We called Randy hoping he could come sometime that week to repair one door in our old West Philly home whose hinges had pulled out of the door frame. What we got was Randy, that very same day, who proceeded to fix the door, then ask if anything else needed fixing, and all of the sudden all of those tasks that had piled up and we had just grown used to being broken (see list above) were carefully, thoughtfully and cleanly fixed by Randy! That he did it all with such good cheer while our two kids, 4.5 yrs old and 2.5 yrs old, would not leave him alone because they were so fascinated by him was just icing on the cake. He even let them press the button on his drill and "help" with one repair (they were in heaven!!!!). We will definitely be calling him for work in the future.

Great! He was a great repair person, even more amazing with our kids, and then sought out extra work and fixed little things that were annoying us for years but didn't even know could be fixed. A great experience all around!

Excellently! I had been trying to find a contractor to repair the flooring on the second floor since August. I had a list of about 12 handymen referred by Angie's List. One was tied up until the third week of September, so we agreed on the third week. I started calling him the second week of September to confirm. After leaving messages on Angie's List and leaving two voice mails without any response, I began looking again. Three providers did not work in Philadelphia. Finally, as I was going down my list, I contacted Randy Schaff, Handyman. From the start, I was impressed. First, because he did not hesitate when I explained about these long squeak no more screws that could be installed directly through carpet to tighten weak floor boards and stop squeaky floors. He responded, "Yes, I have them on my truck. " Well, at last, there is someone in the business who knows what I am talking about when I explained about the long screws that could go directly through carpet into the floor boards around the joist, break off below the subfloor and stop the floor from squeaking. Randy did not hesitate; he knew exactly what I was talking about. We discussed the work I wanted done. Within a week, I was on his schedule. Randy and his partner showed up and completed the work. I read a lot of reviews on Angie's List. Most of the reviews comment on punctuality and professionalism, which is good. I'm not knocking that. Randy more than met being punctual and professional, he was thorough, helpful, and comfortable with himself, which made me feel right at home around him. Another thing I liked about Randy was the fact that he texts information, thus providing quick feedback, and quick responses to questions. Would I hire Randy again-ABSOLUTLEY! If you are looking for a thorough knowledgeable, confident handyman, try Randy Schaff Handyman. You will not be disappointed. His pricing is, in my opinion, very fair. He and his partner were at the worksite an entire day, 9:30 until after 4pm and completed six plus small jobs, and three big jobs.

Called him and woke him up at 11 am. Told me to "text" him my address. Never showed. I "texted" him a week later asking for the quote. He never showed up and told me he was too busy.

Everything has always gone very well and we would highly recommend Randy.

Ray arrived on time, was courteous, spent the entire morning on it, had good ideas of how to solve the problem, and answered all my questions. The closet looks great!

I was really happy with the result. I had a rotted out window sill that ended up falling off the house that I wanted to get fixed as soon as possible. Randy was able to promptly schedule a time for the work. He replaced the window sill and it looks great now. I would definitely call him in the future.

He said that he did not like to give estimates. The gentleman said he was very busy. I found out that he is not bonded. Hey said a few choice words to me about a review he had received from someone.

Randy fixed all of my outlets and found a lot of problems with the grounding and corrected them all. Randy rehung a few kitchen cabinets for me, added electric outlets in my kitchen. Randy repaired my gutters and leaders. We are in the process of adding a frost free hose bib to the back of my house.

I purchased the tile and Randy installed it in my bathroom. it looks great.

This was our first time using Randy's services and he far exceeded our expectations. Our deck had only been stained 7 months ago by a different contractor and was already starting to strip. Randy was very punctual for the initial estimate and stayed in constant contact with us throughout the job. The preparation before staining and the completed job were excellent. The difference in the look of the deck from the last time it was stained is no comparison. We were in a time crunch to have the deck stained, and grill and patio furniture put together before Memorial Day and Randy worked days and evenings to make sure it was completed on time. His helper was also very professional and did great work as well. We will be using Randy for many more of his services in the future.

Randy was prompt and arrived when he said he would. We toured the home, and I pointed out the various work that I needed to be performed. Randy was able to accomplish everything on my list. In fact, he reversed the handles on the front storm door at no charge, since they were on upside down, and it bothered him. A few times, I expected Randy to come, but other jobs slowed him down. All in all, it was a great experience. I have since referred Randy to some friends.

I attempted to self-install laminate wood flooring and ran into a snag when I found my walls to be uneven and not appearing to have the correct tools to make cuts in the laminate around door frames. I wanted to call in Randy as a bail-out. He came by, took a look at the job, and then began to give me a lesson on how to get it done. Randy took the time to instruct me where to start (I started in the wrong spot), how to solve my door-frame-cut problem, how to progress out, what tools I needed, and then how he'd cut the molding for finishing. Even some bonus advice on how to attach the toilet after the floor was in, and how to connect to my sink's drain pipe. Randy quoted doing the job himself at $600, which was a bit higher than I would have wanted to pay, so I'm very grateful that he took the time to give me some instruction so that I could attempt the job myself again. That's a level of customer service and professionalism that I imagine is rare, and Randy will be our first point of contact for future jobs that are a bit out of my league. Thanks!

He was great! The previous gentleman we used basically left us high and dry. Because my husband and I are blind, there were things we obviously wouldn't have realized right away. Randy did a lot of different work for us, including moving fire detectors so we could find them easier and rebuilding screens for a door. Prices were fair and he was very concientious to our needs. He really took care of us and did excellent work. We would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

Randy was excellent. He was flexible enough to schedule a time after I got home for work. He was punctual, organized and friendly. He was very thorough and cleaned up after himself. We will certainly use him again.

I gave Randy a list and showed him the problems and he figured out a smart plan. He is efficient, clean and neat, pleasant, intelligent, and efficient.

Work was excellent- very professional, reliable

He was very responsive after my first call. came and gave an estimate, gave suggestions and was very pleasant. He was delayed several times and therefore the start date was 3-4 weeks later than originally stated. I purchased the materials except for a few odds and ends. When he and his assistant came they worked hard and completed the job . Then came the bill. He had said it would cost $ 300.00 to install the granite tile floor, $75 to install the toilet, $75 for the sink plus a little more if unforseen problems arose. He also put a new faucet on the kitchen sink. So we had estimated a bill of $550. However, when he handed us the bill it was 1429.00!! He had added $540 for prep work for the floor and to install the toilet, sink and faucet he charged us $594.00 A far cry from the anticipated $250.00. After we complained he took $226 off. A very unpleasant ending that soured the whole experience for us.
