Description of Work: My basement was flooded. I have used Malone Plumbing before and been satisfied with their work so I called them again. Tom Malone was here within the hour and informed me of the problem. The nearly 100 year old clay sewer pipe inside the house had broken sending sewage directly into the basement every time any water in the house was run, including the toilet. There was a lot of storage in the basement that needed to be moved and the inner wall removed before they could get to the pipe. I was thinking I would try to do this myself, but Tom was very clear that I should not go near the "water" or anything that the "water" had touched. I didn't think my homeowner's insurance covered anything to do with water damage, but Tom was sure they would and that I should call them. He was right. The damage done by the break was covered. I was responsible for fixing the plumbing. A disaster clean-up company handled the cleanup and removed the wall. As soon as this was done Tom came back. It was clear looking at the now visible pipe that it was totally rotten. Tom took the measurements and figured the cost of replacing almost all of the drainage pipes which were also rotten, in addition to the sewer pipe, before he left ($2600). The work began later that day and was completed the next day. There was a blockage in the outside sewer pipe which they spent considerable time unblocking at no further expense. They were unable to hook up the basement sinks which were original to the house and served as the drainage for the clothes washer, because the fittings were rotten. They returned the next day and removed those sinks and replaced them with a plastic sink while also creating a separate drain for the washer. This was an additional job and a quote for that had been provided the day before ($1700). This second job proved to be much more involved than they originally thought, taking far more man hours. Even so, they did not charge me any more than the original quote. Tom was patient, professional, and direct in explaining the original sewage issue. I felt complete trust in what he said and the quality of the work that would be performed. I spoke with Jim on the phone several times and he was respectful and direct, doing things quickly and doing what he said he'd do when he said he'd do it. There were several different plumbers that worked on the 2 jobs. Justin and Nestor were the senior team members in addition to Tom and kept me informed of what was happening. Again, they were professional and respectful. Malone Plumbing made what was a pretty horrendous experience for me, as easy as was possible. I have dealt with several plumbers over the years. This is the only company that I would ever use again. It is reassuring to know that I have someone trustworthy and competent I can call when those sudden plumbing issues occur...or for less urgent service. Unfortunately, I have another job that will need to be done soon!

Description of Work: My hot water heater began to leak at an inopportune time, on the weekend and as I was about to go away on vacation. I called Malone and they assessed the situation by phone. They went out of their way to save me money, assuring me that the heater would be o.k. for a few days and therefore I could get it fixed on a less expensive weekday, saving weekend over-time charges. They should up as promised, they were prompt and professional, and they charged me hundreds less than my neighbor paid for the same equipment and service. I chose them because of their excellent rating on Angie's List and following my experience I came to understand why they were held in high regard.

Description of Work: I had to replace an old washing machine. On the day of delivery, a Saturday, I attempted to remove the hoses from the faucets and discovered they were rusted on. In a panic, I called Malone. They advised me there would be a premium for using them on a Saturday. I really didn't care at that point. The machine was being delivered in less than 2 hours. I don't remember the service provider's name but he came quickly, removed the hoses in a couple of minutes, and asked if I'd like the faucets replaced. He told me it was not necessary but that the old faucets were in pretty bad shape. For the minor cost of the new faucets I had new faucets ready for the delivery people to attach the new washing machine. The experience was totally positive. I have an issue right now that needs a plumber and I will be calling Malone to deal with it.

Description of Work: I have called on Malone plumbing several times now to make repairs to my aging upstairs bathroom. They are responsive, courteous and fair-in-price. They always explain to me exactly what they are doing and take extra time to double-shoot issues if I ask them too. They are a reliable company to work with!

Description of Work: This is the plumber I use. They show up promptly, and are very responsive. I feel comfortable leaving them in the house alone, and they fix the problem and leave things clean. My only word of warning is the price...which seems high. Perhaps this would be the case with most plumbers, but $300+ seemed a lot to replace a toilet flapper and fix a shower when no additional parts were needed.

Description of Work: They fixed multiple clogged drains and pipes. Some were filled with sewage. |They came back many times and are here today. They are very responsible, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They do not push to do work unless it's absolutely needed.

Description of Work: I had several plumbing jobs that I needed done. I needed to have a pipe replaced, a valve replaced, a toilet resat, a drain snaked, an outside faucet that leaked badly and an aerator replaced for faucets that had no water pressure. They arrived at 8am, ran into problems when they replaced the valve, still were done before noon and on estimate. I will definitely call them the next time I need plumbing done.

Description of Work: Didn't end up using them because their quote was so much higher than the other two quotes I got. Tom, the owner, was always responsive and professional but the quote was significantly higher than two other A rated companies to replace our boiler so we went with someone else. Also, when I called to ask for details on the quote, whomever I spoke with was not helpful or professional, but I know Tom would have been. I'm sure the work would have been performed well, it was just too high of a quote.

Description of Work: Malone replaced our leaking sewer pipe. They're assessment was clear and their manner professional. They were flexible in setting appointments and follow-ups.

Description of Work: Unblocked a side line. It was two days after Thanksgiving and the tub and kitchen sink wouldn't drain. I called them and they returned the call promptly. They explained the rates and even told me that if I wanted to wait until Monday it would be cheaper. They came when they said they would and did a very professional job. There was no mess after the man left. They called me twice in Monday to let me know that I had been charged too much and that they were sending me a check. I was very very satisfied and would definitely use them again. I highly recommend them.
