Dan showed up to "assess the situation" during a pool Reno. It was agreed upon that all electrical work needed to be redone. No argument there. I asked him how much for the entire job...he verbally gave me a price that was within reason according to our pool builder. I asked him to give us the estimate in writing. He never did. He showed up multiple times, and to my disbelief when the pool was filling realized that none of the actual work had been done yet! Just underground pipes were laid ( which was also an issue as I had to question the proper depth of the pipes to meet code. Had I not questioned this, they would have been directly under the cement). Now our pool is filling and the pump isn't yet hooked to electric. He sends a couple of guys that day to complete the job. All is fine. I ask his "guys" If They have my invoice for final payment they say no that Dan will bill me. Ok, fine. 6 months later i get a bill for DOUBLE his quote. Upon questioning him, he feeds me some bologna about he made a mistake at the time of our verbal quote and thought he had already sent me a bill for the time he came out to "figure out the mess we had" and that his quote was in addition to the first bill, which he NEVER sent. So, if "figuring things out" costs $1800, than h*** has frozen over. The fact that he never gave us a written estimate, quoted half the price and didn't mention the non existent first bill when I asked for a quote, than waited 6 months to bill us, is not only unprofessional but unethical. After questioning him on the phone about his practices of giving customers half quotes, and never giving them a written estimate, he agreed to take $500 off our bill...that he would send us our new bill via email. Never did. I even sent him our email address, no bill with the adjusted total. So, we paid the full amount. Becuase now, if I sent him a check minus the $500, he would say we only partially paid him. If he was honest...he would have sent us back $500. He didn't do that either. 3eThis guy is as shady as they come. It appears he's been to court before and won for the same shady practices. Contractor is always right in RI. He won because nothing was in writing! Don't let him touch a thing until you have the total job in writing. I would ask him if his quote is for the total job...you might want to get that in writing, too. In fact, i would write down each time he comes to your home, what he did that day , and how much time he spent there. We had no electrical trouble with our pool last summer but if we do in the future, it isn't going to be him we call to fix it! He says everything is guaranteed, but he'll probably make up some excuse to send us another bill. All set with him! We have only dealt with honest contractors in the past, and never expected this from him. There are many other Electricions out there.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB WITH THE ELECTRICAL WORK. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE WORK THAT THEY DID FOR US. THE ONLY COMPLAINT WE HAD WAS THAT IT TOOK THEM AWHILE TO RESPOND TO OUR INITIAL CALL BUT THEY ARE A VERY BUSY COMPANY.
Description of Work: THEY DID ALL THE ELECTRICAL WORK ON THE NEW ADDITION WE PUT UP.
