Garrett Churchill A Landscape Company

He apologize because he was having problems with his printer and only showed the plans on his IPAD. This wasn't a problem but it did take me three phone calls to get a hard copy. Overall I was very happy with the design work, the follow-up on a hard copy just took a little longer then expected.

They were very pleasant. We had some things come up so we didn't end up getting the work done, but we got to see the plans. The guy we dealt with was very nice. The design was great, but they did have to cancel and reschedule a few times. The plan itself was beautiful.

It turned out fine. The gentleman came out and gave me various options and information. He came when he said he would and was professional.

I contacted Garrett Churchill to provide lansdcaping for our front and back yards. Eric came out to discuss the project, then came back to take measurements, and again to show us his design and the estimate. The design drawing was on his iPad, We discussed some adjustments to the proposal, and he promised to amend the design drawing and the proposal per our specifications. He emailed the amended proposal several days later, but I had to ask twice for the design drawing. I am not sure he was aware that I paid for the design, and did not just call for a free estimate. The design and price were acceptable, but we ended up choosing another landscaper for the work.

The service provider walked around our property and we discussed possible services that they could do to improve the quality of the yard. He would provide an estimate and then we would let him know what we might end up doing, I apologize, but I just cannot remember if we ever received his estimate. (we were in the middle of moving and crazy). We still might use their services next Spring.

Very professional and curtious

They came out in August and walked around the property with me. However, I never got a plan on what would be done, nor did I hear from them at all. I got a call from the office manager last week saying the main guy wasn’t in the office and he would call me the next day, but I told her I did not want to use the deal or their service. Based off my initial interaction with this company, I have decided I do not want to use them.

Eric is a true professional. He knows the area and the soil, he is very knowledgeable of the plants he recommends and goes out of his way to make sure the design fits the functional requirements as well as getting the most aesthetic bang. The crew that worked the job was very prompt and courteous. At my request they set aside the excavated dirt from the water garden for me. The finished area looks great. There is one issue I was disappointed with. The diverter pipes running from the house to the rain garden were put in at about 2 feet deep. After covering the pipes with dirt, the crew never tamped down the excavation lines. I had two ruts running from the house to the water garden. I told Eric about that and never received a response. I will use Garrett Churchill again to install the second phase of my landscaping project.

From start to finish, designer Eric Korn was awesome to work with. Though our budget was much less than Eric's initial design called for, he worked with us every step of the way to make sure that our new garden accomplished our goals while working within our limited budget. Despite the modest budget and frequent requests for changes on our part, Eric remained positive, encouraging, and informative, helping us to make the right choices for a garden that uniquely met our needs. As a result, an eyesore was turned into the framework of a lovely garden to which we've been applying our own touches ever since.

When I called him he said he was very backed up as far as being able to get someone out. I normally receive a picture of what the proposal is but with him, all I got was verbiage. I also felt he was rushing through the visit like he needed to be somewhere else. About 2 months later after calling several times and being told they would get back with me, I did not get the design promised in the deal.

A representative came out and reviewed my property in detail. We discussed what sort of landscaping I had in mind. A few weeks later he returned with a generic, black and white landscape plan. The plan contained no specific plant names - just circles to represent the size. We reviewed the plan and I requested estimates to do some preliminary work such as removing existing vegetation and creating beds. That was the last I heard from them. No estimates for additional work were received. The plan I paid for is of little use to me since it does not list what plants are suitable for each garden bed. I contacted another landscaper who created a similar landscape plan but included a plant list and color in the drawing. This was all at no cost to me. Garrett Churchill may do beautiful landscaping work, but the plan that I paid $75 for is of no value. I received a better plan at no cost from another landscaper.

Please note this was a deal for landscaping design. Andy was very punctual for his appointment and very professional. He evaluated the property thoroughly to create the design and provided the design in a time-sensitive manner. But I could not use his services since I could not afford their prices.

The whole experience was a pleasure from the very beginning. Andy promptly answered my first email and followed up with a phone call. Eric came and listened to what I was looking for, made suggestions, came up with a plan and emailed me pictures of the design plans. All communication was excellent. The crew was friendly and hard working. The work was performed according to specification and the final outcome was more than I could have hoped for. Eric identified all of the plants for me, gave watering instructions, and provided me with an as built plan to help me identify all the plants. I look forward to working with them in the future

he Angie's List Deal Portion (Design for $75): The landscape designer (Eric) arrived on our agreed time, I had to make a few last minute schedule changes due to changes in my work schedule, but he was quite understanding and adjusted his schedule to match mine. We met and discussed the landscaping, our wants, and dislikes, and a budget to work from. He took pictures and measurement and we scheduled a return visit. On his return visit he reviewed the general plan and had a draft proposal for our review. The original drawing was black and white, so I asked if you could color it, and we made some changes to the layout. On his third return, he had the color rendering and a formal proposal (all on his ipad). We were pleased enough with the plan that we did in fact accept it, and they will be installing it the day after labor day. The only downside in my opinion was that everything was on his ipad rather than a hard copy; however, they will provide a hard copy if requested. The Actual Work: The crew arrived on the day we scheduled. After some brief introductions, they went straight to work off loading the materials and large stone and removing the existing landscaping and a tree including the stump. I had existing lighting and irrigation that they located and moved out of the way. They laid out all the new landscape areas and began stripping the grass. After the areas were stripped, Eric arrived on site to review the areas to insure they were according to his design. The crew then began to install the landscape plants, the new tree and the 2 ton of stone. They cleaned as they went and were thorough. They did not get everything completed in one day, which was anticipated. The next day they added compost, fertilizer, re-installed the irrigation and lighting as I had it. They then completed the project with mulch, including an area on the side of my home that was not really in the scope of work. They also removed a nest of ground bees in an area which was not in the scope of work...that was great since I'm somewhat allergic to bee stings.

Very well. From the estimate to completing the work, we were very impressed.

The job went well, Andy and his men arrived at the appropriate time in the morning and the job lasted a little under two weeks, one or two days were delayed due the need for a concrete pour which my wife and I got a contractor, so Churchill needed to wait for that end of the access way to be set.

To keep the ground water out of my house, I had to be home when heavy rain was forecast. I expressed how this was effecting my work, and asked if they could work this into their schedule as soon as possible. Andy Sykes was extremely responsive throughout the entire experience. He was the most responsive contractor I have ever met. He was very professional, and the work was scheduled immediately after the contract was signed. The work was completed quickly, and looks very professional. We recently had a heavy rain storm after the work was completed, and I can't describe how great it felt to be able to sleep through the storm without having to pump water. The drain performed as expected, and the grading that was performed looks great. I was very satisfied with the whole process.

They were very responsive and worked in a very timely and professional fashion. I would recommend Garrett Churchill and would use them again for future projects.

I was extremely pleased with the quality of work that was done by Garrett Churchill (GC) on this project. After my initial meeting with Andy who would later turn out to be the PM for the project I received a very detailed quote outlining the work that was to be done. This quote exactly reflected all the things that we discussed during the onsite assessment. To me this was a good sign that I picked the right company for the job at hand. Many times something as simple as getting the quote right can be a challenge for some companies. This was certainly not the case with GC. I was given a start and end date and those dates were adhered to. The crew arrived on time everyday and worked late everyday to get the job done on time. On the last day of the job they even stayed until 8:30PM to finish everything despite it being a 13hr day for them at that point. I was impressed with their work ethic and determination. The crew was also very mindful of the neighbors and the property lines and always cleaned up after themselves leaving the job site as clear as possible before leaving for the day. All the guys were friendly and willing to answer any questions I had without hesitation. As a final note, when ever I had any questions for Andy (PM) he was always very timely in his responses and even provided milestone emails to keep me informed of how things were progressing. In the end I was very happy with the outcome and new look of my property thanks to the fine job that was done by Garrett Churchill and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.

We had been getting flooding from neighbors uphill from us every time there was a heavy rainstorm. Water was coming into our crawlspace from the flood. We had several companies come and give us proposals but Garrett Churchill seemed the most professional and seemed to know just what would solve the problem. The work was done in a very timely fashion and the workers were friendly and professional. They were careful not to let our dog escape the fenced yard while they were working. The work they did looks great and is attractive adding to the beauty of the landscape. While we haven't yet experienced a heavy rain storm to see how well it works, I am confident that it will solve the problem and I am very happy with the results. I will definitely use them again.

Overall it went rather well and the job was completed within two weeks or so. The crew arrived on the day they said they would and worked every day until the job was complete. Everybody was friendly and the job foreman was knowledgeable and more than willing to talk about the job, answer questions and make suggestions. The neighbors enjoyed watching the progress of the transformation and even today comment on how nice the property looks. There were some plants that didn't make it through the winter and Andy Sykes replaced them without charge. We also had him add some additional plantings the next year. At the time, Garrett Churchill only did installations but now includes maintenance as well. We haven't used him for that service since the rate is pretty expensive. As far as installation, though, Andy has a very good design sense and knows what to plant and where it should go.

The job went well. They worked within our budget. When the front light did not work they returned right away to address the problem.

This was a great company to deal with. The crew was very knowledgeable and offered great suggestions on how to fix the problem. They were always on time to the job. The crew was also very friendly and professional as well. I would use this company again. I had two other contracts take a look at this problem and couldn?t figure it out.
