Description of Work: Tami Behler came to meet with me as I'm interviewing realtors to market and sell my home. I asked Tami some pretty involved questions, but all to make a smart decision and protect myself from a realtor that was just going to put my house up on the MLS and sit back and wait for it to sell. I asked questions like "how many homes have you sold this year", "how long has your longest listing been on the market", "how many of your homs sold have sold at or close to the listing price", can I be copied on all marketing campaign material on my home" and I asked for references. Tami and I spent two hours together discussing marketing and how she goes above and beyond for her sellers. As she left my house, I reminded her that I needed a list of references that I could contact before I could get back to her. She told me she would have the list to me later that day. The evening of the next business day I still had not gotten the reference list from Tami, so I sent her a follow up email asking for it. I then recd an email back from Tami saying that she had to decine marketing my home as she doesn't have the time to dedicate to the sale. This came as a shock after she spent two hours telling me how she lives, eats and breathes real estate and this is her career. In my opinion, Tami talks a great game, however is one of the many agents that doesn't wantto work for their commission. I think my detailed questions and requirements for an agent turned her off and she knew I would hold her feet to the fire for the length of our contract. All in all, I'm glad I found out before signing on the line with Tami that she wasn't willing to put the time in that it requires to sell a home in this economy. Note: Tami, in her rejection email to me stated a further reason she wasn't interested in marketing my home is that a commission for a short sale, which is ultimately what the sale of my home will be catagorized as, is determined by the bank and is less than her normal commission of 6%. However, upon speaking with my bank, the commission they determine is 5% of the sale price, which I estimated to be about 500 bucks less in Tami's pocket. This obviously was an excuse to back out on me. If she was truly interested and committed to doing the work, why would she assume that her commission would be peanuts. Why not wait to see what the bank offered her before backing out? It clearly seems it was not a commission issue for Tami, but more of a work issue.

We made an appointment to meet with Glenda and she was right on time. We walked through the house and she took notes and made comments as we entered each room. My husband and I asked questions as we went along about what would make sense to do and what wouldn't and we felt like we got some excellent advice. We now have a list of projects to do that we've been working on to prepare our home for sale. Glenda also brought with her over 20 printouts of homes that are similar to ours (comps), to give us an idea of what the market in our immediate area was. This also gave us a very good idea of what kinds of features the homes around us have compared to what our home has. We discussed what kinds of upgrades made financial sense, as far as being able to get a higher selling price for the home. We came away from this experience feeling like Glenda had really done her homework, and that she knows what she is doing. We have a much better idea of what it makes sense to spend our money on to spruce up our home and get more bang for the buck.
Description of Work: We had requested that Glenda Kane, one of the Realtors there, come and look through our home to give us some ideas for what we should do to prepare our home for sale within the next few months.

Michael was a big help to us. He was patient with us, as we had a home to sell in a market that had gone down quite a bit. He always gave us his opinion and we felt that he was honest when he provided us with his thoughts. In the end we got the house we wanted at a fair price.
Description of Work: Michael Chiro was our agent for purchasing a home. He showed us many homes, helped us with a mortgage company, and provided us with remodelers.
