From the initial contact for a quote, to the completed installation and final inspections it has been a very smooth process and experience. Dana ( Solar Consultant ) was very professional and easy to talk to. She would answer all our questions in a timely manner and had no problem with getting a answer to a question that she wasn't't sure of. Alex ( Project Manager ) was equally as professional and easy to talk with. He came to our property and went over everything about the project and answered any questions that we had. He also sent us any paperwork that needed to be signed to get the system up any running. Both Dana and Alex take care of everything that is needed to get final approval with both the town and electric company. The installation team were terrific in all phases. Fearless too! Up on our steep roof is not for the faint at heart. They were excellent at explaining details of the completed system. We are very happy with our decision to contract with NEC. We highly recommend

We had recently removed our oil heat and hot water and went all electric; as a result, our electric bill increased dramatically. We contacted two local solar installers, both of which had been highly recommended to us. We chose NEC because they were more aggressive in sizing the system, and we wanted as large a system as our roof could accommodate. The salesperson spent over 2 hours with us and explained solar systems in great detail and gave us a very reasonable proposal. The cost was about the same as the proposal we received from the other vendor, but for a larger solar array. The project manager and installation crew were timely, professional, answered all of our questions during installation. it was very gratifying when, even on a short December day, over 50% of our electricity came from our own roof. I give NEC 5 stars without hesitation.

We had three companies bid on our ground mounted solar array project. NEC had the best quality panels and inverters as well as the most detailed 3D imaging of our site to ensure our future production. The project was completed on time and as quoted. It was a truly turnkey experience with almost no need for our involvement except for deciding the final height above the ground. NEC took care of all of the permitting with our town and contacted Eversource for the right to apply for net metering. We were constantly informed of the progress of each permit. The mounting frame took one and half days to erect despite encountering ledge on all seven mounting points. This required the use of a rock drill. Great care was taken to prevent damage to my lawn while transporting the drill to the site. The remainder of the array, trenching and wiring was completed in four days. After the trench and wiring was inspected the soil was replaced with great care. The array is now operational, and we are pleased to see we now exporting energy to the grid as well as covering the needs of our home. We are very happy we chose NEC as our installer. The project manager, Nick and his crew were a pleasure to work with and they were very respectful of our property. Thank you, NEC!

We had solar panels installed by NEC Solar in August 2021. The installation process was entirely smooth. Since then, the system has performed as well and sometimes better than the estimates provided prior to installation. We also really appreciated the personal touch that came with having a local Needham solar expert, Artie Crocker, do the assessment and walk us through the installation process.

We contacted NEC Solar to determine if we could add panels to an existing rooftop array to offset costs of charging our new electric vehicle purchased in October 2023. Response was prompt and professional, approval secured from RI Energy, and the array was designed, installed and activated in only 5 months at the agreed-upon contract cost. All contacts with company personnel were positive and helpful, and quality of installation is excellent. We also appreciate that NEC Solar is a supporter of the Audubon Society of RI.

I wanted to use solar power for a while, but I owned a condo and couldnâ t put it on the roof. So when I got a house, I looked into solar for electricity. I had heard of NEC Solar from signs around my town, so I reached out to Liz Thomson. They call her Solar Liz for a reason. She was great. She spent a lot of time with me reviewing all aspects of solar and gave me a binder with all the information on going solar â including pictures of my house and how much solar it would produce, rebate, and breakeven information. Every aspect of working with NEC was great. They kept me informed of when it would be installed and then when it would be okâ d and turned on by Eversource. It was so great and worked so well that I put on more solar panels a year later on the addition to the house with Liz and NEC.

We are 100% satisfied with the solar panel system that NEC installed on our home. From the initial consultation and project proposals, through the scheduling and permitting, to the final installation and inspection process, Artie and the NEC crew handled all of the necessary tasks, on schedule and on budget, with the greatest degree of professionalism. We really appreciated the clear and responsive communication all along the way. Any questions we had were promptly and helpfully responded to by Artie or our Project Manager Alex. The installation crew was excellent, very well organized and focused. The installation electrician even identified and corrected a minor issue with our existing electrical panel. Our (20) solar panels were installed in one day, and not so much as a random screw or scrap of plastic left behind for us to pick up. After two years of service, we can report that our solar array is producing exactly as projected. There is never a need to check on the system, but it is good to know that the Enphase app is available when we wish to monitor our electrical usage and production, (also useful to monitor the usage of supplemental space heaters, ovens etc.) All in all, NEC gets an A++ from us!

When you think of placing panels on a roof, you may think that it's just a "plug-and-play" installation based on the area available - not the case with NEC Solar. We have a difficult roof, and from the projects beginning definition through planning, design and then installation it was super-customized to maximize the potential of the system with the roof lines. Installation also resulted with no visible cabling, a feat that required ingenuity on the installation team's part. It really felt "artisanal" with an accompanying super professional team. Plus, the process with getting into production was "frictionless" with regards to the utility company and local permitting.

NEC/Artie Crocker sales, engineering and install crew were all great. Seamless install and we are reaping the benefits now.

NEC solar designed and installed a 10.26 kW DC array on my roof in June 2023, in replacement for an old solar shingle system installed by another company and that failed after 10 years. They are knowledgeable, explain everything in detail, take time to answer questions, and do not place any pressure to commit. The top quality panels they have installed on my roof work amazingly well so far, 6 months after their installation. I have a 2,400 sqft house that is all-electric and it appears that it will reach "net-zeroâ averaged over a full year. Because NEC is also an electrical company, they could handle the decommissioning of the defective solar shingles prior to the installation of the new array and coordinate their work with the company that reshingled the roof after removal of the solar shingles. Overall, their careful planning saved me a lot of trouble and time. I very much appreciated their professionalism and how the entire team worked together harmoniously and efficiently, making their presence around my house a pleasant experience.

By the time we worked with this company, we had finished discussions with a few others that we did not ultimately select. Artie introduced us to the company and provided the analysis and contract. We are happy with the appearance and the grid production. And the "Enphase" app by which we monitor production and elecricity usage is terrific.

Artie Crocker from NEC Solar, MA is the real deal when it comes to buying Solar! We bought our home Solar Panel System from Artie Crocker and from the time we signed the agreement to the installation and the results of using solar, everything that Artie promised has been delivered. Before you buy anything Solar talk to Artie. It will be very hard to find someone that knows solar better than him!

From start to finish I never felt pressured to sign a contract or make a commitment; I was provided all the information about how solar works, how an install goes, and had the opportunity to ask questions. I could call or text any questions I thought of after the initial meeting. I never got calls making me feel obligated to move forward. I contacted NEC when I was ready and every step of the process went smoothly, and I was kept updated with each step leading up to the installation day. Installation went so smoothly, it was like nobody has been at my house. Darryl and Wyatt are wonderful to work with, polite, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend NEC for your solar project. In Feb, 2022, after researching several companies, I chose NEC to do the solar array on my Jamestown house. Engineer Artie Crocker was my contact person, who made a site visit, designed the array, and explained the system thoroughly. He was knowledgeable, patient, accessible, and always had time to take my calls, even on weekends. I had price quotes and site visits from two other RI companies (Sun Watt Solar and Newport Solar), but NEC was clearly superior in terms of price, quality of the panels, warranty, reviews, service and rebates. The project manager and installers were professional, on time and neat. In the 12 months since my 41 panels were in installed, I have had no problems and have accrued a $1,500 credit on my RI Energy bill. Because I chose "net metering" I can let the credit accrue, or I can donate energy to other RI Energy customers. I was able to give a $500 credit to a needy neighbor, which came right off her RI energy bill. I couldn't be happier with NEC and my decision to go solar. AAA+++

Artie and the team explained every details right from start. The proposed system design made sense, they answered all questions and they were true professionals every step of the way, taking care of the installation and paper work all the way.

My wife and I had met with representatives of three other solar providers before we met with Daryll Issa of NEC. We had tentatively decided who we were going to invest with. We met with Daryll "just in case" because for us this was a huge amount of money. Daryll proved to be head and shoulders above the rest. His presentation was clearer and more complete. And there was no "salesmanship". When we compared apples to apples NEC offered better equipment for less money with a better warranty. And, Daryll had our trust. This summer of 2022 was a very busy time for NEC with supply parts increasing in price. Our installation took a little more time to be completed than we expected at first, but that was not a problem for us. NEC stood by the contract we had with them and did not try to increase the price. I am writing this in December. Our NEC system generated more electricity than we consumed in November. It doesn't get any better than this. NEC is local and has been in business long enough that I am confident that they will be there for us in the future if we need them.

I had solar panels installed at my house last year by NEC Solar and everything went perfectly. Dana did a great job explaining everything to me and my wife to make us feel at ease and I feel confident that the products they used will preform for the life of the system. The installers did excellent work, were very attentive to our needs and the system looks and works great. We were concerned with the aesthetics and didn't want pipes running on the roof so they ran all the wires through the attic and walls. The system was sized properly and I generate plenty of electricity to cover my whole electric bill, it's nice not to have to pay an electric bill or have to worry about price increases.
