They tore up my basement walls to water proof and they put in two water pumps. When they got to the 2nd basement the ground turned into sand so they wanted extra money so I had to take out a third loan. The people are friendly but it cost me over 17000 dollars for two basements that don't look good and don't work!! My basement water is still leaking all over the place and not going into the pumps the provided. I would never higher them again they are pushy at times to buy certain products. I wish. I never hired them.

We had an initial estimate with the company - they were way over priced compared to other competitors. They insisted on coming out for a second time and promised a discounted rate (still way overpriced). The man was extremely, rude, pushy, and in all they took over 3 hrs of our time trying to get our business. We ended up going with another company (obviously) and they then continued to call me for months. I rec'd 3 additional phone calls telling me they had new discounts to offer. Each time I told them we had already had the work done and that we felt harassed and very bothered by the company. The 3rd call the guys even said he saw in the notes that I had told them we already had the work done, yet he still called me to follow up. I can't quite understand why they continue to harass us with their phone calls. This is the worst company that I have had the displeasure of working with in a long time.

This is an update to my initial review back on 12/2015. I was contacted by Mid-Atlantic concerning my dissatisfaction and after 3 attempts to rectify the situation a manager named Dan responded to my residence to look at my concerns and numerous complains. I must say that the remedy offered to correct my problem was to redo the job in its entirety and to my ultimate satisfaction at no cost to me. Mid-Atlantic stands behind their product and workmanship. In these time it is good to know that there are companies who put customer satisfaction first. I highly recommend this company to take care of your basement waterproofing needs.

I thought the office staff and engineer who came out were very professional and very helpful. They tried to minimize the dirt/dust as much as possible and did everything they promised. I had subsequent issues with my tenant and they jumped in and made every effort to resolve any issues. I was please with their work and willingness to help me. they also helped with financing and fully answered my questions and addressed my concerns.

MidAtlantic offered us our first free consultation at a home show. After the inspector came in, we explained that we were having issues with one small area of our basement. After our discussions, he tried to convince us of the worst case scenario, i.e. completely flooded basement is only a matter of time. He continued to point out areas where no issues were noted. While we acknowledge that other areas may be an issue in the future, there was an immediate need in only one small section. Instead of inspecting and quoting based on small area, he recommended a full basement management system which was quoted at 19K. We felt as though he didn't understand the issue and what we were mainly concerned with. While we certainly appreciate the advise that sometime in the future, we MAY have issues, it does not provide justification to us to spend 19K. The next day, we received a call from the home office. Apparently, the Chief Inspector wanted to come to our home and talk about a different offer and/or lowering the price. After receiving such an astronomically large original quotes, we determined that there was nothing the company could propose that we would consider or trust them within our home. We have received three other separate quotes from highly rated Angie's list providers. All were within 2K - 4K range. When I mentioned the huge quote I had received from MidAtlantic (without mentioning their name) to the other companies, they immediately responded with, "Was it MidAtlantic?" Seems that even within the small world of basement water proofing, they have a reputation of high quotes/all inclusive work scope. Please be mindful before choosing MidAtlantic.

The inspection was a disaster. They insisted on having my wife and I sit down to discuss what they wanted to do. I even told the salesman that my wife didn't really care as long as the basement was dry. This guy insisted so we listened. Then once he gave me the 14,000 or 15,000 estimate it became like buying a car. I told him that I should just go buy a new house and forget this basement so he began talking about discounts and after about an hour of saying no we were down to 11,000 or so. I finally told him that I was not signing anything that day and I was going to look around. He became angry and stormed from our home, refusing to give me his number so I could call him back if we wanted to use them. About a week later I received a phone call from the company and I told them all of this and how unhappy I was. They sent out a "Supervisor" likely a second salesman because I told them I would throw the salesman out if they sent one. The supervisor told me the cost would be around 10,000. This is the game they play and I feel sorry for the people who have used them and did not attempt to negotiate with them. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR PATENTED PRODUCTS. It is a scam to have you sign a contract that night so the salesman can make their money. This company has been around for a long time because they have perfected the scare tactic and their sales pitch. I am sure their system works because they are almost all the same. I have spoken to five other companies all suggesting the same system. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THESE GUYS!!!
Description of Work: I initially called them to come to my house to give me an estimate and an idea with how my basement can be fixed. I had water coming in from the floor and walls. They sent out a salesman that tried to scare me to death. They made it sound like my house was going to fall down and needed to be fixed immediately. I would suggest that you call other companies before you call or use these guys. The salesman essentially just tried scaring me and got extremely angry when I didn't sign a contract that night to have them start. I hope you never call this company unless you want to pay a lot of money.

Well the first crew were an unprofessional group of young men. They put in the trac around the lowere wall alright, But the work was sloppy, they had gaps between the tracs, did not have pieces against the wall, installed two pumps that we are supposed to keep priming(we have been told by another person in that field that the pumps can cause us serious damage if we do have water). They left our basement a mess.We were told they would clean up after themselves. They took our good exstentioncord and left us afaulty one. The second crew came out after we called and complained about the job. They came put a couple screws in the wall and left.We kept calling Midatlantic to get someone higher up to come see what we were complaining about. They finally sent out someone who did agree we had a legit complaint .He gave us a list with about ten things the third crew should correct. When the third crew came out they arrived around 9am,looked around for about half an hour, then went and sat in their truck for over two hours. They finally came in did two or three things on the list ,had to run to a hardware store, was gone for about 45 minutes ,went back to the basement (did about an half an hours work and left. They did not do the complete list of corrections, they told us they were only given a short list.Every time we call to talk to someone in charge we get the run around. They offered to send out a fourth crew,my opinion for the amount of money we paid it should have been done right the first time.

Description of Work: 2 Reps continuously pressured me...started with a cost of approx $7800 and when I did not agree they asked me what price could I afford. Then they began to reduce the cost again and again. I explained that they were my first estimate and I intended to get other providers costs. They would not leave and kept pressuring me. After about an hour of discussion, I finally told them I was not interested in their ethics or services and asked them to leave.

Very laborious job. Workers were very professional and hard working, completing the job in two days. Prior to jackhammering, they covered everything with plastic to keep the dust from covering basement contents. Cleanup was very good, and they explained the various steps of the process as they were being done. Was told that the work was guaranteed, and that if I ever had a problem, that they would address the problem at no charge. There was a follow up call from the office asking my assessment of the job. Waiting to see if the system works during the spring thaw. It"s been over a month with no water leakage in the basement.
Description of Work: Waterproofed interior basement walls by jackhammering 18" of concrete around 3 exterior walls, digging a trench, installing black, flexible piping which had holes to receive water, drilled holes in base of wall & installed plastic weeping ports in the drilled holes to let water trapped inside block wall to drain into trench & piping. Had to pour concrete barrier against base of wall due to not having a true footer, & also to prevent any sediment from blocking the piping. Dug a sump pit & a pump which collects the water to be pumped out to the exterior yard. Install stone & track system over piping, cement over track system to level of existing floor. Had to remove concrete, clay in 5 gallon buckets out of basement due to only one exit which was through the kitchen pantry. Hand hauled stone & bags of concrete to basement.

I don't like them. Again, we were concerned about house and the basement and we're not sure if they treated them as they should have as far as quarantine element or get them evaluated and had no evidence they took care of that properly. I don't think that the end result was exactly the same of the salesman had promised. They drunk my beer, opened my refrigerator and got my beer, and they hit the bottles. They are really small younger guys and I ended up finding one beer bottle in a weird place and there were 5 more of them on another corner of the basement and there's no way that I put them there, and then where we find another beer bottle or not, my wife called the boss and the boss didn't answer the call. I did call, did complain, and the boss asked me what kind of beer and did replaced it. I was pissed because they basically stole from me. I haven't needed them to come back for any reason. They were charming the whole tie they were here but when ever they're here my beer is stolen.

The workers were efficient in what they did. They also were very clean. In addition, they patched some existing cracks in the wall with a product that does not match the existing mortar of the wall. Once the work was done, we had some questions and concerns about the work and they were quick to respond to fix the issues. They were right in line with other estimates. They also got the work done within the timeframe they specified, which was a total of three days. On the two walls they did, they have a lifetime guarantee, which is transferable to the first new buyers of the house.

The inspector who came to our house used very high pressure sales tactics to sign us on; in retrospect, I wish we had waited and pursued additional estimates before signing the contract. If Mid-Atlantic truly believes in their product and its value, they should be honest and not use these kinds of tactics. The workers were independent contractors, I discovered, not employed directly by Mid-Atlantic at all. They were extremely courteous, clean and professional. They also worked like dogs, 12 to 14 hours each day. They appeared to be under a great deal of pressure to get a very difficult and dirty job done with minimal support from the company. Mid-Atlantic called me after the work was completed to ask me how it went. When I asked about the company's treatment of the workers who actually perform the service, the representative got very huffy with me. It's clear that they treat the men who do the work little better than slaves; they have no benefits from the company, and are paid as little as the company can get away with. Meanwhile, Mid-Atlantic charged me top-dollar for these services. I would like to see them take less profit and create better working conditions and with a stronger living wage for the people who actually perform the work. I also would like to see Mid-Atlantic change its high-pressure sales tactics. The work that was done appears to be well-done, though we haven't yet had any rains to test it out.

this was a true horror experience. Lon was the name of the salesperson who came and also showed us all his and quot;specialand quot; patented devices (he even whipped out a fortune 500 magazine to show us how 'great' their company was). several times i asked him to give me a ballpark estimate for the work after he looked at our basement. He said he couldn't until he gave me the full details of the work they would do (i.e., HARD sales pitch). my family came home at 5pm (my husband picked up the kids from daycare). HE LITERALLY WOULD NOT LEAVE OUR DINING ROOM TABLE AS I WAS PUTTING FOOD ON THE TABLE FOR THE KIDS!) WE ASKED HIM TO LEAVE SEVERAL TIMES AND HIS RESPONSE WAS and quot;I UNDERSTAND.. I UNDERSTAND... WHAT WOULD IT TAKE FOR YOU TO SIGN THIS CONTRACTand quot; My husband even said, and quot;there is NO way this is going to happen with your approach to business. Even if God himself came down and made this offer I would still need a day or two to think about itand quot; ...and that is a QUOTE. I thought we were going to have to forcibly remove him from our home. stay far away from mid-atlantic.... actually the middle of the atlantic is probably where THEY should stay. horrible horrible experience!

Here at Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing we take great pride in our inspectors. Lon has been with is for a long time and is extremely knowledgeable. We believe not educating customers would be a disservice. We would just like to point out that we are not a Fortune 500 company. You may be thinking of Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500, in which we rank highly every year. We are confused as to your ratings, as well. You rated us ‘F’ on Responsiveness, Punctuality, and Quality. From the records, we show that Lon arrived at your home on time the day after you called for your Free Home Inspection. You also opted to not sign a contract with us, so there was no ‘Quality’ of work to be examined. You asked for a ballpark quote, which is against company policy. There is no way that Lon would have been able to figure out a number without seeing your water problem first hand.
