GREENSKEEPER

Working with John and his men was a tremendously positive experience. John was very responsive to our needs, always returned my texts or phone calls in a timely manner, and was very polite and professional. He came over to do the hydro seeding one day after the septic guy was finished and put in the bushes and mulch the next day. It all came out great and looks so much more neat and clean with the new grass and bushes. John was very informative when it came to the patio, walkway and wall. He was able to show us work he had done to give us an idea of what to expect. He sat down with us and we came up with a plan together. He used our input but also offered us some ideas based on his expertise. He and his men were neat, quiet, and respectful the whole time the project was happening. He and his men always showed up when they said they would and the project was finished when they said it would be. We are so happy with the finished product! It surpassed our expectations and made our backyard a place where we can enjoy ourselves and hang out. The last thing that John did for us was to clean up the yard of all the leaves from the fall. He came over one morning and when I got home from work, the yard was clean and neat. In all of our projects, John made it easy to trust him because he did what he said he was going to do, he completed the work on time, and the price never mysteriously increased as time went on. Overall, working with John was a very positive experience! We will definitely continue to use John for any landscaping needs we have in the future!

Excellent. I have used them for past projects and current and will continue to work with them in the future. I highly recommend Greenskeeper especially if you are busy with little time to oversee the project. Greenskeeper's owner John is highly skilled at recommending aesthetically pleasing and low maintenance bed/shrub installations- (note: having worked with various landscapers and contractors, it is evident John's degree in agriculture and plant/soil science has served him well-you will not be disappointed.)

Overall they were very good. They provided grading and made flowerbeds in my home for new construction.

From start to finish, working with Greenskeeper was a pleasure. Communication was excellent (I had several conversations over the phone, text, email, and in person). and as a consequence, the work that was done not only met my expectations, but far exceeded them. I simply described how I wanted my yard to look and Greenskeeper took care of the rest. Additionally, Greenskeeper was very accurate with their quote which was very fair and reasonable. They were more than willing to work within my budget, and it is evident that they take great pride in their work: After the work was completed, Greenskeeper asked for us to let them know if there were any areas on the lawn that weren't filling out. Several weeks after the work was completed, I sent a text message that simply stated that there was one or two sparse spots (the rest of my yard looked absolutely amazing), and this is the message I got back: "Hi Mike, I did stop by yesterday and took a look - I will come back and touch up around the patio area and the thin spots in the middle areas". A few days later, I got this text at work: "Hi Mike, I just seeded all the areas in the back, with the rain coming tomorrow that should help get those areas a little thicker." That was a few weeks ago. Now my yard looks flawless. Greenskeeper proved themselves to be friendly, hardworking, and trustworthy. I wouldn't hesitate to use them.

They were very good and I would rate them all A's. I would use them again in the future.

We asked John of Greenskeepers if he could build the retaining wall and walkway in a week because we had a wedding at our house which coming up the following weekend. He said it would be tight but if we chose materials that he could get quickly he said he could do it. It could not have gone better. The wall and path look great. John could not get the cement stairs in time so he substituted granite steps, which are more money, but he didn't charge any more than the original estimate. In the back where the wall was built he put bushes, again at no extra charge, just to block off the area and keep it safe. His crew was prompt and courteous. They took all the dirt they excavated and used it on the side of my two story shed because they noticed it needed it there. They asked if that was alright and I said it certainly was. Not only did he and his crew do an incredible job but at less cost than some other quotes we received. I definitely recommend them and would hire them again.

We are finishing the remodel work on a cottage built by my grandfather (we purchased it 2 years ago to get it back into the family). After 2 really bad experiences with 2 different contractors for projects involving masonry work, we found John and Greenskeeper on Angie's List. The positive reviews for jobs similar to ours encouraged us to call for a quote. After working with John we wish we had found him at the beginning of this remodel process! John is everything you need in a contractor. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable, with a great crew that does excellent work. He will not quote you the cheapest price or the most expensive. Our stairs and landing had been redone by the previous owner with wood covering the existing concrete from 86 years ago. It was failing and no longer safe. John's crew rebuilt them with stone and bluestone. Beautiful! We have had SO many compliments on this job. Neighbors, family, strangers walking by. The paver patio turned out just as nice as the stairs and landing, John listened to our requests and guided us to the right paver size and combo. Looks great! The upper level work was the biggest surprise for us. We asked for a walkway to be installed and a few plantings. What we got was a beautified upper level! For many years this part of our property was just a blah area and just a way to get to my father's property next door. It is now a well landscaped area that really shows off our property. This cottage is a Summer home for us. We were not here in May while John worked on this project. His communication was better than with the 2 other contractors we dealt with while we were here in RI. He always answered the phone or returned calls promptly. Sent pictures and made sure we agreed on each step of this project. Couldn't ask for better communication. Thank you John and your Greenskeeper crew!

The work went extremely well. John was responsive and showed up to observe the area for the estimate when he was supposed to. He sent us the estimate quickly, and we signed the contract and set up a date. The area is dominated by a large oak tree, and there are also several shade loving plants back there that we did not want damaged. The workers showed up promptly on the expected date and did an amazing job. The tree and plants were not damaged, and the patio looks great and fits the area perfectly. We are very happy with the results and we have been enjoying our patio ever since. The process was extremely painless with no stress.

John and his employees did an excellent job. I couldn't be happier! They cleaned up the stairs and porch one day and came back to do the repair job the next. John was able to reuse our bluestone and save some of the previous brickwork. They had to come a day or two later than what we had initially scheduled, but I'm guessing it was due to weather setbacks on other projects. (It was spring.) Regardless of the reason it was not a problem for us. John and his employees were professional and demonstrated exceptional customer service. After they were finished I realized they had pulled weeds in my cement walkway and filled the cracks with leftover cement. Not only do my steps look beautiful, but my walkway looks better as well. Also, the price was what he quoted us. If we need mansonry or landscaping in the future we will use John.

John provided an excellent estimate and a date to start (a month from estimate). John and his crew were on time and completed the work as requested and even went beyond to ensure we were satisfied. We were not home and provided no on-site direction. I could not have been any more pleased. I had obtained several estimates and Greenskeeper was the most cost effective and comprehensive.

He was responsive and I had no troubles reaching him. He came out for the consultation and spent a good amount of time looking everything over. He listed to my ideas of what I wanted to have done. I felt that the price was fair and it was in line with other quotes. I was satisfied with the quote he provided and haven hired him for the work. Everything has been fine.

Contacted contractor on a Monday to ask for an estimate for lawn care. Told me he'd come by later in week, likely on Thursday. I know landscapers are busy in spring so I called him again that Friday after he didn't show up. He told me he'd swing by over the weekend for an estimate. Never did. Others on Angie's list were at least kind enough to call and admit they were too busy to accept new projects.

John is very professional and punctual. Because of the tough spring, they were delayed a bit from when he originally told me the project would begin. Before I even had the chance to call him to confirm the start date, he called me to let me know they would start a few days late. It was worth the wait. My lawn and yard looked great. Plus, John is just a super nice guy all around. I would absolutely work with this company again and am planning to use them for Fall Clean Up.

It went great and we are very pleased with the work performed. John and his men were prompt in coming to the house and brought a huge truck. They worked for at least 5 hours cutting the bamboo down ( so it would grow better ). Blowing all the leaves, fallen branches and whatever else was on the hill directly in back of our house and picked them up and dumped them into the truck. They also blew the leaves down from the hill ( and there were many) beside our house and weed whacked the thorny bushes that we're catching so many leaves. All the leaves, branches and other assorted derbies from the hills were thrown into their truck and carted off. Would recommend John and his crew to anyone who wants a tough job done well.

John and his employees exceeded my expectations. I cannot say enough regarding the great job that was done on my lawn. I would recommend them to anyone.

I had originally called John in early December to get a quote to clean up our yard before the cold weather set it. John was very resopnsive, he came out to the house during the day while I was at work and then called me with the estimate of $625. My substantial yard was COVERED in leaves and needed a good deal of TLC, so I was more than happy with that quote. Unfortunately, the weather turned and John was not able to do the work at the time; I assumed that the work would have to wait until the spring time, but John called me last weekend and offered to come by and do the job since we were in for a few milder days. I told him to go ahead and he and his crew must have come the very next day because when I returned home from work, I could actually see my driveway!! The yard looks phenomenal and I am very pleased with the service; I will use this company again!!

I wanted a rustic-looking vegetable garden. I have a big yard with lots of fallen trees including some nice cedar trees. I wanted to make the garden fence out of reclaimed wood from my yard. John understood what I was looking for in the garden. I agreed to contract him after his estimate. John and his crew came and prepared all of the reclaimed wood. Then they came and put the fence posts in the ground and built a gate for me out of the wood. He completed the fence and also put in a water supply for me. The look of the garden is exactly what I was looking for. I love the way it turned out! I would be more than happy to use him again for any work.

The work done by John and his team has exceeded our expectations in every way! Our yard was a disaster and it was difficult for us to envision it ever being a place we could use. The yard was so bad, we haven't been able to use it for a few years. John listened to our wish list and worked within our budget to give us everything we wanted and more! John was able to dismantle our stone wall (really more like a pile of rocks, than a formal wall) and use those stones to create a beautiful, actual stone wall along the back of our yard. The stone wall is stunning! The wall was the talk of the neighborhood as it was being built. People who didn't see it being built need to be shown "before" pictures to be convinced that it hasn't always been there. We now have beautiful curved planting beds on both sides of the yard, in addition to a raised planting bed on top of the stone wall. Can't wait until spring to see everything bloom. Our new patio is gorgeous! Bigger than we imagined and beautifully shaped. It's a neutral beige to coordinate with house color, set off by a slate gray border that really makes it stand out. The patio is free formed to conform to the natural curves of the yard. Now, we can sit on the patio and enjoy the entire yard. The curves in the patio form natural groupings for chairs and tables. John also made sure we had space on the patio for our grill, and still have it out of the way. We contracted for a new fence around the yard as a separate project. We used a company recommended by John and we were very pleased with the results and the cost savings. (Will write a separate review for them.) The two companies worked well together to coordinate timing of the project so everything flowed smoothly. From our first meeting with John, we could see that he understood what we wanted and needed, even when we couldn't quite articulate it. We trusted John and his team and our trust was well founded. We gave John the parameters of the project, the budget and a couple of requests (for hydrangeas, hostas and a dogwood tree). John made suggestions for all of the other plantings and we were so confident in John and his team, we left everything else up to them. The results exceeded our wildest dreams! We could not be happier. John, Mike, Nico, Paulie, "little" Mike and the rest of the team (sorry I don't have all their names) are true professionals who take pride in their work, as well they should. If you've wondered whatever happened to true craftsman of years gone by, well, you haven't met the team from Greenskeeper! They were dedicated, on-time, courteous, efficient and hard working. John told us right from the start that the job would not be complete until we were 100% satisfied. He kept his promise. We can't say enough good things about John and the Greenskeeper team. We have already recommended them to family & friends and they will be the only company we consider for any future work on our yard.

John came in, gave me an estimate and was quick to set up a date and get the job done. He showed up early and was done before the end of the day When I came home everything was done. John's crew was very neat and clean.

He came and spent about 15 minutes here and we never heard from him again even after a couple of calls. He looked at the property but he never gave us the results. He gave us a couple of verbal things. We asked for it in writing. It was a little expensive but you got to pay the help. He was a little late getting here but he was coming from another state. If you can’t return with a written quote, you can’t be much of a professional.

We initially contacted Greenskeeper (John Ferrucci) early Summer requesting information for property landscaping and improvements. John arrived promptly at the scheduled time and was very receptive. We discussed overall scheme and scope of the project. John was open, easy to talk with, very professional - it was clear that customer service was a priority for his company. From this first meeting with John and Greenskeeper, we would not be looking for any other bids for the work. John had a very innate understanding and wanted to help us realize our dream. Customer service is very important and there was plenty of that. Each scheduled meeting at the property was prompt, as we finalized the quote and schedule for work to be completed. Materials were ordered and delivered as well as the workers needed to complete each phase of the task. The whole approach was very coordinated like a tuned orchestra, each worker performing their task and not stumbling over each other. The weather was the only snag, and even that only stalled work a couple of times. John was very considerate with advanced notice of worker arrivals and remained in contact throughout the project. Should it have been required John was reachable by phone or email. Greenskeeper staff are equally respectable and professional, while on the property. There was no fooling around among any of the workers. Smoking that occurred was off the property, any music played was minimal and low in volume.

Terrific work, and an exceptional level of professionalism from John and his entire crew. I couldn't be happier. Greenskeeper was one of very few providers in the area who were able to take on a job of the size that we needed. John's quote was accurate, detailed and very close to the final cost of the project, even though it would have been impossible to anticipate all of the elements of the work prior to getting started. I appreciated a few key things in Greenskeeper's approach to our project: 1. Responsiveness - I was in direct and frequent with John during the project even when he wasn't on site day to day, and he always went out of his way to get back to me with detailed responses. He was extremely professional, as were all members of his crew. 2. Good planning and project management - John managed my expectation well on when things would get done. I was not in a position to be around during most of the work, and was never disappointed by the pace of progress. 3. Quality - the work was excellent, and when I asked for change of scope or a tweak to work already done, John and his crew were always happy to do it. He even came back after the work was completed to do some touch ups to the yard and secure the ground cover under our new swing set. I would absolutely hire Greenskeeper again and recommend them to anyone.

Well, this is incomplete, but Angie's List keeps harassing me to write a review even though things are ongoing and apparently want to give me a starbucks gift card. So far the guys only removed a bunch of shrubs, but did a super job of that. We are still planning the 'big' work. John and crew are great to work with.

I think this Big Deal coupon was really a way for the vendor to get paid for reviewing a project and supplying a quote. There was a custom plan, but it was not very useful. Note: A yes or no answer is required to the question "Would you use this provider in the future?" The answer is really "maybe" rather than "Yes."

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was okay. The guy was very nice, and he came out and gave us some ideas for the estimates. He gave me an estimate, and then I had to ask him to give me a written down estimate, and he gave me a general estimate, so I asked him for a breakdown of the estimate, which he finally gave me. It wasn't the best of experiences, but it was okay.
