+ -1 moreInstalled high efficiency furnace 2 years ago but never attached vertical ductwork from furnace to horizontal run. Recently realized there was heat blowing out from under my mobile home. There is also air from under the trailer being sucked into the ducts blowing unfiltered alergians along with fiberglass insulation directly into our house.

Ernie was our technician. He was extremely professional and friendly. He used shoe covers when walking upstairs and covered the area where he worked. He quickly identified the problem and had our shower working perfectly within the hour. We will definitely use this company for our next plumbing need.
Description of Work: The hot water in our shower was no longer working. They replaced a part that controlled the flow of hot versus cold water.

+ 1 moreThe service person (Tom) was polite and professional, even though he was on call and had to run back to York from his home. He answered every question I had with respect and patience and did a great job on the valve repair. I figured while he was there, I'd ask if he could replace a washer in a very leaky hot water faucet and he was happy to do it. I tried a different plumbing group a couple of years ago for a job I had but wasn't happy and went back to Gohn & Stambaugh.
Description of Work: It was an emergency call to replace a stuck pressure relief valve on a water heater I had purchased from them in 2010. Also he replaced a washer in my tub faucet.

+ 0 moreG&S is my ?go-to? plumber and they always do excellent work. This job was a little bigger than what they normally do for us however we had confidence that they would do a nice job based on previous experiences. This confidence was well founded. They replaced our old shower enclosure, the drain and the fixtures and the end result is fantastic looking. The employees were friendly, knowledgeable and made sure that the job was done right. The installer, Ed, took great care to be careful and made sure that he made as little dirt as possible while demoing the old shower which was appreciated. During the installation of the walls, Ed found a flaw in the Swanstone and immediately pointed it out to my wife and me. The service manager had just stopped by the job and together we discussed options. While the scratch could be sanded out and looked pretty good, we were concerned about long term appearance and ultimately wanted a replacement. G&S did not hesitate to reorder the part to ensure that we were happy with the final product of course at no cost to us. Very professional! The only downside was long lead times for the Swanstone wall kit which was out of G&S's control and frustrated them as much as it did us. We plan to have G&S replace our bathroom sink and fixtures next year. I recommend G&S without any hesitation. They will do a fine job.

+ 0 moreThey came out and gave us one of 3 estimates. We chose them because of the good price and 10 year parts and labor warranty. They set up a time and did the work in 2 days. After the first day I realized they removed our original humidifier and hepa filter. We called and left a message. The next morning they returned with both items and reinstalled them. They were very friendly and professional. We have since called with a plumbing problem in our bathroom and again they did an excellent job repairing a badly installed pipe from a previous company. I feel we have found our go-to plumbing and heating company.

+ 1 moreOur old heat pump broke. Gohn and Stambaugh installed a new one that is quite energy efficient. When the heat of the summer hit, we noticed that the heat pump noise became quite loud inside the house. I sent them an email from their web site. Within hours I got a call, and two days later, first thing in the morning a service call was made. The technician took his time and adjusted the pump and other items. The pump has been quiet since then. The people at Gohn and Stambaugh acted professionally. The listened to our concerns, and acted upon them promptly. I would not hesitate to use them again.

+ -1 moreCalled at 11:00 AM with emergency pipe burst. Placed on waiting list and told would be called before coming out. Called at 3:00 PM and told should arrive at 3:30 PM. Was right on time. Got straight to work and was polite, patient and completed work in short period of time. Tested pipes for leaks. Wrote up ticket. I paid with check and he was on his way. Experience was excellent for such a stressful situation. Cost was very reasonable and considering a significant number of local homeowners having the same problem, was actually handled in short period of time.

He also tested how cold the air was that was coming out of the vents which showed me that the problem was indeed fixed. He was friendly and efficient and I would definitely call them again if I have a problem with my ac or heating.

He even looked briefly at the furnace when we said it was 21 years old he said that we probably should have that checked out. He explained about the new something required by the government. + -1 moreTwo guys came early in the morning. They put tarps from the front door, up the steps, through the dining room and into a bedroom and into a closet as to not get the floor dirty. They started tearing out everything that needed to be gone from the attic so they could install a new Central Air Conditioning Unit. I thought by the looks of it they were tearing my house apart but they said they had to make room for the new unit. I couldn't believe the amount of stuff they carried out of the attic and then again, the amount of stuff they carried in for the new unit. They most likely spent one day working inside and one day working outside. Before you could see the tubing going from the Unit up the side of the house to the attic because it was black but now the pipe is encased in white that matches our siding; it is much less noticeable. I am very happy with the way the new unit works. It works 100% better than the old unit. My only problem is that we should have had it replaced a long time ago. We will get many years out of this unit.

The next morning I got a call from Stambaugh's for service that day. Gary came out a little after noon, and was thorough in looking at the outside unit as well as listening to me about what I had already checked and the issue. He was very respectful yet friendly and professional. It turned out I only needed a part replaced, which he had in his truck. So in less than an hour I had AC again!

The representative that called was knowledgeable and patient as we were trying to figure out the issue and any potential solutions. Based on the cost of repair and the typical life span of a water heater, we chose to have a new water heater installed. The estimator called the next day, first thing in the morning, as agreed. This made us very happy. The appointment was scheduled for early afternoon on the same day. The installation and clean up was professional. We have had this company at our house for other projects and will continue to use them.
Description of Work: Our 12 year old gas water heater was failing. We opted to replace the water heater with a similar new water heater.

Description of Work: You don't get much better service and quality than these guys. They were terrific! The gentleman that came out to give us an estimate was very nice and gave us several options for our new air conditioning and heating needs. I wish I could remember their names, but alas old age creeps in!! He emailed us within the alloted time we gave him for a contract price. We did contact one other company but decided to go with this company based on their reputation in York County, where we live. My mother had also used them and recommended them. The technicians arrived at the time they had indicated. They were quiet, respectful and very nice. There was 2(two) technicians. They put drop cloths down on our floors under the work areas and let us know when there would be any loud noise. (Hammering, drilling, etc.) They left our home for lunch, but tucked their work items away out of the traffic flow in our home. At the end of each area of work (We had 4 work areas), they would carefully pick up their drop cloths as to not let any debris fall onto the floor. Then they would throughly vacuum the area. They would also perform this routine at the end of the day at the work area. The job took exacty the indicated amount of time that was contracted. This is a great company and one to seriously consider when getting any work done to your home. The quality of the workmanship and professionalism of all the employees was outstanding.

+ 0 moreI had a malfuction with my previous gas furnace. When this was repaired it was found that I had a CO leak due to corrosion in the furnace. When I learned that the system was twenty one years old I decided to renew not only the gas furnace but also the AC system. Not only would I be getting a new system but a more efficient system, especially the AC side. Not knowing the exact age of the water heater I still decided that it was problably ten or more years so I changed that also. The work was done in two days. The mechanics were very professional and worked very efficiently. They left the work site very clean. Overall, a very comendable job.

They wre not the least expensive but we had some history of working with this company so we decided to work with them. Bill and Corey spent the next two days removing the old system and installing the new system.They were precise in their work, cleaned up as they went, and explained in detail how the new system works. They also supplied me with the necessary paperwork and details to apply for the First Energy Energy Saving Rebate of $300.00 which we received in December.

+ -1 moreMy installation was a challenge due to the hydronic coil I wanted for backup/emergency heat. There was not room on the plenum to re-install the humidifier so it was relocated to the return air duct. I know it is not an optimim place for the humidifier but it is the only possibly location. The guys had a shortage of parts on the truck and had to come back the next day. Considering the challenge they faced, they did a great job and the unit works very well in the airconditioning mode through the hottest days in July. I'd use these folks again in a New York Second. For reference their bid was considerably less than the folks referred by the big box discount chain who I believe very liekly makes a hefty "commission".
Description of Work: Complete replacement of 20 year old air conditioner with high efficiency heat pump.
