KWIK PLUMBING

Initially it seemed that it was going to go well with timeline, we were able to have the Gas Company move up the date to bring the gas lines to the house, expedited because of spouse's health issues. Once we signed the contract with Kwik Plumbing, they were continually unreliable, wouldn't return calls about when the job would be started, when they would come to the house, they only did fractions of the work and said they had other jobs that they needed to go to, it would be several days before we'd hear from them. The job took alot longer than we would have liked. As a paying customer, we expected better service and responsiveness. Thermostat was wired incorrectly causing the house to read over 85 degrees, tried to contact them and no replies for 2 days. We had to have an electrician fix the problem which cost us.

They were efficient.

Our sewer line was backing up into our basement sink (gross). Originally happened on a Sunday, and Kwik was on call through the city emergency service. When they came on Sunday, they advised us to try to have the line snaked by the city first, since that was free. They didn't charge at all for that visit. On Monday, the city came, but couldn't find the exterior clean out cap for the sewer line because of all the snow, so we called Kwik back, and they snaked the whole line, through the trap, and all the way to the street, resolving the issue. They weren't sure they were going to be able to get through the trap, but they did, which was fortunate, since the problem was on the other side. What originally was going to be $350, ended up being $450 since they had to go so far. While the whole thing could have been resolved for free if they city could have just done it themselves from the outside, since that wasn't possible, we were thankful that Kwik was able to fix the issue. I think this is a fair price, but we weren't really in a position to get multiple bids. We had originally called Roto Rooter, and they were going to charge $450, but that was before they knew they were going to have to go all the way to the street.

The job was an unplanned job, so it took a while for the plumbers to have time to do the work, although they implied they might be available before they were. The work was done quickly, but now the toilet handle has to be held down for 5-10 seconds for the toilet to flush properly

They removed all the asbestos pipes that were present, the oil tank and all the existing pipes. They replaced it with a gas furnace and even got rid of all the radiators and installed baseboard heat. There were 3 people and they mostly had to wait for the furnace to come in. It took them about 3 or 4 days and I must say that they worked really clean and fast.
