Called and spoke with a man who was rude. Said he would call me back to set up a day to look at the a/c. He never called back

Tech wasn’t the friendliest on the phone, or in person. He came out a little later than expected but not bad for a service call (~30 minutes late). Diagnosed the issue in no time. Didn’t have the igniter on hand so had to run to a parts store. Came back and fixed it pronto. He was working the problem for 75 minutes but at least 30 of that he was off getting the replacement part. The part that gets me is the price: $350 to replace a part that cost $20 and took an hour of work? When I balked at the price he didn’t offer a breakdown of the cost. Called back and got 10% off for being an Angie’s List customer, but still. A gross hourly rate of $200+ is absurd.

They were professional, courteous and worked very quickly, making sure we never had to be without hot water or heat especially at this time of the year, February. Everything was stated in their contract, fully explained before the work began and they did everything it listed, including the removal of the old units. They arrived promptly each day as scheduled and they always cleaned up the work area before leaving. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Always available, always dependable, most times fixed the same day! Being a single mother it is often intimidating when trying to find reliable help. I have called on Mr. Barlow and his experienced team for approximately 3 years for various issues. Call back is immediate and the response time has never taken more than 24-48 hours for services to be rendered. (Service to the furnace was once performed @ 9pm on a cold winter night to provide heat for the night.) Troubleshooting and evaluation of the existing equipment is performed, with thorough explanation prior to any repair or replacement. Having moved from my previous residence in Warwick to my new residence in Coventry, my first call was to Barlow Heating to have my furnace serviced for the upcoming winter. Upon my decision to covert from oil to propane the Barlow heating team was in the home within a week and the total installation completed in 2 business days. I will continue to depend upon the excellence and continuity of Barlow Heating for all of my heating and A/C needs. Never felt more secure!

Fantastic! Jerry understood the problem and took great care to find the issue, correct the issue, and additionally took measures to assure the problem does not resurface. He went above and beyond!

The burner was cleaned and vacuumed. They said to have a cleaning once a year so I won't have it shut off in the middle of winter and not to let the oil get too low in the tank.

It was rather expensive. He had to come twice before it was fixed.

I woke up to no heat in my house and had a pressure relief valve on my hot water tank that was dripping. To make a long story short, National Grid had turned off our services and I didn't know how to check/see that outside (this was a separate issue with National Grid). The one positive experience was that Barlow Heating came out within an hour or so of my call - unfortunately I was charged $220 for services that were completed in less an hour. The valve that was used costs approximately $15. I understand there might be a greater charge for coming out on a Saturday, and I would understand if he had said $100 or even $150, but $220 to come out to tell somebody their heat has been shut off and to replace a valve is borderline criminal. Look for services elsewhere, they will try to get every penny out of you.

Wonderful. Giving a shout out to Barlow Heating - on one of the coldest nights in February my heat went out. I was unable to get my heating company to come out even though my 99 year old Dad lives with me. I explained this but is did not matter. Their contractors would stop taking calls in 15 minutes so I would have to wait til the next day. Mind you the contract says 24/7 Call the emergency hot line and we will have someone there. After speaking to 3 people I gave up. They told me that it meant that they would make an appointment for the next day. Had I known that I would have left them a long time ago. So on to Angies list - Barlow heat was listed. Even thought I was not one of their customers and it was 15 minutes before they closed shop, they came out to my house. They worked their magic and we had heat. Can't thank them enough. Hats off to Barlow Heating!

I had several people respond and most just wanted to sell me a new boiler. The service person that responded was honest and truthful and proceeded to explain all my options and what was the likely problem. After diagnosing the problem he serviced the boilers (cleaned it out) and it was in working order 24 hours after the initial call. The original tech from another company recommended I just get a new boiler for 4000 dollars as opposed to 200 dollar service required.

Very thorough! Great service! Was very professional and knowledgeable. Told us what we need to do to maintain it and keep it running. Will be calling them in the future for all of our heating needs. I will be recommending Barlow to friends and family if they are ever in need.

Great. They told me everything they were doing and answered all my questions.

I have dealt with them a lot, on and off, and they are really good. They come four times a year. It is a small company, they know who I am when I call and it is nice and friendly. I have had no problems. They are cheaper than everyone else is. They are coming back in May to install a heating system for me.

This was my first time dealing this company. They were very prompt courteous and answered all my questions. They were also reasonably priced.

I had some problems with the work Barlow did on my heating system, but once I contacted them, they did respond and refunded my money, which illustrates that they do stand behind on their service.

Everything was just fine - they arrived on time, went right to work after listening to what we had found - full dip pan, no cooling of the house, etc. - they checked the inside attic unit, the vents as well a the outside unit. They also gave the system a Freon boost.

Arrived promptly. Explained what would be done, gave information relative to functioning of system. Courteous and efficient. Would definitely use again.

We have had Barlow do maintenance on our heating system for the last two years after having some emergency work done. We had called on a Saturday morning with no heat and they fit us in that day. We have used them since for regular maintenance on our system. Their guys are always courteous and answer my questions. They are on time and charge for the job accordingly. The tech this year made some recommendations for us and it really helped prolong the inevitable. His tips allowed us to budget the major repairs out over a season instead of coughing up cash right before the holidays!!!

They fixed that immediately. They were here when they said they were going to be. Price was reasonable. It was wonderful. I felt happy to have found him again. They were on time. They were extremely knowledgeable. Mr. Barlow came with his partner. They did a great job. Twelve years ago they corrected a problem and my furnace is fine. I would use them in the future.
