I get my furnace tuned up every fall. He came out the day before Thanksgiving which was a warm day. He worked on the furnace and asked for payment. I let him know that my would pay by check when she gets home. The home got warm so I adjusted the temp. twice. The lowered the temp to 45 degrees and the house was still uncomfortably warm. I checked the furnace and it was burning up, I called the company back and asked him to come back out. The service provider was rude and told me that it was hot outside and that if I wanted him to come back out it was going to costs extra since it is close to Thanksgiving. I let him know that I would not pay him another dime since I contracted him to do a tune up and once he left the unit has been worse off than it was before he got here. He threatened me with a lawyer and hung up the phone. I left the house for a short while, while I was out he called back and told my wife that he knew what was wrong and that he would be over shortly. He came in and my wife watched him walk right over to the furnace and pull a lever. That fixed the issue and my wife paid him for his work. I do not know for a fact but I do believe he was trying to hustle me out of more money. He thought that mentioning a lawyer would scare me into paying him more. I think that he got nervous when I didn't budge and by the fact that I was not home when he called back.
