 + 0 moreBrian helped me move boxes that were blocking the tank unit. He jokingly commented on the amount of "stuff" and electronics we have.I felt I had to explain that it was several houses' worth of stuff and that most of the electronics didn't work. He made another comment about getting rid of the broken items and I felt it best to just laugh with him (even though I was embarrassed.) I decided not to tell him that my dad had lived with me but passed away a year ago and a lot of the stuff was his. This is why he earned a B for professionalism. As I paid Brian for the great service, I asked him if he fixes sewing machines, and he does. I showed him my 2 old Berninas, both with the same problem, and he sat and fixed both of them (I had put in the hook wrong - twice!) in five minutes! And he didn't charge me! Thanks, Brian! Now I can vacuum and sew to my heart's content.
Description of Work: I requested a service visit and Brian actually troubleshoot(ed?) the problem with my central vac over the phone to potentially save me $89! It turned out I needed him to come down to EG from Greenville anyway because I knew several of the outlets weren't working at all. He was able to schedule a visit within a week. Brian first tested the outlets, then went in the basement and cleaned out the tank. He graciously left the bag of refuse in the basement because he didn't want to track dust all through the house. He said it didn't look like it had ever been cleaned out. All works now!

Description of Work: Removed, repaired and reinstalled central vac (circa 1970s)--replaced motors. Extremely knowledgeable, reliable, professional, and reasonably priced (explains cost breakdowns for labor and parts--and does not upcharge). Highly recommended!

 + -1 moreJust a side note: while I was "waiting my turn" in the shop, I witnessed several other interactions between the proprietor and his customers. On one occasion, he tinkered with a vacuum, installed a minor part, and sent the patron home with no charge. This is good, old fashioned service. Although Greenville may seem remote, it's actually very accessible, especially from Providence. Took me about 15 mins. from my home near PC.
Description of Work: I brought a 10-yr-old vacuum in for service. The owner was friendly and helpful. Since he had to disassemble the vacuum to perform the repair, he offered to charge me for a tune up(in lieu of the labor charge for service)and parts for the repair. The tuneup, which the vacuum needed anyway, was $49, the parts came to $8. Not only did the proprietor not try to up-sell me to a more current model(which he sells out of the shop)but he encouraged me to believe I might even get another 10 years from my current vacuum! I brought the vacuum in on a Saturday, it was ready on Monday.
