Sean responded to the inquiry within hours and we set up a time to meet at the site. He arrived at the agreed upon time/date and we walked through the scop of work we wanted done. He asked questions and made suggestions to ensure that what he was providing an estimate for was what we'd be happy with. He emailed me an estimate within a couple of days. I got back to him and told him we wanted him to proceed with the work and he told us that he thought he'd be able to get the work doneithin a 3 week timeframe. 3 weeks later, the work was done and the result was much better than I had expected. Sean was able to level the ground much more significantly than I thought he'd be able to. He spent a lot of time doing the best job he could and the result shows. We are very happy!

We had a horrible experience with Northern Landscape. They told us they'd start the job on a Monday and instead showed up that morning asking us to sign the contract and write our deposit check. Then he told me that Dig Safe had to come and they'd come once we received the all clear. Dig Safe was done with everything by Wednesday and Sean left me a voicemail saying they'd be here Friday or Saturday. Saturday rolled around and no one came. My husband called and they told him they'd start Monday at 8. After two phone calls in which they were pretty rude, they finally showed up by 11 (and continued to be rude). The steps look terrible and they did not seem to care that we are not at all satisfied. Besides looking terrible, whenever it rains we have mudslides going down the middle of the steps. This was not illustrated in the pictures they originally sent us of what our reclaimed granite steps would look like. I asked them repeatedly to fix the mudslide effect but they just wanted to charge us more money to do that. I don't feel like these guys take any pride in their work or care about their customers.
Description of Work: Installed reclaimed granite steps on a slope

As part of a major home renovation project last fall, we found out we had to have a new septic system installed. It wasn't part of the plan - or budget - but we didn't have a choice. Couldn't proceed with the project, which was already in progress. The actual septic installation wasn't all that expensive. But because of the contour of the back yard - sloped down from the house for about 50 feet, then sloped back up to where the septic system had to go about 75 feet out. Grade at the lowest was about 6' down, so it required a LOT of fill to level out the grade. After close to 200 yards, including the special sand and gravel for the system, we'd done enough to satisfy DEM and the building inspector but the yard was nowhere near ready for a lawn. It was late fall anyway by then, so we decided to put off landscaping until spring. The front yard was decimated by the construction too, so figured we just do both in one shot. Called a lot of landscaping companies, some who didn't want that big a job, some who didn't even know how to read the site plans to figure out what the final backyard grade was supposed to be! Anyway, Sean from Northern arrived at the time he said for the intial meeting and it was immediately clear he knew his stuff. Asked the right questions about the septic system and read the site plans correctly, even explaining some things to me that I didn't know were on the diagram. He took his rough measurements, but said he'd be back the next day (Saturday) with his transit to get elevations and email us the quote early the next week. Got the quote late Sunday night. $3950 to fill, loam, and hydroseed the approximately 80x100 backyard and $1200 to spread loam and hydroseed the 75' x 75' front plus a small side yard. Front yard had a big stump and a lot of rocks to excavate as well. A week after signing the contract, Sean started delivering 100 yards of fill. Over the course of the week, he spread and graded it all, cleand up the stump and rocks in the front, and started bringing in loam. Backyard was 40-50 yards and the front another 20-30. On Saturday, Sean and his brother arrived at 9:00am and they worked straight through till dark, spreading the loam, Harley raking everthing smooth, and hydroseeding front, back, and side yards. All told, extremely happy with the work and the price!

I just started working with them. They stacked some wood for me also besides the yard cleanup. I was happy with the whole experience that I had with them so far. Their price seemed to be fine. I think they did a good job for the first time that they have worked for me. I will continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: They came out to do my fall cleanup for me.

THE ONLY THING THAT I DON'T LIKE IS THAT THEY ARE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THEY DO. OTHER THAN THAT, EVERYTHING IS GREAT. THEY ARE PERFECTIONISTS. THEY MAKE IT IS DONE THE WAY WE LIKE IT AND MY LAWN LOOKS WONDERFUL.
