I found Bob on a site on which he pays a membership fee to be on. I am not sure of the source of the reviews on this site. I had him look at an exterior trim job and hired him on the spot (against my better judgement) due to his immediate availability. He arrived late with excuse in hand. Although he brought his entire trailer, which was extremely dis organized, he was lacking several important tools including an air compressor, which is a key part of a trim install. Of the tools he did have, many of them were either broken or of extremely low quality (home depot). Not long after the work was completed I found that it was done incorrectly ie: using 18ga pin nails to fasten cedar clapboard siding, and not replacing an extremely worn drip cap. All of this aside, I had expressed interest in remodeling an area of my home. I asked him to prepare an estimate, assuming that there would be no charge. To my surprise a check he had requested to purchase materials was taken as a deposit for work that I had not agreed too. After several phone calls and written correspondence I finally received a check . Also, he made several inappropriate comments referencing personal issues and saying: "once people see a little of my work, they want more!" Between his shoddy work, shady character, lack of professionalism, lack of proper knowledge, and lack of quality tools I would most definitely not recommend him

The owner, Bob Carvalho, responded quickly, arrived promptly, and provided a detailed proposal the next day. We hired him over 4 others, based on his professionalism, reasonable cost, and a strong recommendation from the local painting company we used, and who had worked on other job sites with him previously. Bob did not disappoint, delivering quality work on time and on budget; was flexible in meeting deadlines allowing us to move forward with the house painting project; and, coordinated and worked well with the painters to address other issues uncovered during painting preparation work. He also noticed a couple of other minor problems around the house that he resolved at very little additional cost. Bob is a very personable guy, too, and we would definitely hire him again. We?ve already recommended him to neighbors.
Description of Work: Partial replacement of cedar wood siding, remove/install three attic vents, and remove/install one garage entry door, prior to our repainting the house.
