wait to finish painting the house!

The quote was a fair price compared to the other quotes we received. The date was set to start the job but was delayed to the following week because of weather. The roof was completed in 1 day. I had to call because there was an area where the roof pitch changes that did not look right but Sean had his guys come right out and correct it the day I called. The roof looks beautiful and we are happy with the work.

On the first day (Monday), 10 workers showed up. The old windows were removed and disposed of. By the end of the day, the 11 windows were in place. This included any rot removal and repair along the way. From Tuesday thru Thursday, two workers showed up to install the siding and gutters, while another two worked on the window details on the inside. Very skilled in their profession, the carpenters managed to copy the original framework on the windows -- the house was built in 1930. So all the new construction inside, matches the original wood work on the rest of the house. A-1 is the perfect example of team-work. Professionally trained in their specialities, they understand the value of time. None is wasted. Completely thorough in handling the details of each job. It was a pleasure to see these wonderful people transform an 80+ year-old house! All I can say is, Thank You!

We would definitely recommend this company. Other roofing companies had told us our job could take several weeks and that they would have to do it in sections. Sean told us his crew could finish the roof in 2 days and he was right. The difference was that A1 Roofing/Sean was committed to our job and wasn't trying to squeeze us in between other jobs like the other companies. They arrived on day 1 with approximately 8 roof workers, a man who did the copper work, another person to do the sky lights, an experienced painter and foreman to oversee the work. Everyone was great-very professional and hardworking. The roof, skylights and painting looks great and we are extremely happy with the results. Our neighbors were amazed at the quality of the work and how quickly they got the job done. Honestly-I can be very picky and hate dealing with home contractors most times. Sean and his crew were outstanding and I highly recommend them.

We contacted A1 Roofing and Construction after finding them on Angie's List. From the initial contact and scoping of the job we felt comfortable with the company. They were clear, thorough, and set reasonable expectations on cost and timing right up front. Once we decided to use them to do the roof, they booked the job quickly and began work in less than 2 weeks. The crew and foreman were polite and conducted themselves in a workman like manner. The job was completed in a day and came out beautifully. I would not hesitate to recommend Sean and his company to anyone in Rhode Island who needs a roof.

I had called seven different roofing contracters, of the seven only 4 responded. One quote was extremely low with no detail two were well detailed and the last was more the 2 times everyone else. Chose A1 because he was one of th e detailed quotes and good reviews over all. A1 also took the time to respond to negative reviews on Angie's list. Sean showed up on time Saturday to look at our roof. He measured the entire roof. While checking the roof it was suggested we also change out the skylight because of its age. Sean said he would work the quote and have it to us by Monday. Received a detailed quote Sunday morning via email followed by one in the mail. The quote included several options for skylights and blinds. Sean quickly responded to all questions via email. All in less than a day. The job. The crew showed up early on the day of the job. I was a little concerned as there were only 4 crew and one foreman. I never saw 4 people work so hard, they worked as a team and new exactly what each of their jobs were. They even took time to take down our flag fold it and place it in a safe location so it wouldn't get dirty. The roof and skylight were completed by 730 that evening. When they left that evening, you wouldn't of known they had been there except for the dumpster and the new roof. Even the neighbors were surprised. All debris and nails were picked up except for one 4x4inch piece that had slid under a chair. The dumpster was picked up the next day before 8 am. We now have a beautiful new roof and I have no concerns of my kids stepping on any debris. Oh and I love the rain sensor on the skylight that automatically closed when it started raining at 3 am, now if I had only remembered to close the sun roof in the car

Sean has been professional in every way. The zinc was installed promptly. He gave a quote and that was exactly the bill. It was a pleasure to do business with Sean (A-1 Roofing and Construction) and his company. We would not hesitate to use them again for any roofing or construction project. We highly recommend.

I can go overboard with planning big house projects... I got 5 separate companies to give estimates for my roof replacement, and did a ton of research into competing roofing products. I picked Sean because he was the most communicative, and GAF because they offered the best warranty. He always returned emails and calls promptly. His price was in the middle of all the estimates I received. I am really happy with my choice, my roof looks amazing. The team came in at 7am ready to work. 2 foreman and 6 other guys were on the roof the whole time. The finished up the entire job by about 5:30pm that same day. Stripping the roof took a few hours, then the ice/water and underlayment. They proactively mentioned to me which rotted roof decking needed to be replaced, and asked me if I wanted a cricked (raised hump to drain water) behind my chimney. I was billed no additional cost for this work. The shingles went up fast, and the job was crowned with 3 new ridge vents (2 were newly cut and installed) In the planning process, I picked an underlayment upgrade, extra ice/water shielding over my entryway, reflashing the chimney, gutter guards over certain gutters, and an upgraded 50 year warranty. Everything got done, and I didn't have to micromanage to make sure my specific requests were accommodated. I was also able to use the dumpster to toss in demolition'd framing and shingles from an old shed, and I had one of the guys pull up some roof decking so I could enter a closed attic space to run a new wire for a smoke detector. I did find a ton of nails around my property after the job, and am glad i did a walk-around and swept up my driveway before parking. Some plants were damaged, but nothing I am going to shed a tear about. After checking out the job and hopping up on the roof after they left, I had a concern about the way some of the drip edge was installed, and thought my ridge line looked a bit funny. Sean send another 2 guys out just to answer my questions and secure my ridge cap a bit more, which I greatly appreciate. I had a great experience with Sean, his guys, and A-1. This roof is going to last a long time, and i love coming home down the road and admiring it. Thanks Sean!

From my original contact to the time I made my decision Sean kept in contact with me. He started the job shortly there after. The job was done in a very timely manner. My site manager inspected the roof and was pleased with the job. The whole experience was pleasant and professional.

I contacted A-1 Roofing to get an estimate on having my roof replaced. They returned my call immediatly and gave me a thorough and professional estimate. I appreciated that they did not require me to take time off of work for them to do the estimate. I ended up choosing another company as the other company gave me a better price.

Sean and his crew were EXTREMELY professional, the price was great and they did the roof in 1 day and cleaned up the site to a pristine condition. I would HIGHLY recommend Sean and his crew to friends and neighbors.

Sean contacted me right away and came out immediately to provide an estimate. Work date was scheduled and two of Sean's carpenters arrived and did all the work in two days. It came out beautifully, the workmanship was outstanding. Everything was cleaned up and tidy. The price Sean gave was excellent. These guys are a find.

They were awesome and I give them the highest grade. I contacted them and they came right away. They gave me an estimate that had all the requirements I was looking for. I had a previous estimate which was twice as much. The materials were delivered on time and they started work and finished on time. Brian was fantastic. Their work was beautiful and guaranteed. Anybody with this type of work should just call them.

Where do I begin ... I have nothing but good things to say about A-1 roofing & construction. The replaced my entire roof within a day and at a reasonable price. Sean was beyond great very helpful and professional. The crew did such a great job. Everything was cleared and cleaned but the time I returned home. I will absolutely recommend this company :)
