Orkin Pest Control

2 puffs out a bedroom window by rep, said it came with guarantee, and couldn't clearly explain orkin program. 5 wks later and i notice bees back or never left. now orkin/york pa wants another $300 to come back. some guarantee. Bob M., Lititz PA

Initially, we felt the service was appropriate and signed up for the contract. However, as time went on, the technician, and then the supervisor as well, was rude. We were blamed for the recurring pest problems, which was ridiculous. We repeatedly asked what we could do to augment their services and did everything asked of us. We walked on eggshells when the technician was here, unsure what his mood would be that day. Finally, when the ants were still a major problem, and it was still our fault, we decided to switch companies. We should have done this a long time prior, but we tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. Lesson learned. Cost below is monthly contract.

I did not have a very good experience with them. They said they came back out and there was never a card on my door or, you know, that they were here or anything, so I was not happy with them. They said they came out -- they were supposed to come out a couple of times -- and the date they came out there was no note. It wasn't windy so there should have been something on my door saying that they were here and that they did the outside treatment. I don't have bugs, but they were just treating for different things just in case, I guess, like, ants or whatever. And they were supposed to come inside also, but I wasn't home apparently so they never finished the inside part of the treatment to check their little things that they had left here when they were here before. They did put insulation in, which was fine, you know, that was wonderful. They made a little bit of a mess but that is going to happen with insulation. But the fact that they hounded me about a bill instead of hounding me about coming back to complete the service that they didn't complete just rubs me the wrong way and I was not happy or pleased at all so I would never use them. At least the one in York, that was the York office so maybe they are not all like that, but somebody did not want to work that day, I guess or didn't really care about me being a customer. If you don't care about me I am not going to care about you either. The first time they came in February it was okay and they were supposed to come back in April and then they told me they were here on April 26 or something and I said no, they weren't here. They really weren't here. There is nothing outside that states you were here, there is no little pick in the yard, there is nothing on my porch, nothing on my door. Usually they put something saying that they were here and there was nothing. They said their tech said that he was here and I said, no, he wasn't, there is no evidence that he was here. The fact that they did not even call me to say they were there or email me and say they were here -- and then when can you come back to come inside to finish the completion of it -- he never did. They just called me and hassled me about a bill. So I am disgusted. The insulation was about $1,200 and it was about $154 for them to come back in April that they said they came back, but never did. I did not want to pay it, but I did because if I didn't pay it would reflect on my credit rating.

Their service is good. I will continue to use them in the future.
