ARTESIAN FACTORY OUTLET

We purchased an inground pool from Artesian on Loucks Rd., York, PA. Jeff was the store owner or Manager who sold us the pool kit that was installed by a contractor. He talked us into a Cartridge filter system with a 1hp motor and the Pool Frog Chlorine system. The pool was installed in a timely manner. But once it was installed, we had problem after problem. Our pool continually had algae blooms. We never had a full week of swimming without having an issue and it took a good week (or more) to get the pool cleaned up. Finally, Jeff came out in September to look at the pool. He said it was because we didn't landscape around the pool and the dirt was causing our problems. Well... what could we say?? we couldn't fight that. So we purchased the best safety cover we could fine and closed the pool. March of this year we had the hardscape and landscaping done. No dirt in sight. This year??? (2015) We opened the pool the first week of May. No Algea but had some sediment at the bottom of the pool. Problem is, when you vacuum it up, it also stirs it up. it took 2 weeks for our system to filter it clean. We swam for a few days and had a few really warm days. Guess what??? Algea bloom. Here we go again. 2 weeks to get it clean again. 5 good days of swimming and back to yellow/green water. I finally had Monica from A&M Pools come out. First thing she said is... "That filter and pump is for an above ground pool!!!" "I have NEVER seen that on an inground pool in my life!" That is exactly what I was trying to tell Jeff at Artesian! He will flat our deny it! Long story short!!! DO NOT BUY AN INGROUND POOL FROM ARTESIAN. They will make you feel like you are an idiot and keep coming up with reasons why it's not their fault... but yours.

THEY SOLD US AN INCOMPLETE AND ILLEGAL (DOES NOT MEET PA STANARDS) SYSTEM. I'M A FIRST TIME POOL OWNER. PA STANDARDS REQUIRE INSTALLATION OF A "WATER BOND" AND LOCATION OF THE FILTRATION SYSTEM AT LEAST 4 FEET FROM THE SIDE OF THE POOL. THEY DID NOT INCLUDE A WATER BOND KIT ( WHICH IS INSTALLED INSIDE THE FILTRATIO SYSTEM) WITH THE PURCHASE, AND THE HOSES THEY PROVIDED WERE TOO SHORT TO ALLOW THE FILTRATION SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED 4 FEET FROM THE POOL. ADDITIONALLY, I PURCHASED AN UPGRADE PACKATE ($1000) WHICH INCLUDED ITEMS THAT COULD NOT BE USED WITH THE POOL. FIRST THE POOL VACUUM THEY SOLD ME WAS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE STEPS THEY SOLD US. SECOND, THE AUTOMATIC TIMER TO TURN THE POOL ON AND OFF, COULD NOT BE SET BY TIME, BUT ONLY BY NIGHT OR DAY. THIRD, THEY SOLD ME "Ladder Weights" that were supposed to help stabilized the ladder on the bottom of' the pool which with submerged in the water provided virtually no weight variance/effect once submerged. BUT THE THING THAT HAS ME MOST DISCUSTED IS THE ABSOLUTE HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE..PARTICULARLY BY THE STORE ASSISTANT MANAGER. WHEN I TRIED TO DISCUSS THE SHORTCOMING OF WHAT I FELT WERE LEGITIMATE ISSUES, HE COMPLETELY BLEW ME OFF. QUOTE: WE DON'T CARE ABOUT STATE REGULATIONS, AND I'M NOT GOING TO GET IN A DISCUSSION WITH YOU ON THIS" AND THEN WALKED AWAY. THE QUALITY OF THE POOL ITSELF IS GOOD. EVERY THING ELSE....ACCESSORIES, CUSTOMER SERVICE, ETC. ARE UNBELIEVEABLY HORRIBLE. I HAVE SINCE FOUND ANOTHER LOCAL POOL SERVICE THAT WERE VERY COOPERATIVE AND INDICATED TO ME THAT THEY HAD HEARD MANY HORROR STORIES ABOUT THIS OUTFIT. OBVIOUSLY, I'LL NEVER GO BACK.
