I got five estimates. John's price was very reasonable and he was able to schedule the job pretty quickly. Everything went very well. He had to change the outlet box for one of the ceiling fans and snaking the wire for the new spotlight was more difficult then expected but he did not charge extra. In fact, he was going to discount the price because I supplied the wire for the new lamppost. I paid him the full amount because he did such a good job. A few days after the installation, there was a burning smell coming from the ceiling fan/light in the kitchen. I called John and he came right away. He found a label inside the light fixture with information on the maximum bulb wattage had peeled off and was in contact with the bulb causing the smell. He removed the label and did not charge for the extra visit. I will use him in the future for any electrical needs that I have. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Ran wire and installed a new spotlight, connected wire for new lamppost, installed a grounded outlet and installed two new ceiling fans.

The project went very well. See above for details.
Description of Work: I had an electrical circuit fail. This circuit was for the downstairs bathroom, the outside porch lights, and one light in the basement. John, along with I, spent five hours trouble shooting the cause. He applied an excellent analytical approach to the problem, which was very difficult because the house was built in 1970 and the wiring is unknown to me and unintuitive. We tried many things. In the end he discovered that an outside receptacle had a corroded neutral wire. This allowed one outlet of the receptacle to work, while all of the others in the circuit failed. He spent five hours on this project, never gave up, even though the solution was elusive. He applied excellent problem solving technique. John was a pleasure to work with. a very nice person, and I plan on using him for any other electrical work I need. I believe his rate is very fair for the service he provided. I don't remember exactly what it was; he offered me a discount, but I paid him his full rate because I felt he did a great job.

John was very professional. Arrived as scheduled on very hot day. Spent quite a bit of time tracing down the source of the dead circuit. Finally had to cut thru the garage ceiling tile to find the problem. A wire was shorted in one of the electrical boxes hid in a corner of the ceiling. Did a good job.
Description of Work: Had a circuit of lights out in my garage. Could not find the source, even though all breakers were set. Had to trace the wiring which was more of a time consuming job rather that anything seriously electric.

Very professional and knowledgeable electrician. Completed a lot of electrical problems for a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Older house with lots of electrical issues: old wires that needed to be cut off, ungrounded plugs, limited outlets, new electrical panel needed, new lights installed inside and outside.
