They arrived late, complaining he did not know what the job entailed and may not have the parts, asked us for screws and never finished the tub spout. He left an open pipe with no threaded connector. We had to call another plumber to finish the job since we received no response from the owner. New plumber had to redo/relocate the work that Joe did, he had recessed the mixing valve too far away from the shower wall. Never ever use this company, always verify the company before you use them!!! We learned the hard way.

I called Carbone plumbing and heating with some issue with my boiler. Rick diagnosed the problem and quoted me 400$ for the job to fix it. He had all the information required to give me a quote e.g. part price. I agreed with it, no time did he mentioned that it was an estimate. After replacing the part, he gave me the bill of $594 which is a rip-off. Nothing new came up after he gave me the quote, it was a standard uneventful replacement. He argued that originally, he estimated it incorrectly. He charged me 375$ for 3 hours of labor which included his 1 hr. travel time to get the part and 219$ for the part. The part price is 100$ in home depot, 119 $ markup is Ok if you do not charge for a travel time, but when you are charging me 125$ for your travel time, then markup price in unethical. In any case, if he gave me a quote of 400$, he should respect that. I paid him whatever he asked for because I do not like drama. By charging me extra 200$, he lost a customer for a lifetime.

I was left with a leaking faucet and charged for this plumber not keeping his own stock of plumbing supplies(basic stainless steell drain basket) I called the owner Bernie who said all plumbers were doing this, i.e. charging their customers for travel to and from their specific plumbing supply stores to get parts as needed regardless of traffic delays, breaks etc. regardless of whether their were plumbing supplies closer to home and claiming that home depot and lowe's were only for home owners to shop at and they chose to shop for parts out of a city far from my home. He also stated shopping at Home Depot and Lowes were not places that contractors (at least plumbing contractors) shopped at. These stores were just for purchasing lumbar? . When I asked if there was a charge once I went out to but the faucet sytsem, I was told the following: I was told that I would again be charged $ 95/hour since, after I went I to buy the faucet system which they said they could not get out of their Pawtucket RI plumbing store ,it would take an hour to install a new faucet system. Bernie Carbone owner of the Carbone Plumbing and Heating said he did not think his policy was ripping of the public and that he had left a service call /the job unfinished. Mr. says everybody is doing business like this!
Description of Work: He came out to fix a leaking faucet and leak under the sink pan. He said diagnosed the problems. This took 10 minutes and then said he had to go get the parts. He was gone approximately one hour and spent a quarter hour under the sink repairing and told me the faucet drip was due to water tension that was causing the leaking faucet and there was nothing he could do about it. Then after I reiterated what I had reported on my phone call for service, he said it was my faucet handles that had deteriorated and since the company he contracted with did not get their parts at Home Depot or LOWE's,I would have to go get a new faucet system myself and call them back for installation. He charged me 2 hours of tome for the 1 1/2 hours of time he spent diagnosing, driving to Pawtucket, RI and back for the place where they buy their parts, and 15 minutes of repair work which failed to include the the repairing of my faucet.I was never told I was supposed to pay for time to go get stock.

Well they had somebody who was a specialist in oil boiler and another who was not certified. So after inspection we had to have another company do cleanup. So other customers should be aware that they can say they are going to bring another specialist but fail. They need to be careful dealing with this company.
Description of Work: There was a plumbing service that I used. The owner of the company is bony Carbone. I used them around January 2011. They charge us around 5000 dollars. They were replacing our oil boiler with a gas boiler.
