We used P's "Friendly" movers for a move from a very large house to a townhome across the street. First of all, you need to know he does not do "free estimates" as he advertised on his website. He has you fill out the inventory online and then sends you an estimate based on what you submitted. If you are desperate enough to use him (which I was as our move date changed and I had no other option) make sure you have the movers the day of the move sign in- he charged us for 5 movers and only sent 3. It literally made our move the worst experience ever. My husband had to help the movers all day and still worked until 4am in the morning to get it complete. We then had to pay almost double of our estimate because he billed us for 5 movers and only sent 3. We did get our $ back after taking him to the District Magistrate- but it made our move so stressful and they did not set up any of our furniture, like promised. This company owner is unethical and I would rather move myself !
Description of Work: Moved across the street with 3 movers and 1 truck/took almost 18 hours due to 2 of the movers not showing up. Head mover kept saying the other 2 movers were coming and then they never did. The company was also moving another family in the neighborhood and apparently they were supposed to come over when they completed that move. They never came and he still charged us for there services.

The crew was friendly, but the work was subpar. I have a desk that was taken apart and reassembled incorrectly which ended up being damaged. I called the office to try and resolve my issue and the person I spoke with had the worst customer service possible, called me a liar before I ended the call that was going no where. I would not use them period.

I never called you a liar. You called me and stated that AFTER the move, your desk was damaged. I told you that Im not sure how we would be responsible for that. You acknowledged walking and inspecting all items before we left, and there was no damages. You signed stating that also. You then said the desk in question was "in pieces". I asked you to send me pictures. You then said, "well its not really in pieces". Sorry about your desk man. Good luck

They said they are professionals but they are not. They are not honest. The moving truck quoted a price that will take only four hours work but after a while they are charging me for an eight hours job. The payment checks/charges were excessively high. The SP said that they will not release her belonging until is is paid which apparently is not true. The SP is threatening me and they are so unprofessional. SP were unable to provide and send me the inventory list. I told them exactly what they are getting on truck, furniture and boxes. I don't want anybody else to experience this. The drivers are also smoking pipes (marijuana).

The estimate you signed, before the move, said your move would cost $1,039.77. Your move costed $1,039.77. Your move required a 1.5 hour drive each way. No clue how that m9ve would take 4 hours. Impossible. You were also very nasty all day while the guys were there. You are a miserable person. Good luck in life. Also, I have her signed estimate for services, her final bill, and any other paperwork available for anyone to see. This is a nasty lady here

Details04/28/2021 This is the absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. The owner never came for an appraisal. Said it would take 7 hours approximately. The movers showed up at 0730 in the morning and didn’t finish until 0130 the following morning. Most of my furniture was damaged. They even took a broken piece and threw it in the shrubs. This is just some of the issues. Then tried to give pennies for thousands of dollars worth of damage. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Awful. Had the owner actually come to my PA house to look at contents to make sure it would all fit. He assured me it would all fit into one of his trucks. On moving day... as I was already on the road to Fl with my family, he called to inform me that all the items would NOT fit. He claimed another truck would bring my remaining contents to Fl in four weeks, The day before that "supposed" delivery date, he called and told me that the trip was cancelled and asked if I could find other arrangements to have the items shipped. I found a few quotes from "POD" type companies, and when I sent the invoice to the owner, he literally said "I'd be willing to split the cost with you". Mind you, I paid for my initial move IN FULL for his services, yet the services were not completed. I had to arrange on my own to store my items for nearly two months until I could have them shipped to FL. I ended up paying for this shipping myself because Piccolo's owner would not do the right thing. He even admitted on a few of our phone calls that he "takes 1,000% responsibility", yet I got stuck with a $1,500 bill to ship my remaining items. And... a few times he even made accusations that somehow this was all my fault. What kind of business owner puts the blame for their mistakes on the customer? He claimed he gave me a "discount" on my initial move because I was a Fire Fighter. If this is true, I never asked for that, yet he threw that back at me along with a barrage of excuses. And in true fashion... if you look up other negative reviews on him... he will likely fabricate excuses and place blame on the customer to justify the review. Not sure how he stays in business. I gave him MULTIPLE opportunities to do the right thing and he never took advantage. The only reason I gave him a D instead of F is because his workers did a good job.

very sorry you feel this way. as i stated, you had about 100 more boxes on move day than the day i visited your home. that is why it didn't fit. yes, i said i would bring the rest of your stuff(about 1250 pounds worth) on our next florida trip. i was going to do that and not charge you. unfortunately, our scheduled trip down to your area was cancelled a week before their move. i called you immediately, not the day before i was to bring your stuff. i give ALL first responders discounts. I always have and always will. you don't have to ask. you just get it. im very sorry this all happened.

This was a great moving experience! Jeff, the owner, was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule on very short notice and charged a fair price to unload a POD into a new apartment. His team, Leo and Eric, did an amazing job! They arrived on time and did not leave until the job was done. They worked tirelessly for hours, were very professional, reassembled furniture, were respectful of me and my belongings and did so much more. I am so grateful to them for their service. The experience far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend Piccolo's! Friendly Movers.

The movers showed up early but they were providing a service that was different than agreed to. There were additional expenses that were brought up then, not during the initial phone conversation. I repeatedly asked for an invoice to review how the final bill was determined, but Mr. Piccolo would not send it. The two men who did the work were very friendly. I had to then make seven trips moving the smaller stuff that I did not have boxes for when they showed up.

Now, here we have your classic liar. I will post the email thread between him and I. Please note that I always responded very quickly after his email to me. There were no extra charges. The only things we didn't take was loose stuff. I had told him, if packing himself, that everything that could fit in a box, should be in a box. I called him the day prior to the move to confirm, and he said everything was ready. He had loose stuff everywhere. We moved all the furniture and everything that was in a box. I've moved a total of 5 times in the past 13 years, this is by far the worst experience I've every had. A friend likes to say moving homes is the second most dramatic thing you can do short of a death in the family. At no point in this move was I under the impression Piccolo's "Friendly" Movers gave a **** about making the least amount to make that process smoother. The entire move was all about them and what they wanted and what we wanted was utterly insignificant. The first red flag was that they were available on short notice. The second was Jeff didn't feel the need to come see the house in person to do an estimate. Every other move I, and anyone I know, has had started with a professional coming to the house to do the estimate. Jeff just asked me how many bedrooms I had and "If I had anything unusual to move". EVERY single problem to come would have been avoided had Jeff completed that one basic step every other mover seems to be capable of. I will start off coping to 2 things. 1) We had a massive mold problem in the basement we weren't prepared for. We spent a lot of time dealing with that instead of getting ready for the movers. Having dealt with many other movers before I figured it'd be a simple matter to tell them "Just move what you can, and ignore the rest" and they'd do a decent job. Big mistake here. When they arrived I told them about the mold and to ignore the basement except for the stack of things and furniture I had personally verified were mold free, and/or had repacked in the last 2 days in clean, fresh boxes. They responded they wouldn't go anywhere near the basement, or anything from the basement, but I was welcome to move anything I wanted by myself and they'd "Think about putting it on the truck" exact quote. Gee glad I'm paying you. 2) My wife's business involves angora rabbits. She combs and dyes the angora for her business. Yes, sometimes the rabbits are inside, and sometimes they poop. We had cleaned up most of it, and since there's no known case of a human getting a disease from rabbit poop, we didn't worry too much about it the rest. It only affected the furniture in 1 room which ended up having small amounts of poop under it basically. 10 minutes into the move I was informed we had 'rats' in the house by the manager, and that some of their guys didn't want to touch any of my furniture. (again...totally avoided had Jeff showed up for the estiamte). I explained to them it was from the rabbits (which they saw on our front porch..so of course they assumed it was rats) They'd only stick around if my wife and I personally scrubbed each and every piece of furniture while they basically watched. I guess they were afraid our rabbits were crawling around on top of the 5 ft bookcase they made be clean twice? The entire time they mention several times how horrible the place is...which does wonders for basically trashing my wife's self-esteem in her business by constantly trashing how 'dirty' it was. So glad I could hire people to come tell me I was a slob. Also, they could not be bothered to help with anything, at all. Oh there's a single sheet of paper towel on a desk? We had to move it before they'd touch the desk. There were 3 open plastic totes in the house . We were told they don't touch anything open. These 3 totes each had lids sitting within 3 ft of them. A profession who gave a crap about helping the people who hired them would have just put the lids on and loaded them in thr truck. A semi-professional, would have hinted to us to put the lids on so they could load them in the truck. These guys just walked around every tote and once complained I had to get it out of their way for them. After about 2 hours it became clear they had given up. Only about half my belongings were on the truck. The whining from them continued however. They came to me and told me they wouldn't move our office desks because "They are from Ikea and Ikea is known for selling crap, and they don't think they would survive the move." I informed them that one of those 'crap desks' had been moved 5 times in the past 12 years just fine from house to house and that if it fell apart when they tried to move it...maybe it wasn't Ikea's fault? That gave them no pause however, then they said "Okay, fine, there's dirt around one of them and we don't want to touch them." By 'dirt' they meant some potting soil that was from some dixie cups sitting on the nearby window sill where my kids planted seedlings. A few ounces of potting soil and they refused to move 2 office desks. At this point I'm clearly frustrated, but fortunately they sought to placate their customer by again blaming me for all this. "If I had known your house was this bad I wouldn't have shown up", he told me. Well gee, if you worked for a real moving company you would have seen my house 3 weeks ago and we could have avoided all of this. Deciding to cut my loses, I say just grab whatever you can, stop complaining to me, and I'll deal with the rest later. They go to finish up and I notice they haven't touched my grill, which was sitting outside. I ask if they plan to take the grill as well, and I get this smirk from them like I'm being an jerk for asking and they say "You never told us to take the grill." I respond "Actually, remember the first thing I said is please take the grill and don't worry I already disconnected and removed the propane tanks." "Oh yeah, you did ask us to take the grill, okay we'll get it." No sorry, no even hint of that being their fault and not mine. Last thing I notice they haven't moved my trash can. I ask them to please move it. He opens the can, looks inside it and says "It's not clean, we're not moving it." And some of his men actually snicker. What, were they planning on moving it by only holding the inside of the can? We finally get to the house and the first thing they ask is "Can we just put all your boxes in the garage?" Um, no. We put a lot of effort into labeling each and every box, and even put up signs and labels all around the house so you'd know which room was which....isn't it obvious we want you to move the boxes to those places? "Oh, well some of these aren't clearly labelled." Again, it was my fault. How many boxes of the 150 or so did they have to actually ask me where they go? I believe it was 5. Then comes the best part. They've screwed up the estimate process. They've been rude to me and my wife. They've whined and complained about things that basic gloves would have solved. And to top it all off they've only actually moved half of my furniture and I'm already trying to figure out how I'm going to move the rest in the 2 days I have left with access to my old house. Then he says "It's going to be $1700. Honestly I should be charging you hazard pay, but I decided not to." Right, because doing half the job, and being jerks about it we should have paid them double. That seems legit. In the end I had to get other movers and pay them overtime and weekend rates to get the job done on schedule,. Additional cost after the "Friendly" movers had left was another $2000 to finish the job they couldn't bother to do. When I asked the second movers "College Hunks Hauling Junk" if anything was a problem or if mold was an issue or dirt they said "No, we have these magic things called gloves and masks that protect us...maybe your first movers hadn't heard of them? They're pretty rare and hard to get." I cannot possibly fathom how his move could have been any worse short of them just dumping my stuff onto the highway and charging me double for it.

This review is very false. the only true thing was that i didnt go to the house prior. he only called a few days before the move, and the only reason i had an opening was because 1 of our jobs got postponed because of a funding issue. this house was an absolute mess. there was poop everywhere. the house smelled horrible. there was mold. nothing was packed, most of their boxes were just open. we told him right away that we wouldnt go in the basement, because of the black mold. he had no problem with it then. his bill was NOT $1,700. Nobody said we dont move IKEA furniture. we did let them know that IKEA furniture isnt meant to be disassembled and reassembled over and over. i have pictures of how gross the house was for proof. we figured this guy was going to write some kind of false review. and you got a junk removal company to take your stuff. we dont put junk in our moving trucks, they do. we also do junk removal. if i would have known you needed that service, i would have sent the junk removal team. but there is no chance i would put your junk in our truck, and have it possibly contaminate another clients stuff. i value my clients too much for that. Ps. You said I asked if there was anything unusual to move. You left out that I also asked if there was anything anything out of the ordinary for us to consider for this move. This would have been a great time to mention black mold and a house full of poop. Rabbit or mouse or rat or anything else. Good luck

It went well the day of the move but so much was going on that day that we didn’t realize until the next day that they over charged us and damaged a good amount of furniture. I emailed them and told them they cracked the wood on my dining room hutch , broke a piece of wood off my office desk and broke a leg off one of our leather chairs. After my email Jeff said he would call us at 2pm the next day and now it’s been almost a month and I still haven’t heard from them. When I booked the move I wrote down the estimate he had given me on the phone and that estimate was $660 for the first 4 hours and $170 for every additional hour. After 8 hours the crew said they ran out of time, Jeff called me to collect the payment and he said the remaining was $1575.60 and I had gave a deposit of $80. I told him that sounded high and he listed all of these fees that were not discussed prior to the move. I was watching the clock as well and my calculations cam to $1340-$80 deposit =$1260 , so they over charge me $400 and said it was fees taxes and insurance. Not to mention after 8 hours the crew called it quits they still had not finished the job so we used a UHaul to finish moving the items they left behind . So you can see this was a very bad experience and I would not recommend them to anyone. My sister is moving and asked who we used and I told her to find someone else . I am now left with broken furniture and I was over charged, VERY BAD!

Almost all of this is fabricated. I did receive an email from him about a damaged item, a few days after the move. I was out of the office and asked him, in an email I still have, to call me after 2 the next day. He never called. Also, on the day of the move, nobody stopped until the job was done. We routinely do 8+ hour jobs, and would never just stop. At end of the move, my foreman walked the house with the owner, inspected everything, and the customer signed that he did so and that all was ok. All of this is readily available, in case anyone would like to see it. Thank you

The guys were great! We moved on a Friday and they gave us a confirmation call on Wednesday before the move. They also called on the day of the move to confirm arrival time - and they were exactly on time. Once they arrived they did a walk through of the house before they began loading the truck. All furniture was wrapped in plastic and/or blankets. The crew was professional, careful, courteous, and fast! The entire move took less than the estimated 4 hours.

John, Micah, and Trevor arrived promptly and worked hard. They wrapped my furniture in blankets and shrink wrap, unlike others who just shrink wrap. They didn’t rush, but kept moving, careful with all my things. My furniture is HUGE and heavy. They did a great job. They even helped out above and beyond the stuff in the house to be moved. They helped my dad carry in additional furniture and carried additional boxes already at the new place upstairs for me. I couldn’t have been happier with the service received!

The move was fine what happened afterwards is another story. They only take cash or credit card. I did not have the card with me so I went to the bank and withdrew 7 $100 bills. When it came time to pay all I had was the $100 bills. It came to $670. The job manager told me I'd get my change back, I am still waiting for my money. The move took place last June. The owner keeps telling me he sent it. The man is a liar a flat out liar, This is NOT fake.

Oh my. I have talked to this lady at least 10 times about this $30. I mailed a check out [Member Information Removed] different times. One came back as undeliverable, and the other is still out there. Every single time she left a voicemail, i immediately called her back. I even offered to hand deliver the $30. Not sure what else i can do.

They did a great job! Getting the desk out of the basement was a challenge, requiring removal of banisters, door, and door molding! They were very patient while we figured out what was going to fit in the pod, and what was being left behind. Once we had the big stuff in, we packed the boxes in and around everything else which worked out great. We never would have been able to handle putting the furniture into the pod alone as they were able to flip and stack it like a game of Tetris! Kevin and Dustin were great and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: The men moved an executive desk out of me y basement, plus other boxes and heavy file cabinets, took them to a storage unit and then packed up a pod being delivered to Texas.

Jeff is really easy to work with. He is very reachable and he likes to help people that are in a bind. On short notice he was able to get his guys to help me move out of an apartment. I had many large and heavy items, fridge, cabinets, tables, beds, washer/dryer etc. His men arrived promptly and got to work immediately. They were fast and professional. Everything was moved without damage. It should be noted that Jeff's prices are really reasonable. Much lower than all of the other movers I called. I highly recommend Piccolo's Friendly Movers.

Jeff's team did a great job under very difficult conditions (long steep driveway and 90 degree temps). They were professional, friendly, and worked hard. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a mover.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Read the reviews on Yelp.com. They are accurate. You will be quoted a low price and then once your belongings are in their possession the price will change and they will attempt to hold your items hostage until you pay. We priceshopped a few movers before choosing. Piccolo's was the only one to give a quote over the phone. We should have known better. We were moving from a three bedroom townhouse to a 4 bedroom home. We told the owner we had a very heavy safe (450lbs) We were told it was not a problem. we also said we had extensive gym equipment in the basement and gave a full description. We were told this was also not a problem as his company had experience moving several Golds Gym and Planent Fitness locations. We were told $585 for the first 4 hours and $140/hr after and that it should 5-6 hours with an absolute max of 7 hours total. Even the day before the move we called to confirm they were coming an we were told we were slotted from 7:30-2:00. They showed up punctually at about 7:30 with 4 guys and a liftgate truck. I signed a blank contract that had nothing filled out as far as price or materials, we were offered no form of insurance, and no inventory of our items was ever done. (We didn't realize these things should have happened until we read about movers after this was over) Things started off fine until they tried to move the safe. They were unable to pull it out of it's location, so my husband had to do it for them. Once they got it on the dolly they were unable to control it and damaged the threshold on the exterior door and broke the stone facing underneath it. The guys moving it were nice but were obviously inexperienced and ill-equipped to handle the task. After about 4 1/2 - 5 hours and the gym equipment is still being torn apart I began to raise concerns with them about the amount of time I was quoted for the move. One of the movers told me this happens frequently, that the owner will give a quote then once complaints are being made about the actual time and price he will demand payment. He said they just had it happen a few days before, the woman was quoted 7 hours and after it was obvious it was going to take much longer she was told to pay or have her belongings unloaded back into her driveway. He said it ended up taking them 12 hours. 3 out of the 4 movers also said they had no experience dissassembling gym equipment. (I actually took a video on my phone of this interaction because I was starting to get worried) One of them gave me Jeff's (the owner) cell phone number so I called and asked what was going on with the great disparity between the quote and the actual time it was taking? He said that he never quoted me that, asked how I got his personal number, told me to never call it again and hung up on me. We arrived at the new house at approximately 1 pm. my husband told me to just have them move the gym equipment into the basement and not have them set anything up because this was already taking far too long. By 2 pm one of the movers left. Soon after this the head mover Bob came in with his clipboard that had the contract on it which was still completely blank other than saying start time 7:30. He told me that I needed to pay and I told him I needed Jeff to call us back and talk to us because we needed to come to an agreement about the situation because we were now going to be way outside of our quoted time frame and we were now down 1 mover. Once we got Jeff on the phone he tried once again to say that he never quoted that price but then after a couple minutes of arguing back and forth about getting multiple quotes (the others were $1300 and $1800 and when I called to tell him he had the job we had a very specific conversation where I told him they blew everybody out of the water) and that we only went with him because of it, he said that he is very busy and he might have said it, but that he did it by accident and he didn't mean it. We also told him 1 of his guys had left and he said we would be credited for that. We also brought up the fact that the other reason we went with him was the experience with gym equipment. We told him his guys had said they didn't have experience with gym equipment and he got angry and said that his company has moved multiple gyms and we said well these guys haven't. He said I have 2 crews running I don't even know who's at your house. We said if you don't know who is here how do you know that these guys are the ones with experience. He immediately said put Bob on the phone. We gave the phone to Bob and after a brief conversation Bob turned to us after a few minutes with a now filled out contract with a few materials, times and dollar amounts and said we needed to pay $1296 or they were leaving immediately. I told him that this was ridiculous, that we needed to have a conversation and try to work something out Bob just kept saying if you don't pay us we are leaving. He then began trying to blackmail us saying if Jeff doesn't get paid we don't get paid we just busted our butts all day and you are going to stiff us. We said that was not the case at all but the current situation was ridiculous and completely unfair. He kept trying to make us feel badly by saying they were going to have worked all day for nothing. We insisted it was not our intention to not pay but the way the situation was being handled was completely unacceptable. He then said that they were leaving and taking the remainder of our belongings that were still on the truck, with them. My husband went and got on the back of the truck so they couldn't leave. they still had a mattress, box spring, 2 tvs, and 2 safes on the truck. Everybody came out to the truck including all movers and family members we had there helping. Bob kept telling us to pay and telling us we were going to be making them work for free all day. then after a few minutes the one mover said this was ridiculous, that he would help get the remaining items off the truck and the other joined in. we were able to get everything off except for the 450 lb safe because bob turned off the liftgate in the cab of the truck and wouldn't let the other guys near it. He then said the police were on their way. He then allowed my husband and the one mover to get the safe off of the truck. When the police arrived we told our side of the story and Bob told theirs. He just kept insisting that we needed to pay the $1296 We said that we would pay $860. The police told him that he was going to accept our payment and that they were going to leave and if the owner had an issue with payment he could take us to court. At first Bob didn't agree to these terms but then the officer insisted that this wasn't a negotiation that he was telling him that he would accept our payment and they would leave. Any further compensation could be dealt with legally. We felt badly for the other 2 movers as they were very nice and worked hard and they were very apologetic about the situation so we tipped each of them $50. For a job that was quoted at 5-6 hours with an absolute maximum of 7. After about 8.75 hours (we were billed for 10 which would have put them working until 30 minutes after the police had left) We were left with 2 beds not fully assembled, 1 not at all. 2 safes that were supposed to go upstairs in our garage and none of the gym equipment assembled. my best is estimation is that it would have taken another 3-4 hours to complete everything fully since they were down to 3 guys. With probably no possibility of getting the 450lb safe upstairs without us helping. We found out the next day the our 75" tv had been damaged, (the lcd panel is destroyed, we took pictures) We called Jeff to report the damage, he laughed and said if you say so told us we owed him $500 said he would see us in court and hung up. We then text a picture of the screen to him that show colored lines running vertically down the screen and pressure points along the top where it had been mishandled, he said he was blocking my number and we owed him $500. The tv is a Samsung UN75J6300 from 2015. on Amazon it is currently $2999.95 we called Bestbuy their best guess is about $100 for diagnostics and another $1500 to fix it. I am very sorry for the long winded review I have never written one before but this is the worst experience I have ever had with any company of any kind. On a day which should have been very exciting it became a nightmare. I simply do not want anybody to have an experience like the one we had. I have no clue how this company has positive reviews anywhere. It wasn't until afterward that I looked them up on Yelp and found all of those reviews are exactly like the experience we had. Attached is a picture of our damaged tv.

Haha. This review is so comical that it doesn't even deserve a response, but I will give one anyway Anyone who knows anything about moving knows it would take longer than 7 hours for 4 guys to move a 4 bedroom house, with a gun safe and a large gym. i never said anything about 7 hours, but told her that it would take approximately 5 hours to load, and approximately 3.5 hours to unload. She says we have no experience moving a gym, yet we(in the last 6 months) moved 3 planet fitness gyms and 2 Golds Gyms. The contract certainly was NOT blank. They signed it and the cop noted that. This "lady" and her husband, who the crew thought was on some sort of drugs, were the most lying customers I have ever dealt with. We were the ones who called the cops. Even though we were fully aware that this would be a civil matter, we felt that the husband was becoming a threat, so we called the cops(also, so we could have a record of this in court). Thanks for reading.
