Herb is a really good guy, very upbeat and professional, and knows his stuff.

We spent about $700. I thought he was a nice guy and he did a good job. He was very friendly and people-person kind of guy. He was very much a local. He was a real nice guy. I will use this company again in the future.

Herb quoted us a flat price (in writing) to do the work, and we discussed the cabinet installation, counter tops (to be done by the granite company) and the finish work, which included installing the sink and plumbing underneath. Everything went OK, with respect to the work. It took him a very long time to get the cabinets installed. He claimed it was b/c his "helper" wasn't available and our house was very crooked, so he was working alone at leveling the cabinets. Despite this peculiarity, everything seemed to be fine. When he finished the bottom cabinets, we called to have the granite company deliver / install the counters. They came a couple of days later, and were in and out without a problem. When we called Herb back to finish his part, he said he would come back in a day or two. After he finished, he says "OK, that'll be $250 for today." When we objected, he said (paraphrasing) " I just assumed you knew that it would be extra - I can't take this truck out for less than $100" We asked where on his estimate said that it would be extra to have him come out to finish the work, and he gave us some mumbo jumbo about it not being itemized on the estimate, so it wasn't included. However, we pointed out that NOTHING was itemized on the estimate. Bottom line: Herb did a decent job, but wanted to soak us for a couple hundred extra bucks. When we objected, he backed off a little. But, it wasn't worth it - we paid him what he asked for and got rid of him. We wouldn't trust him to let him back in our home.

He was prompt. Started on time and stayed until the job was done.

Over all it went ok. I had to take a day off from work to start the job. I was told it would take a couple of days. Because he had to put new drywall up,compound,wait to dry, sand, compound etc. I was told that I wouldn't be able to tell where the work was done. It would all blend in. He didn't compound, sand, as much as he said he would. When he finished the work, I had to call him back because I could see where the patch job was and he painted the ceiling with a high gloss and the rest of my ceilings are flat paint. He did come back and corrected the problem and repainted ceiling.-

HE PICKED UP A CHECK FOR $3000.00 THEN DOESN'T SHOW FOR 2 DAYS ! HE COMPLAINED THE WHOLE TIME ABOUT BLOWN IN INSULATION. HE WOULD TAKE 3 HOUR LUNCHES !! HE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF US, KNOWING THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD ONLY GIVEN US 7800.00 AND WE PUT IN 700.00. HIS TRUCK BROKE, HE WANTED MONEY, HE HAD TO PAY HIS TAXES AND HIS MORTGAGE HE WANTED MONEY! HE LEFT THE JOB UNFINISHED !! HE DIDN'T DO THE FINISH WORK ON MY FRONT DOOR, WHICH HE HUNG CROOKED OR HANG UP THE MOLDING IN MY LIVING ROOM. DID A SLOPPY JOB PAINTING, DRIP MARKS ALL OVER THE LIVING ROOM ON MY MOLDINGS.HE TOLD ME THE STORAGE CONTAINER WAS PAID FOR IN MY DRIVEWAY,HE WENT 2 WEEKS OVER FOR HIS TIME TABLE, WHICH THREW OFF MY OTHER WORK THAT WAS BEING DONE IN MY HOUSE SO I COULDNT PUT MY FURNITURE BACK IN MY LIVING ROOM. NOW THE STORAGE COMPANY IS TELLING ME THERE IS AN UNPAID BALANCE! HERB WAS AWARE OF THIS !! I CALLED HIM LAST WEEK, ON THE EVENING OF MAY 28 AND LEFT HIM A MESSAGE. HE NEVER CALLED BACK, SO I CALLED HIM ON JUNE 1ST AND SPOKE WITH HIM , AND HE TOLD ME IF I DIDN'T HEAR BACK FROM HIM IN A WEEK, TO CALL HIM BACK. SO HERE IT IS 1 WEEK LATER, AND I LEFT HIM ANOTHER MESSAGE !!

I found Herb on Angie's List. He answered the phone the first time I called. He arrived to give me an estimate when he said he would. He arrived on time to do the actual work

I will call him with ANY issues he can do. He was able to do the work in a timely manner at a very fair price!

Herb was the most professional handyman I have ever used; he sacrificed some speed to get the job done right. He was very knowledgeable about construction options and the best way to proceed. He completed the job for the dollar and time amount he initially initially estimated.

I wanted new lighting in my bathroom. After calling 3 other "handymen" from Angie's List without a return call back, Herb was the only one who actually answered his phone. Herb always answers his phone, which is a HUGE plus. Very professional. Lighting is beautiful. I'd use him for other home projects in a heartbeat. The only problem is he's in high demand. I can certainly see why! Great job.

On a whole, it went very well. There was a small problem with swelling of doors but, Herb came back and repaired them in a responsible manner.

It went fine just as he indicated it would. We are happy with the result. The shower works fine and bathroom didn't require an entire remodel.

I called Herb on a Tuesday, he came around the next day to assess the work. The following day he returned with a list of the work to be done and a price. He started work the next Monday and completed most of it by Tuesday. We had to wait until the following week for the new shed doors to arrive. Herb returned on Wednesday and completed the job. Herb and his partner are very courteous and professional. They always call before they arrive to do any work. They clean up after themselves and take away unwanted debris. A very good experience all round. We had asked Herb to quote us on another project.

He had to work with my mistake of putting countertop in before faucets attached, but we joked about it; final result was that water would not flow through water pipes, but that was internal problem (rust buildup?), not his. Have to call a plumber after all. I didn't ask for an estimate as I had to have the work done and knew I would have to pay what he charged. It was more complicated than we both thought.

From beginning to end, Herb was incredibly professional. He was hardworking, took great care to make sure everything was done correctly. He discussed all the steps with us, gave us a range of $700-900 for an estimate and came in evenly at $800. The job took several days and he carefully cleaned up each evening and made sure we'd be able to use the shower before he came the next day. Herb is a man of his word: always came when he said he would, always called when plans needed to be changed. Clean cut and good attitude. We are very happy and he'll be back to work on a few more things in the house.
