Lisa was always pleasant, and knowledgeable of her products. Riley has a nice up-to-date showroom. She listened attentively for our likes and dislikes, and made appropriate recommendations. She always called me back promptly. We are very happy with our new kitchen and bathroom cabinet.

My wife and I met with at least 5 other kitchen design firms, a friend of ours after hearing me complain about the other designers finally decided to give me the name of his contractor and the name of Lisa Riley at Riley Kitchen. My friend never gives referrals, but this time he saw the agony I was going through with the other kitchen places, so he finally gave me his contacts. Lisa Riley was a true pleasure to work with. She came out to our home to measure which to find out is absolutely crucial in getting everything to fit perfectly. We had one company (before Riley) come out 3 times to measure and each time they measured wrong, the company that we had first come out recommended 86 inch pantries, when Lisa came to measure, she recommended a 90 inch pantry which fit perfectly. Everything that Lisa recommended was 100% on the mark, every cabinet, be it pantry, floor cabinets, wall cabinets and lazy susan, everything was perfect. We had a tricky situation with our stove oven, all other designers recommended that we get a 9 inch cabinet next to the stove and that we cut into the doorway which would have looked stupid, Lisa with out blinking an eye suggested an 8 inch custom cabinet which was a perfect fit. So the cabinets are great and the design was just beautiful. Lisa took What I thought was a complicated job and made it simple. As to the cabinets we used an all wood cabinet compared to particle board cabinets that many places like to sell. As to our granite counters, Lisa was a real help with all of this, originally my wife wanted some type of manufactured stone, however, after Lisa sent us to the stone contractors we settled on a couple pieces of granite which we are just thrilled to have chosen. We bought our sink from Riley which made the fabrication of the coutertops easier to cut and install. We had our floor installed by the contractor who installed the cabinets, the stone contractors installed the countertops. They came through Riley and they were also great to work with. My wife and I will not only recommend Riley to others but we will use them again for other projects
Description of Work: we had our kitchen totally gutted, everything from the ceiling down to the floorboards was replaced. We used Riley Kitchen for all our kitchen cabinets and for our granite counter tops and the kitchen sink.

,This review is going to be rather long but well worth reading if you are planning a kitchen renovation. It took my wife 15 months and several kitchen place visits until we were lucky enough to find our way to Riley Kitchen in Bristol, RI. My wife and I decided to redo our kitchen over a year ago and I would like to share our story. Back in July 2012 a friend referred a kitchen guy to us and my wife and I thought hey nice enough guy and he lives in town we will use him. We told him to start anytime and we expected him to start in August (2012) as he promised, August passed then September, then October. At this point after many unanswered calls my wife and I decided we would no longer use him.( we lost our trust) Naturally I told my friend that his guy did not work out and that my wife and I were going elsewhere. Last November I went to a Kitchen place that advertises quite a bit and they had a spectacular booth at the Providence Home Show. I made an appointment for the business owner to come to my home and measure, when he came he was very upset that my wife was not around and he was like and quot;why are you waisting my time, your wife needs to be hereand quot;. I simply told him that nobody from his office told me my wife needed to be at this initial meeting. He stayed for about 2 hours discussing plan design and frankly he did not listen to a word I said. All he wanted to do was to knock down my wall between my kitchen and dining room and I was not at all interested in that. He said your wife will love the design and yet I wanted nothing to do with it. I told him I wanted the same layout, just new cabinets and countertops. He told me that when my wife and I come in for a consultation he would have a couple different designs for us. When my wife and I returned a couple weeks later to meet with the designer, all we were showed was a design with the wall taken down between the kitchen and the dining room. We were both shocked and for some reason for 2 hours the designer was very insistent and told my wife and I that they were the professionals and to trust them. I could not take anymore and walked out. I e-mailed the owner several times and he did not respond to one e-mail. I will not write a negative review because I did not use the company. However the company I did not use is the one that everyone can see on 95 south, right after Thurbers Ave curve. My wife and I then went to another kitchen and bath place that advertises in several Rhode Island magazines. We both liked the design person. I paid a small consultation fee for her to come to my home and measure and I got right to the bottom line. I told her if she thought the job would be more that $50,000 she could leave now. She told me and my wife that no way no how it would be anywhere near that cost. My wife and I met her several weeks later ( January 2013) for the final presentation/proposal. We met for close to 3 hours and loved everything she told us. I kept asking how much how during the meeting and then the bombshell came. I could not believe it, $74,000 for a new kitchen and this was without appliances. I need to be clear here, my kitchen is just an average size kitchen, actually probably on the small size (12 feet wide 16 feet long). My home is just an average 2,000 square foot home and yet the designer person, who again we really liked, was trying to convince us that this is standard in the industry. Well my wife and I left and headed straight to one of the big do it yourself places (not Lowes, the other guy). For close to 4 months I found working with the design person most frustrating. I, at times, felt that this was the first kitchen she had ever designed, but hey the pricing sure seemed to be in my budget. After several months I met with the department manager and told him that I found this whole process frustrating and that I needed to work with another person. He pleaded with me to stay on with this this one particular designer and he assured me that he would guarantee the work and everything. I was just about to sign the contract in April 2013 when for some reason I decided to do some research on the kitchen cabinets. After I read many negative reviews about particle board cabinets I brought this to the attention of the design person and all she could say was and quot;well, you wanted to redo your kitchen for as little as possibleand quot; I told her that she never even gave us an option. I had her redo the cabinets in a plywood frame and this actually doulbled the cost of the cabinets. I was now looking at spending $40,000 for cabinets and countertops and this with a designer who never came to my house, would not recommend any colors, would not recommend any style, basically would not recommend any design. My wife was the one who kept coming up with plan designs and the planner kept commenting to my wife and quot; wow what great idea, why didn't I think of thatand quot;. Every meeting kept getting more aggravating, but my wife wanted a new kitchen and she was determined to make it work. OK, the big do it your self place did not work out. Finally, to try to keep this review on the shorter side I was introduced to Riley Kitchen back in April/ May of this year. My wife and I just loved everything about the place and especially the design person Lisa. From the very moment my wife and I met Lisa we knew we were in good hands. She had an estimate right from the get go so I new where I stood. As to the design Lisa was very detail oriented and perfect to the inch. We had a couple places in the kitchen that were pretty complicated, but yet Lisa was able to solve the issues with ease. An example, Lisa was able to use an 8 inch custom cabinet that fit perfectly between the doorway and the stove, whereas, the do it your self place had only a 9 inch cabinet which would have cut into the door frame. There were so many little details that Lisa paid attention to. Most importantly Lisa came to the house did her own measuring and yes she came up with great ideas. She helped with color, she helped with the style of the cabinet and she helped with the granite countertops. The key to a perfect kitchen is to be 100% accurate with the measurements. When the do it yourself people came to measure, they measured my ceiling at 89 inches high and yet my ceiling is 93 inches high, a huge difference this makes with regards to the wall cabinets and the pantries. My wife and I ordered the cabinets in June from Riley Kitchen and as promised they came in the beginning of August. My wife wanted this project done by the end of the Summer. When the cabinets came in, they were delivered directly to Riley Kitchen. This makes perfect sense, with the do it your self people the cabinets get delivered right to your house and you are stuck with the delivery check list making sure all is ok. This is the last thing in the world anyone needs. Riley Kitchen took possession of the cabinets and verified everything was there. When my contractor was ready to start the job, he called over to Riley and within a couple hours the cabinets were delivered to my house. It was all very simple and streamlined. This way I didn't have to store cabinets in my house for weeks waiting for the contractor to start. My wife and I ended up getting all wood cabinets with several being semi custom which make a perfect fit for those tricky spaces. The project took a few weeks and everything came out as planned. Not only did the cabinets come in perfectly but all the crown molding just pulled everything together so nicely. We are so thrilled with Riley Kitchen that I really want to share this with everybody. I have never written a review before on Angies List but I feel that my experiences with dealing with Riley Kitchen merits a review. If you are planning a kitchen, Riley Kitchen should be on the top of the list.
Description of Work: We purchased all kitchen cabinets, countertops and kitchen sink from Riley Kitchen. We used our own contractor who has a working relationship with the vendor so at least everybody was on the same page and everybody was able to work together. The cost of the contractor is separate and not included in the above cost of service.

Outstanding. We met with Lisa, told her our ideas for a kitchen, our budget, and our required dates. She came to our house, confirmed measurements, then developed a plan with diagrams, proposed materials, costs, and suggested modifications to our ideas. We approved the plan, gave her a deposit for 50% of the cabinets. She called us 3 weeks later ( she had estimated 4 weeks) to let us know the cabinets were in, and schedule delivery. Everything was delivered as promise. There was one cabinet that was damaged in the box - we told Lisa, and it was replaced, at no cost to us, within the week. Remainder payment was due at time of cabinet delivery.
Description of Work: We turned to Riley Kitchen and Bath at the recommendation of a trusted local remodeler. We had worked with a few kitchen designers, and were utterly dissatisfied. After working with Lisa, we were thrilled. Not only did she provide us with a fantastic kitchen, right on our budget, but she did so quickly, professionally, and affordably. She took the time to customize a completely new plan, instead of modifying stock plan, as most designers seemed to prefer. She offered us a wide range of options, and made useful suggestions for things that we would not have known/thought of. Finally, they had examples of all their items in stock, and had effective computer simulations to portray the results - which, suprisingly, a lot of companies did not. I highly recommend Riley Kitchen and Bath, and would use them again.
