Allensworth Heating & Air Conditioning

They did a great job. When they were out in winter to fix our furnace, they noticed our AC unit was going to go bad soon, so they came back in the spring to install a new one. They even moved it to a new location and got rid of the old one for us. We've been working with them for about 3 years, and we'd recommend them to anyone.

My unit has been working fine since then. They were on it and worked to resolve the problem.

An Allensworth employee arrived about 2 hours late to our scheduled service time on 11/23/2012 to start off & our appointment was the first one of the day. I showed the employee that there was some sort of fluid leaking from the furnace, he didn't know what to do or check, so Chris Allensworth had to come out at a later date to troubleshoot the leak. When Chris checked the furnace, he said we have a fuel leak. Now this furnace was installed by Allensworth Heating & Cooling on 4 April 2007, not even 6 total heating seasons on a brand new furnace. After about 2 months of excuses and about 4 different attempts to find the cause of the leakage, Chris gave up, told us we need to get a different company in to find what is wrong that this furnace and walked away from the problem. Chris seemed to have no concern about a furnace leaking fuel oil being a fire hazard, nor any concern about it being on our concrete floor. One of Chris' visits to try to figure out the problem, he said the furnace was out of level, which his company installed & it is setting on a concrete basement floor, with his company being the only persons to service the furnace since it had been installed, go figure that one out. In my opinion this is VERY POOR service for someone you had install the new furnace & service it every year to make sure we would have no issues like this. The only good things about this experience was Allensworth didn't charge us anything for his so called trouble shooting and servicing & we found a more reputable company that seems to care and found numerous issues with the furnace that Chris couldn' t find. We don't mind spending money for maintainance, but appearantly it was not being done correctly by Allensworth, because the other company found that the heat exchanger was cracked when Chris said he checked it & it was NOT cracked, JUST AMAZING!!!! Also, when I contacted Allensworth to ask about the warranty & furnace registration, he said that I have all the copies & that the furnace didn't need to be registered for the warranty even though when he installed the furnace, he said he takes care of all the registration & any paperwork on the furnace in our file, so why does the manufacturer put registration info with the new units? My advice to anyone looking for an HVAC company, STAY WAY CLEAR of Allensworth Heating & Cooling if you would like your costly, newly installed units to last. Allensworth Heating & Cooling started out as a likeable company to deal with, but in the last couple of years has changed to the negative side of taking care of their returning customers & the products they installed, it seems to get in the way of the new work the company is getting. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would NOT advise anyone to use their services, point blank!!!!!!
