Merry Maids of York

They did a good job. They were great, very accommodating and their prices were reasonable. But the prices change with how frequently you have them. They let our dogs out, they would bring dog treats over, they just went above and beyond.

We started with their service over a year and half ago and it got to the point we couldn't tell If they cleaned or not. We filled out several bad reviews and sent them to the office manager but she didn't care to retain our services. Save yourself the time and look at other companies.

While they went through and inspected my house, we went over what we wanted cleaned and what cleaning products to use. They cleaned my floors with a chemical that I did not authorize and it ended up ruining two of my floors. I am now in the process of hiring a company to replace the damaged floors.

Overall they are above average. The price is high but they are reliable and gives good service. They are prompt and attentive to my needs and questions.

They were very sound. They came and were reliable, got everything done they said they would do.

They do their job. They are a good company to work with. We would use their services again in the future.

They glossed over the surface of floors and walls. When my mother was unable to remain in her house I moved her things out and prepared the house for sale. I found hardened sugar and flour in one area on the vinyl floor 1/4 inch thick and instant oatmeal mix that had hardened 1/8 inch thick under the kitchen cupboards. It looked like they had accumulated and hardened over a period of time and likely were there before Merry Maids even started. However, it appeared as if they only gave a cursory wipe to surfaces and left behind anything that did not come up easily. Carpet was only vacuumed with no attempt to clean any spots or spills. Counters and dining tables & chairs, sliding glass door tracks and foyers do not appear to have been cleaned at all. Spills on kitchen counters were left there.

I used this service for a few months, but it was too expensive for the quality of work performed. They did clean everything that was requested, but some details were overlooked. I would hire again but knowing what to expect.

We bought a new home and we needed it thoroughly cleaned. To be fair, the walls were smudged with black scuff marks in some areas quite heavily (i.e the coat closet) and the previous owners were simply not kind to the walls. What I am pleased with: 1. They did clean the walls fairly well, the problem is that the company did not inform us that their workers would only be permitted to wipe walls from the 5 foot mark and down. This made it impossible to get rid of all the cobwebs, we still have spiders parachuting every now and again. 2. The lady who met with us to set up the appointment was very very personable. 3. They set up the appointment immediately! 4. They provided an extra receipt when I lost mine. What I am less than pleased with: 1. $900 is a little much to clean a 4 bedroom house. (I expected white glove service, and they did not deliver) 2. Some of the detail work we asked for was forgotten. 3. The garage was not swept, the toilets were not cleaned, the top of the cabinets weren't touched, vents on the outside were left as is,...
