La Brosse chimney/ Chimney Wise

I would highly recommend La Brosse Chimney for any chimney work you may need! John La Brosse and his son are very passionate about their work and were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They were great about answering our many, many questions. All work was completed in a timely manner and they were extremely careful to keep the area neat and clean. I would definitely hire them again!

Prompt, efficient service, John knows everything there is to know about chimneys.Because the chimney had been originally been installed using wooden interior braces, additional insulation was needed. Further work that needs to be done includes extending chimney to required code height, recrowning cement on top and rejointing the lower existing portion that is above the roof line. This will cost an additional fee of approximately 3200.00. This is to be followed by the application of Chim-Saver to preserve and protect this part of the project. A top-mount stainless steel chimney cap , at approximately 575.00 will complete the job. I have not been able to afford to finish to finish the project yet, but I'm sure it will be well done if and when that time comes. These are 2012 prices - probably higher by now.

John made it easy to schedule an appointment. He was able to make the appointment in a short time frame. He came to our appointment a bit early, which was great for our tight schedule. John pointed out several issues with the chimney and furnace in the house we are considering buying. He not only performed the inspection, but he educated us on how things should look and function. John even took time to show us how to do some basic maintenance. He took time with us to explain the issues and made sure we understood. He is extremely knowledgeable as a licensed chimney inspector. He definitely saved us a lot of money, and possibly prevented a fire hazard, with his inspection. We would definitely recommend him!

We built a new house and hired Spence masonry to build the chimney. At the inspection by the town inspector, he noticed that the chimney was defective. We took Spence to the Contractors Board, we won the case and Mr. Spence paid us to take the chimney down that he built and paid for a new chimney to be built. We hired LaBrosse Chimney, now Chimney Wise and the chimney is perfect. SInce that time, Mr. LaBrosse has also solved our furnace problem by working with our furnace repair company. Mr. LaBrosse has extensive experience and is very passionate about his profession. We highly recommend him for chimney repair and sweeping.

Very well. Very professional, easy to work with, explained everything in detail. Completed work on time with no problems. I am having John come back to complete additional work that could not be done in the cold/snow. I recommend John for anyone in need of chimney work.

Awesome. Extemely knowledgeable of all combustion and ventilation issues in the house that contribute toward an efficient fire. Spend 10 minutes with John and you will find out there is probably nobody more knowledgeable in the above subjects.Reccommendation on a purchase place (no incentive to them) and several good brands of stove from which to pick. Installed stove insert, cap and liner....started fire and demonstrated how stove works (even though he didn't sell it to me) and called back the next day to make sure everything was working properly. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. Will be using them in the spring for a furnace liner install and a chimney rebuild....Although I need a chimney rebuild (30 year old masonry is cracked), he deferred the project until the temperature is more conducive to a masonry project to avoid cracking from the cold. This demonstrates to me that they want to get things right for the homeowner, not just make the quick $.
