TruGreen Lawn Care - 5033

It's going to cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage TruGreen has done to my property. There are large sections of my lawn where the grass is now completely gone as the result of improperly applying fertilizer and burning the grass. Before TruGreen my lawn was healthy and pothole free. I am also now dealing with a mosquito infestation. This after 7 treatments from TruGreen during 2022. Again, I never had this issue with my previous lawn care service. Avoid at all costs if you value your lawn.

Tried to sign up for annual service last year but it was a nightmare & hours on the phone & could not get anyone from York TruGreen to visit & evaluate my lawn or call to discuss with me by phone or email. Could only talk to & sign up w/ out of state call center so I ended up cancelling before service began. So this year tried again telling call center I want local on site evaluation before I sign up & now Joe , York's TruGreen manager says they won't come to a property to evaluate the lawn . They just want you to sign with their out of state call centers & start blind services. I have lawn fungus that needs expertise & York now insinuates they don't have that expertise. Really? Then who does?

Good, but grass is really turning brown. Assuming it’s the weather

The company makes a moss control product but will not apply it to my lawn. Instead they make excuses as to why not. They totally ignored my weed problem.

The work took about a half hour. I will continue to use them.

Poor customer service. Seemed to rush from job to job with weeds still remaining in the yard even after repeated visits. Would cancel appointments and not reschedule the work sometimes until weeks later.

They're a standard service. They do what they're supposed to do.

Trugreen destroyed my lawn- big huge weeds and large brown spots. The shrubs are yellow and not pretty fall color yellow. Hired a local company to fix what they did. Waiting times on hold were 20 minutes plus today (never waited more than a few minutes with Scotts). When I called about the shrubs on 9/1 I was told that someone would be out within three days. 8 days later, no one. Customer service said it was 'not scheduled yet'. Used to get a nice printout as to how my lawn was doing and what the tech did. Now, a couple of lines of nothing. They were scheduled to come on on a monday, did not come, did not call. The absolute worst change in service I have seen in a very long time. One Scotts lawn guy told me that they now had to get on board with 'selling Trugreen' and their lousy customer service. Going with a local company- this has been an awful experience.

Great staff! They inform us who is coming out a day ahead and they are on time for work.

I have two lines of trees on my property and they spray just them. The service is pretty good. The workers are friendly. They are very prompt. I would tell a friend that Tru Green is a pretty good company. They call before they come. They do everything good. When I am not at home, I trust them to do a good job.

Bernie sold me on the program, Matt discussed specific weed control, insect and disease problems. I expected that once on the program there would be pressure to add services. However, I am pleasantly surprised that they listen to what I want to pay, and what I am willing to forgo in additional options without any hassle. I spoke with Trevor Barninger, Branch Sales Manager, who told me treating grass fungus would be a waste of money. I could not believe my ears. I expected that to be reason to add services. Very knowledgeable, honest, and I get the same application person. Also if you need them to come back anytime for weed treatment they will do so at no additional charge. I had lots of weeds, wild strawberry, violets, and other very invasive species. I had been treating the weeds for several years myself without much success. Felt like I was feeding the weeds. Yard looks much better now after only one year and it's much better to watch someone else do the work. Very happy with the work.

It went great. The company call before they come out before they preform the lawn service.

I've had a very good experience with them, they've always been very kind, very helpful in answering my question and they're very willing to come out if I have a problem, I really appreciate their work.

We started using TruGreen after having a completely new lawn planted in May 2013 through a referral from the landscaping company. Prior to this, we have not had good luck at all with lawn treatment companies, and I thought this going to be much the same. We were originally referred to the TruGreen commercial side of the house, which, rightfully so, referred us to the residential side of the house; however, the residential side of the house really didn't seem to think we existed. Because the only phone number I had was for the commercial office, that's what I called. Finally, that manager came out and looked at the lawn and realized that no one from the residential office was treating the lawn. He had his commercial technicians treat the lawn. That manager has stayed on top of it ever since. I have worked directly with him. This year, I have started the tree service. He is still making sure that everything goes smoothly. I am extremely grateful to Mike McCullar. He has been very patient with me and has taught me a lot about my lawn. He understand that I just want it to look nice. He also understands that we really need TruGreen to call ahead due to having four dogs that we can't have running around on the grass immediately after the lawn is treated. Mike has worked hard to get the technicians to call ahead as well. After a slow start, I have been pleased with TruGreen's results, but, mostly, I have been very pleased with Mike's great customer service.

I'd give them an A on the price and the guy was really good, but the service wasn't that great. And when I was calling to cancel the service, they continually hung up on me. I had to call the corporate headquarters to get somebody to help me cancel service. It was particularly cumbersome and I would not recommend them. You never knew what they were going to do, they never gave you a schedule of when they were going to come out. They just showed up in the morning and woke my family up.

It went great. Performance is quite adequate!

Great thus far! Very friendly gentleman that came to the door to offer their services. Outstanding customer service number. They always inform you at least a day in advance when they will be performing their next service and place a completed sign in your yard as a reminder that they were there. They also will come back and reapply service if not up to your standards. Great experience thus far.

TruGreen were horrible and I cancelled them. They completely messed most of the yard in the first half of the season, and then when I complained multiple times, the guy ended up admitting that he thought that wasn't our yard, yet they have been servicing our yard for a couple of years before. We were getting all kinds of weed and crabgrass and they were treating for all that and the yard was a mess. One of the managers was supposed to call me but he never called me but they had the nerve to try and resign me up automatically which I never asked them to do, because I paid them in advance for 6 treatments and so I do it for a year without having to pay, so they came and treated my yard without my authority and then tried charging me for it and then I finally got them to say that they messed up. I told them to they had messed it so bad, that It could not fixed again and so I didn't want to use them again. People looking at using them should question the amount of treatment and question how much of the yard they are treating and the other thing is them not following up on their calls.Their price was average but their quality of work was not worth it. I came to the conclusion that I was not getting anywhere with this people so I told them to lose my number and my address and everything.

Grass died after June feeding. Had a dead yard until middle of September. Grass seed applied in September. Trugreen was to return end of September to see if seed sprouted and then starter fertilizer was to be applied. Neither happened. At this time I would like to find another provider as I do not plan on contracting them in 2013.

They've done work in my neighborhood and we had always seen good results, so we decided to hire them. We can already see a difference in our yard after just the second treatment.

They are reliable. I have used them earlier.

I disliked how expensive it was and it did not seem like they took much time and care of my lawn. They rarely let me know what they were doing and I did not have any likes. I will not use them again in the future.

I have used them for several years. They treat my lawn at least five or six times a year. I get a notification email from them whenever they do a service on the lawn. They are very forthcoming on what they are going to do. They seem to carry through what they say they are going to do. The price is reasonable. Whenever I call them they come right out. My lawn and garden looks fabulous. I have had no issues with them at all.
