We chose Elaine to be our real estate agent after interviewing 2 other agents. She had ~25 years of experience and as first time home buyers she promised to walk us through the process and teach us about real estate along the way. She worked with us for 2 hours to find potential houses, going over neighborhoods that we would like even before we decided to use her as our agent. She knew the neighborhoods just from the street names, telling us what neighborhoods consistently performed well before we even decided to use her as our agent. She quickly sized up what what sorts of houses we would probably like, but didn't really express her opinion until we asked. Even then she answered us telling us the pros and cons. We had late night emails from her with houses that we might be interested in. She went to our home inspection with us even though she had just had hand surgery. We had quite a bit of negotiating even after our offer was accepted. Elaine negotiated almost nonstop for a month to handle all the issues that came upi. I think with a less experienced agent the deal might have fallen apart, but she worked really hard to get the house we wanted at a fair price. She was extremely professional throughout and worked extremely hard. Her work ethic was apparent from the start and we figured if we were paying the same amount for whatever agent we picked we should pick the one that would work the hardest for us. We would definitely use her again...but I'm pretty sure she helped us find the perfect house.
Description of Work: Elaine worked with us for about 2 months in finding a house. We were searching as far north as Warwick and East Greenwich and as far south as South Kingstown. We were traveling from Cape Cod to Rhode Island every weekend and after the 3rd weekend we found a house and made an offer on a house in Kingston. Our offer was accepted, but we had some additional negotiations to have repairs made and there was a reduction in the original asking price. Elaine worked really hard with the seller's agent, the bank through which we got our mortgage, a contractor to make repairs, the appraiser and the home inspector to get seal the deal. We closed a week ago and she has called to check up on us to make sure we were ok.
