Two guys with a truck met us at the PODS storage location so we could clean out a pod container. They were very nice, loaded everything into the truck, and even waited for us while we finished sorting stuff. It seemed a little expensive, but I don't have anything to compare it too.

If you have a lot of items to dispose of someone should be present to make sure everything you want removed is taken.
