Description of Work: Window sill, brick molding and track trim replacement on brick facade in front of house. Window sills were replaced with thin grained wood. Brick molding and window track trim were replaced with pvc to prevent future decay. All work performed was primed and painted.

Description of Work: I can say, Ardmor really provided such great service. I have an existing order from them for a security door (kitchen and front). This order has not been fufilled yet because the doors are still out of stock...they are currently in order as we speak. Now, we just moved to the house we just bought...we really want the kitchen security door installed for peace of mind..but good thing I don't have to wait that much longer for this one, even though the front door is still in order. Buying a house can be very, very stressful. I noticed that one of the glass panes have a hole. I brought it to Ardmor and asked for a quote on how much it would cost. Jenny said that since the technician was not available at the time, she'd just call me once she obtains the quote. An hour later, she confirmed how much it would be. I decided not to get it done yet due to financial reasons (buying a house can really almost empty your savings). I decided to wait until the next day to pick up the glass pane. On Saturday, when I picked up the glass pane, to my surprise, they replaced the glass free of charge. I was shocked and surprised. FREE???? I got emotional a bit because it has been stressful for the last few months due to the house and everything. I mean I still have an order from them that has not been fulfilled but still, such a great gesture from the company to offer this to me, FREE OF CHARGE. I cannot thank them enough, specially Jen. I am soooo glad for this company and I sure will use them and recommend to anyone who needs windows and doors job. I highly recommend them. Thank you soo much.

Description of Work: I had a fogged window replacement done along with a separate window repair completed on rotted wood replacement done on a casement window. Both insulated glass units. The first was a special advertised on Angie's list a few months ago. The 2nd was a suggested repair by the company on the separate casement window when they first came to estimate the fogged glass replacement. The first came off perfectly and the 2nd repair was incredible and very well done. These guys came on site and rebuilt the rotted casement- a custom job. The rebuild matched perfectly. The end result was that this repair was completed at a TINY fraction of the cost of a whole new picture window. I recommend these guys highly for both types of jobs. I think you will be totally satisfied with them. Real craftsmen!

Description of Work: A representative arrived as scheduled to review the job and provided a quote. The appointment was made for 2 weeks later. Replaced springs in three windows that did not stay up. Considering the age of the windows,and fairly reasonable condition they were in, it was less expensive to repair rather than replace. Excellent work.

Description of Work: They came to my home and removed the window that was ultimately to be replaced. The reason for this was to take the mullions from the old window to put in the new window. They worked around my schedule and were absolutely prompt. They did good work when they came back to replace the new window into the frame. As it was a rainy day when they came back, they removed their shoes at the front door without my asking. They are responsive, competent, polite, and efficient. I would definitely hire them again.

Description of Work: Replaced a broken double-pane window. The initial tech was superb, keeping me informed, and going out of his way to make sure the imbedded lattice panes matched the originals. The two techs who came out to make the final install were not very communicative, although they were efficient. The first tech's offer to look at worn door molding was not followed up by the install crew.

+ -1 moreBig deal - responsive, showed up on time, had to leave due to flash storm and rescheduled in a timely fashion. Replaced rotting wood at base of casing on large 1880s original doors that we are restoring. Installed new trim between doors. Added brass kick plates. We were nervous at first that they didn't seem familiar with older doors but did a good job matching fairly seamlessly, grain is very close. We did not ask them to stain. Warp in doors seems a touch exacerbated and as a result they are harder to close, but could be because we never had a straight piece of trim on before. Fair price overall, happy with it although I wish we could have gotten a little more done for what we spent - recaulking, stripping, etc.

+ -1 moreIt went well. Mike was very professional in coming out and looking at what needed to be done. And he was flexible when my schedule needed to change. The price was higher than I anticipated; I thought $165 for some lumber to repair the wood around only two windows seemed high, plus I needed to supply my own paint. But the work took longer than anticipated so I suppose it all washed out in the end. The work was very good and I would hire them again. The sole reason I rated responsiveness as "good" and not "excellent" is it took a series of emails to receive the quote on the rest of the work that needs to be done. But I have it now as promised.

+ -1 moreArrived on time each day work was scheduled. Did as much work as possible outside and sealed off interior work areas. Did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves. All workers were courteous and well mannered. All work done was as promised. The windows were approximately 100 years old and some of them were in very bad shape. After the work was finished it was if new windows were installed. I am very grateful to Ardmor Inc., for helping me preserve and maintain my older windows. Wooden windows are much more attractive and last much longer with proper maintenance then those vinyl windows that are available these days. I would take old wooden windows any day.
Description of Work: Weighted sash window repair. Repaired 100 year old double hung sash windows. Replaced broken weigh chains, replaced broken panes, sanded and pained trim and sill.

+ 0 moreI'd conducted researched and had several bids to replace the basement windows in my 27 year old town home. The bids ranged from $8,000 for inexpensive vinyl windows to $30,000 for custom wood windows. When I learned that the town home Association prohibited vinyl or vinyl clad windows, I was left to consider only custom wood windows from high end window makers. I decided to do one more online search for "window repairs" and found Ardmor, Inc. They promptly responded to my request for a proposal and were able to determine that my basement windows were in generally good condition and needed repairs to the rotted sills and sashes and replacement of rusty and broken mechanisms and dual-panned windows that had developed condensation between the panes. They worked for 3 days to meticulously repair, repaint and rehang my windows. As a plus, I asked if they could replace the glass with Low-E insulated windows with variable thickness (1/8" & 3/16"). I had read that this would help with energy efficiency and reduce outside noise levels. They were able to work with a local glass maker to do this. Happily, the windows look great, they open & close easily, the Low-E glass is already keeping south facing rooms cooler during the day and warmer at night AND, in my assessment, outside noise has been reduced by 25-50%. Awesome result and at a price significantly less than what I would have paid to replace them. Thanks You!
