Great. Dougs crew is first rate. They showed up and each knew their job. It was a very efficient operation to watch. The mess was kept to a minimum by the strategic placing of several tarps around the job, and any mess that escaped was thoroughly cleaned up by the crew including sweeping with a large magnet for nails. Doug was very reasonable to deal with. I recommend these guys highly.

From the outset the entire team was very professional and courteous. The owner and his employees are friendly and very accommodating. They arrived on time and worked with minimal breaks. They worked 10-hour days Monday-Thursday so they could have Fridays off. They took their time to do the job right, with no re-dos needed. Our punch-list items at the end of the job were taken care of promptly. This wasn't our first major construction project, and bar none Weaver is the best construction firm we've ever worked with. There were a lot of custom details in our project like a heated bathroom floor, log siding, stone veneer on the front stoop, pocket interior doors, and a round-top entry door. The crew met every challenge and exceeded our expectations every time. We can't think of any aspect of the job that we aren't happy with.
Description of Work: They built us a large addition with a full basement underneath a new master bedroom, a full bath, a large sunroom with a woodburning stove, a walk-in closet, and a butler's pantry with wet sink. They also built us a large screened porch with an enclosed walkway and steps leading to the addition, and they rebuilt our front stoop to extend over the front steps. They joined the addition to the existing house by cutting through the stone rear wall on both the main and basement levels, a big job in itself.

The job went very well. We were doing some of the renovation work ourselves and Doug worked around our schedule without any problem. His two employees (Dan and Gary), came when they said they would and were professional and courteous. When they left in the evening they always cleaned up the work area. We are contemplating, in the future, renovating another bathroom in our home and would definately use Weaver Construction again.
Description of Work: Master bathroom renovation involving tearing out all old tile on floor and walls. Removed bulkhead and ceiling. Installed new plumbing and electrical wiring, including replacing a cracked sewer line. Installed new shower pan, new lighting fixtures and all new plumbing fixtures.

Our dishwasher supply line broke and flooded our kitchen ruining the floor. Water ran through the floor into the finished basement and destroyed the basement ceiling, carpet, etc. It also ran into the downstairs bathroom and laundry room. The insurance adjuster recommended Weaver Building and Remodeling. We were very happy with his initial work. Since we had to get so much of the basement redone because of the water damage, we had him do additional remodeling. We had planned on redoing the basement a few years down the road, and we realized this was the time to do it. Doug was very good at getting back to us if he wasn't able to take our calls immediately (which he usually did). He was also very patient with us as we changed our minds about things several times during the project. Our water heater stopped working the day of the flood which was weird, but I thought it was probably just a coincidence. I mentioned it anyway just because. Doug called the manufacturer of the water heater and in talking to them decided that the control box of the water heater got damaged in the flood. He was able to get us a new water heater since they didn't sell that control box anymore. We didn't have to talk to the insurance company about it (or anything else) as it was all handled without our input. (The insurance company was great to us also.) I was really apprehensive during this work since I've heard so many horror stories about contractors. I worried for nothing since everything turned out great. We would certainly use Weaver Building and Remodeling again without any reservations. We love our new improved basement and getting our lives back to normal has been helpful to our sanity.
Description of Work: Removed all the lower cabinets and old flooring in kitchen. Installed new flooring and reinstalled cabinets. New drop ceiling in three rooms of basement. Installed new carpet. Moved a wall in the basement. Ran wiring and installed new lighting in ceiling. Put in new water heater. Painted doors and paneling in basement. Installed new trim. Looked to find hidden water damage by removing paneling, cutting small holes in wall, etc.

Had a problem with a nest of bees that made their home in the ceiling of a small bedroom. The house had been empty for many years and the hive was quite large. I had a beeman remove the hive, but it required him to cut a hole in the bedroom ceiling. So I needed someone to prevent the bees from returning, remove any remaining honeycomb, and repair the room. Unfortunately, I had trouble finding a contractor who was willing to work with me since I am located in New Jersey. Doug Weaver was willing to work with me. Since the house was empty, he could stop & start the project as he needed, but he did not delay in the repairs. He started before I expected him to, and I understand his workers even worked on weekends! (I have a neighbor who acts as caretaker & kept me up to date on the progress). We were able to communicate by phone to get the job done in a timely manner. I will be more than willing to work with Doug again, since my old house has many projects that still need completion!
Description of Work: Removed damaged plaster-&-lathe ceiling in bedroom; insulated ceiling & replaced with sheetrock; sheetrocked walls & painted entire room. Also closed up hole on the outside of house where bees were entering.

We contracted Weaver to remove an 8' x 8' non load-bearing wall between the kitchen and living room to give us more space, and to install new doors. The crew arrived on the day and time scheduled and started work immediately on the wall removal. They had the wall down and removed in a few hours. Plumbing needed to be done to remove a section of hot water baseboard heater, which was subcontracted to Weaver Plumbing. The wall and heating situation was done in 8 hours. The crew offsite had come in to measure to make the faux beam and finish work, and had it up by the end of the day. They matched the stain color to a near perfect match of the kitchen cabinets, and finished it with varnish. After drying, it needed another coat and they returned promptly. It looks amazing and has totally transformed the living space. The only thing I would have corrected was if they had taken a bit more time to mask off for the staining since a lot of it bled under the tape and got on our plaster walls and was not possible to touch up since it kept bleeding through the paint. It's not really noticeable unless you look closely. The second round of work, which occurred a couple weeks later, was to replace old interior and storm doors on the main and secondary entrances to our home. Doug Weaver dropped off catalogs of doors for us to look through and then consulted with us over the phone about our selections. He got back to us in a few days with prices. Once we made our selection, he placed the order and a week or so later called to scheduled the installation. His crew arrived on the scheduled date, on time, and began work immediately. They completed the installation of all four doors in one day. One of the storm doors wasn't closing properly after the crew left, so we called Doug and the installer returned the next day and fixed the problem. The crews for both projects arrived promptly, were courteous and respectful, and did great clean up and removal work. Doug checked in frequently and inspected the final results as well. Questions we had were answered promptly. We will definitely hire Weaver Builders again.

Workers showed up early every day and worked through some rain and cold. The work was completed in 5 days even with the weather. And cleanup was thorough. All were very courteous and diligent. They did a great job! I would highly recommend this builder/roofer anytime. He is honest and reliable.
Description of Work: Very prompt reply to request of estimate for roof repair and siding repair. There was hail damage to the 3 section roof and 2 sides of the home that I was not aware of until just before leaving for the winter. The work estimate was the same as the insurance estimate so no inflation of charges. All work was completed within 3 weeks of first contact.
