Great communication with Brian and Andy via text and/or email; very professional. However, highly disappointed with my steps/sidewalk stone work. I expected better workmanship. The crew had to come back several times to 'fix' the uneven steps landing area-- still looks uneven. I just gave up. Searching for another company to fix that area.

Andy was great to deal with kept us updated on progress work was completed on time and looks great . We would def hire them again for future projects

He's very responsive, professional, willing to look for an alternative answers for the problems and our relationship has been 15 year now.

I received a lower price elsewhere. I was, however, impressed with Andy's botanical knowledge. The office manager, Suzanne, is one of the most pleasant people I have ever dealt with.

Overall, we were very please with Andy and the crews that worked at the house. This was a challenging job because of the repair aspect of it, rather than building from scratch. They were able to start much sooner than other contractors we had out to bid, and all of the prices were very close. The original job done was done well, but there were a few finishing items we noticed that needed to be touched up. Andy came back to review all of our concerns, and dispatched a crew the very next morning to fix those items. From Andy, the office staff and the crew, their message was that they were not satisfied until we were happy with the job. In the end, the patio looks fantastic, the new steps look really nice, but most importantly, they are installed properly and safely! Kudos to Andy and the team, and thanks for all of your help.

Garrett Churchill did a great job. Andy was on sight everyday checking the work and very communicative with me, giving me updates and information. His two-man crew was efficient, friendly and always letting me know how the work was going and never afraid to stop and contact me if they had questions or needed a decision. They were timely, did the job that was discussed and contracted and went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied. I have no hesitations about recommending them and hiring them again.

The estimate was perfectly on budget, but he had no follow thru and never called me back. He also never provided visual renderings, as requested.

Very easy to work with Andy and Suzanne. Andy's crew arrived on time, and within two hours, completed all tasks. The crew was efficient and friendly. It was a hot and humid morning and the crew worked so hard and quickly to get the job done. We couldn't be happier with the results and will definitely be calling Garrett Churchill again! Many thanks for a job well-done.

They responded to my May 26th online request for service the next day, asked for pictures so they could get a better feel for the work that I needed. Sent a reasonable proposal, as requested, promptly. There were not able to give me an exact date of service, but gave me a two week window initially. They scheduled the work for Thursday, June 9th. I did need to ask for the starting time as I wanted to be there for the service. Andy came on time, got right to work and was very diligent about making sure the pond was fully cleaned and working well. While it was refilling, he even helped me weed the garden surrounding the pond area! Very pleased with the office staff of the company who faciitated the billing and with Andy. I hopefully will use them again for a new pond/waterfall system next year.

They have done a nice job.. Good communications and planning.

***Please see my review of 5/13/2014 for other details*** Once again, Andy and his company came in and did absolutely amazing work on my house. This was Phase 2 of a multi-phase plan to revamp my property and he delivered on everything he promised. He removed two overgrown cedars that were blocking the stone facade of my house. He removed and installed brand new walkway and spot lighting to illuminate my house at night. My house looks absolutely amazing during the day and even better at night now that brand new lighting has been installed. Andy and his company always do absolutely incredible work, stand by their product, and are there to respond to any issues that you may have. I will be asking him back this fall to do further work on my property!

It went really good. They came back the following year to refill the raisers and reseeded the whole area.

I would gave them a C rating because I didn't think they did a very good job. We felt that the plantings they did were definitely not what we would've imagine from one who had a degree in horiculture would provide. I would not use them again in the future.

Our initial discussion and walkthrough of my property was thoughtful and detailed. My needs were documented closely, and I received a wonderful plan that exceeded my expectations. I was provided not one, but two! plans since I wasn't sure whether I wanted to install a horseshoe driveway or keep our original straight path. In order to plan the horseshoe drive, Garrett Churchill rep had to measure exactly since it could only squeeze in to our existing front yard. Extremely detailed. My only regret is that I couldn't get enough follow up via phone or email contact to see if they wanted to move forward with the first part of the project. It was admittedly a month or two before my check in, and it is quite possible that they had all the work they could handle at the time. Not sure. Anyway, I would hire them again for their thoughtful creative planning.

Most of the project was hardscaping work. The guys did an ok job but I wasn't happy with all of it. Andy came and fixed it to where we were both happy with it. We also needed to create a swale to divert rainwater. His guys did not get it perfect the first time, they eventually came back and fixed it. Andy wanted to make sure I was happy with all of it. He did a great job communicating with me. I will use him again.

Project went well. Was completed in two days. Guys were professional and courteous. Neighbors have complimented the end result.

Andy came out to my house on a freezing March afternoon and walked around my property for an hour listening to my ideas and concerns. He diligently took notes and offered his own ideas to make my property look more aesthetically pleasing and functional. It was his "less is more" approach that convinced me to remove the evergreen bushes in front of my garage as well as excavate and remove the island flower bed in my front yard. He was extremely knowledgable and professional the entire time. Being in the military, professionalism and knowledge if your craft are important to me. In my attempt to seek out the best ideas and prices I brought out two other companies for quotes on my property. After comparing all three proposals I decided to go with Garrett Churchill even though their estimated price was the highest amongst the three estimates I received. I could tell, without question, that the quality of their work would be far superior to other landscaping companies. Currently, I am stationed in Virginia and was unable to be there when the project started leaving my wife to oversee the progress of the work. The project was scheduled to take three days but ran over to a fourth day. Andy kept in constant contact with me the entire time, updated me on progress, asking me questions, and adjusting to every unplanned situation. During the installation of one of the drainage systems, the crew discovered that a previous landscaping company had bungled the drainage system Andy's crew was tying into. Since they had not installed the previous drainage system they could have left it as is, but speaking to Garrett Churchill's integrity and professionalism as a company, they took it upon themselves to repair poorly installed drainage. This is what caused the project to run over to a fourth day as he crew had to spend half a day correcting someone else's mistake. Through all of this Andy charged a meager sum of $200 to repair 4 incomplete connections and a host of other issues. Bottom line from this long review is that Garrett Churchill is an exceptional company, with an exceptional workforce, and exceptional owner. They are punctual, professional, knowledgable, and most importantly...they have the integrity very few companies show today. From this point forward they will be the ONLY company I call to provide me landscaping services for my home.

I contacted Garrett Churchill near the end of March to have the front and rear landscaping updated at my home. I had purchased the home last summer and was not inspired by the landscaping of the previous owner. Andy came out to my house and was very professional and prompt in our initial meeting. Andy listed to my ideas (which were minimal as I wasn't sure what I even wanted) and seemed very knowledgeable about his craft while we walked my property. He took some pictures and measurements with his iPad and stated he would have a proposal in a week or so. His proposal was very on point with what we were looking to do (even with my limited input) and was broken down by both the front and rear in case we wanted to do the project in different phases. While we personally ran into budget issues with the project and will most likely not do the work for another year, I would absolutely recommend Andy and his team family and friends. Andy was competitive in his prices with other firms but stood above the others in professionalism and knowledge.

My biggest concern was my backyard, as last summer I had a pool removed and was not able to get much grass to grow. The crew did arrive early in the morning the day they were suppose to, and started the job. They were suppose to install topsoil all over my backyard, 1) to have better soil for grass growth and 2) to have water flow to the back right corner of the yard, instead of puddling. They were also suppose to slit seed the yard. First thing I notice is that the slit seeder machine was not working correctly(for some reason it would not move), so instead of using it correctly, 2 guys drug the machine backwards through my yard. I thought to myself, I can't imagine that the machine is suppose to be used this way, but didn't say anything and waited to see how it turned out. As as I suspected, when I went out to inspect the job, I could see most of the yard was not slit seeded(no slits in the ground). I could only see spots here and there where the machine actually made slits...otherwise I just saw seed on top of packed down dirt. So I immediately called the office to complain about the job, as they did not slit seed properly and they did not put down enough topsoil. I talked with Suzanne on the phone(who is very nice), and she told me that Andy(who was in charge of my job) left, and would call me the next day. The next day he did, and I told him about my complaints. He said he didn't have a chance to come out and see the job but would go look and mentioned that the machine didn't work properly because the ground was too moist. I called back a couple days later because I did not hear from him, and he said he would go out and look at it in the afternoon, so I left work to meet up with him. When he got there, I explained to him my concerns...showed him that the machine did not work properly, and that top soil needed to be put down in other spots to level out the ground(one spot was a big trench on the side of my patio, so not sure why they wouldn't put topsoil there). He tried to convince me that I really didn't need to have it slit seeded, but asked what would make me happy. I said I would be happy if it was done correctly, which is what I agreed to pay for. He agreed and the crew came out the next day(I was not able to be home) to fix the job. When I got home, again, I notice large areas with very little signs of slit seeding. I did see that they did slit seed through the newly laid topsoil though, which was less of a concern for me. And some areas where I asked topsoil to be put down, were not done...including the big trench on the side of my patio. Out of aggarvation I went and bought topsoil and seed, and finished some of the job myself as I don't want to waste anymore time starting this lawn. Today I received an invoice in the mail for the final payment which angered me, since they never even checked back in with me to see if I was happy with the end result(which obviously I wasn't). I'm not even sure if Andy went out to make sure it was done properly again. On top of this, they destroyed an inground sprinkler head which I made sure to point out the morning they started the job. All that being said, if you need to have your lawn seeded, I strongly advise not to use this company. It seems like they want to get the job done as quickly as possible rather than making sure it's done properly, with no contact afterwards to make sure you are happy with the job. There are other things that bothered me as well, but I'm just pointing out the major issues.

Came out and drew up a landscape plan for my front yard. It took a long time to schedule. It took even longer to get the plan once he had been here. His plan was uninspired and boring. It wasn't worth the special deal at $75.

They were very nice and very professional and very timely. But the design did not impress us and the price seemed quite high. We made some suggestions on what we were thinking about and it seemed like they just took those ideas and drew a picture of those ideas and gave us a pretty high quote. I am uncertain if we would use the again. Maybe.

It went well. The guy seemed very knowledgeable and suggested different ways we could do the project and ways to save money. He was also very professional.
