Larry was outstanding. Very professional, outstanding work and high quality. It was 90 plus degrees outside with wiring for repair was in difficult to reach areas. He was on the job a full day and installed lighting under my deck, repaired non-code issues and fixed damaged deck post lighting. All work was completed in one day and with very high quality. I found my new electrician for all jobs in the future. Thanks Larry. Very happy customer.

A tree fell on our house and pulled down all the wires, so we needed a fair amount of work. Larry Leithead was responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. Hopefully we won't have another electrical emergency any time soon; we'd definitely call Larry for non-emergency work.

The Short Review: If you need electrical work done, and you want someone who will do a thorough, detail-oriented job, look no further and hire Larry. He has done 2 substantial jobs for me in as many years, and he is absolutely excellent. He is responsive, honest, detail-oriented, punctual, thoughtful, easy to deal with, fairly priced, and efficient. When he worked on our jobs, we would leave in the morning, come home at night, and it was like an electrical magician had been in our house. There would be no mess whatsoever, but tasks from our list would appear perfectly completed. I was very impressed with his work, and I?m fussy about house projects. I really wish all of the contractors I?ve dealt with were like Larry. I know anytime I need any electrical work in the future, I?ll be going back to him. The Long Review: In August of 2014 my wife and I purchased a 104 year-old house in Narberth, PA, which we knew needed knob and tube wiring remediation, and a new electrical panel (the original one was a ?split-bus? panel). There were also a bunch of other convenience things we wanted done, like lights in closets and stairwells, ceiling fans in bedrooms, 200 amp service, recessed lighting, etc. After speaking to a couple of electricians who were underwhelming, I was beginning to regret our decision to buy an older house. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended Larry, who did a bunch of rewiring on a 70+ year-old house in Wynnewood, PA. I contacted Larry through his website, and he responded quickly, and was out to give us an estimate within the week. During the estimate, he walked all through our house, patiently answered all of my questions, and took his time figuring out the solutions to how he would solve our wiring issues with the minimal impact to the house. At the end of our first meeting, I knew Larry was the guy for the job. I could just tell he knew his stuff. Due to budgetary constraints, we decided to prioritize our work into 2 jobs, which we had Larry complete a little over a year apart. We started the first job in November 2014, which was the larger of two jobs. We had a new panel put in, with an upgrade to 200 amp service, several convenience lights added, receptacles and a ceiling fan installed, a new bathroom exhaust fan installed, coax and speaker wiring re-routed, and had an additional light switch added to our kitchen. Several of the circuits in our house still were knob and tube, which Larry upgraded to new wiring. We paid about $7100.00 for this work. The second job was completed in January 2016, which included installation of recessed lights, more knob and tube remediation, convenience wiring of coax cables, wiring of an extra outlet in our kitchen, and tidying of legacy wiring in our basement. This job was about $4200.00. Both jobs were completed cleanly and on time, with excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship. We couldn?t be happier with the work Larry and his guys did for so many reasons, but probably the most important reason, which is reflected throughout his work, is that he cares personally about the job details and his customer, and would never do anything below an excellent standard, which is worth every penny to me. Thank you, Larry!

We experienced a complete power failure at our condo on Sunday, Jan. 24th, the day after the "Jonas" blizzard. We noticed that none of our neighbors had lost power, only our unit so we knew we had a serious issue. We tried flipping switches in our electrical/fuse box but to no avail. Our condo is "all" electric so that meant no heat, hot water, lights, and we could not cook. So we left home to go to a relatives house. On Monday we called our home warranty company and the earliest we could get an electrician to our place was Tuesday. The guy came looked in our electrical box and said we experienced a power surge and our electrical box was "fried" and the entire box would need to be replaced and rewired. You could actually see the melted parts. Our condo is 35 years old and this was the original box installed at time of construction. Unfortunately, we had to wait until Wednesday to find out that replacing it would not be covered under our home warranty contract and the electrician said replacing it would cost between $2,500 & $3,000. Outrageous, to say the least. On Thursday I went to Angie's List website and noticed that one of the special deals was for the installation of a new electrical panel "with surge protection" for $800 through Accent Electric Ltd.. OMG, I thought. That was just what we needed. I called Angie's List, explained our situation and they, in turn, contacted Larry at Accent Electric, they provided me his cell phone, I called him and he was very understanding of our situation. He asked if he could swing by our unit to check the box out which he did and said he could do the work the very next day on Friday. He also told us the 1st electrician's diagnosis was wrong!! We did not experience a major power surge after all. Larry said power surges would have caused other units in our condo courtyard to be affected as well. The problem was burnt out lugs and wires due to the age of the panel and the 200 voltage line over the years. He and his co-worker showed up at 8:00 am and we now have a beautiful new electrical box with surge projection installed, meeting all current code requirements. Therefore adding major value to our condo. The best part is that I called our insurance company regarding our homeowners policy that we have on our condo insurance and minus our deductible, the remainder of the overall expense to us will be reimbursed. Thank you Larry at Accent Electric located in Willow Grove, Pa. for your quick, professional service. You really saved us a lot of grief.

We were very pleased with our service. Our big project was the recessed lighting in two downstairs rooms. Larry & Ray were able to install new lighting with only 3 small sections for access (2x4 inches). Other contractors had talked about pulling back the carpet in the rooms above and how the crown moulding may be damaged, but Larry avoided all of that. We had a laundry list of things to do but everything was completed within 2 days and Larry even came back to swap out a ceiling fan that wasn't working properly (manufacturer issue). We couldn't be happier with the service they provided and will definitely use them again. They were professional and efficient.

Accent's service was reasonably priced and very professional, from first contact through job completion. Where other electricians took several days to a couple of weeks to respond to requests, estimates, and questions, Accent responded with a sense of urgency and with my best interest at heart. The owner, Larry Leithead, was a pleasure to do business with and I plan to use Accent for additional electrical work in the near future. Accent offers quality work at a value price.

Accent Electric is great. Our house is old, which presented difficulties while doing the work, and Larry and his cohort did the job with patience, determination and great work ethic even though they said that it took them longer than they had planned and was more challenging than they had thought. They arrived on time, were extremely clean (no tools on the bed, drop cloths everywhere, even over a sink), and answered my every question with honesty and all the time and detail I needed. I noticed several things while they worked that really impressed me: holes were made in walls to allow for the grounding of outlets; Larry took the care and time to make these extremely small, so that when I get them spackled/painted the work will be minimal. I asked him to remove his shoes while working; he told me his shoes were brand new, yet upon my insistence, wore booties anyway, even on our hardwood floors that made for a slippery walking surface. When replacing the cover for the electric panel, a screw was lost; Larry not only found a suitable screw from his truck, but took the time to replace the other bottom screw with an identical one so that the two bottom screws were the same!. He truly treated our home as if it were his. Accent Electric is a real winner in the Angie's List community!

Larry was very professional. He made recommendations as needed. Larry and his crew showed up and did the work as expected. I will be using Accent Electric in the future.

Frank showed up,on time, he first installed the two replacement fans on the third floor. The fans are in an awkward place, a little hard to reach. In addition to,replacing the fans, Frank disposed of the old fans which I was thankful for. Once the fans upstairs were replaced he installed the new one on the ground floor. This involved drilling a whole in the ceiling - Frank had drop clothes around the house, there was no dust anywhere. Very clean!

During the estimate process Larry explained what would be done in a very clear manner. His estimate was lower than that of another highly rated Angie's List electrician. I liked that Larry was willing to communicate via email. Given my schedule, it's the easiest way to get a hold of me. Larry arrived on time and explained what would be done. The work necessitated the power being shut off. Since I work from home, Larry kept the power on as long as possible to minimize the impact on my work. The work was completed timely and the work area cleaned up when he was finished. We highly recommend Accent Electric.

Larry was excellent. He is extremely knowledgable and very honest about suggesting the work that actually does & doesn't need to be done. We were amazed with the minimal amount of holes he needed to make in our walls. Our painter actually commented what a good job he did patching up the holes that he did need to create. After meeting with him, we were very comfortable having Larry do the work that we needed, and absolutely recommend him to anyone needing electrical work done.

We recently purchased our home and had a list of items that came up in the inspection report. He was able to address them all in a timely, professionally, and reasonably priced manner. I thought i needed to add a new grounded outlet for a freezer and he told me that the outlet i was using was sufficient for the freezer. I appreciate that he didn't do work that didn't need to be done. I plan to have him back to replace an attic fan in the spring.

Could not get the work done based on scheduling issues.

I wanted to add a tempered glass back splash and did not want outlets or switches to mar the clean look I was trying to achieve. Larry suggested a strip of outlets that he would be able to hide under the cabinets. After the glass backsplash was installed, he installed under-cabinet LED lights that were dimmable, as well as track and pendant lights in the kitchen. Throughout this remodel, Larry was always on time and organized. He was very professional and detail-oriented, offering suggestions and ideas as I outlined my vision. I especially appreciated his thoughtful protection of our new tile floor, positioning drop cloths as he worked.

Larry arrived promptly and ready to work. We discussed the details of the job and some alternatives and concluded that what I signed up for was quite adequate for my present situation and any future plans I might have. He estimated how long the power would be off and, despite my many interruptions to ask questions, he still managed to finish within the estimated period. During the whole time, he was extremely patient and courteous and professional. The work was completed as promised, very neatly done with all the connections labeled and all required clean up and material removal. I was extremely satisfied. An overall enjoyable experience. Would I recommend him and have him back? Of course.

Larry and his crew performed the work as scheduled. They were timely, professional, and neat. They were very thorough as well, checking all circuits, labeling the panel, and even troubleshooting a bad connection that was made by a previous contractor. Definitely recommend.

We are very pleased with the work we had done. Larry was professional and nice. He made sure to explain everything that needed to be done. The fans look great and we will use him in the future for any electrical needs.

It was such a positive experience that I called Larry a week later to fix some things in my new house. He was there in a flash and got the job done.

Larry was excellent. He came to give a free estimate then was able to schedule us within a couple weeks. I changed a couple jobs the day off and he was fine with that. Also, we had just moved and I had a small electrical problem at our old house and Larry was able to drive over and fix that for us too after he had worked all day at our new house. Would definitely use again and recommend.

This is the second time we've had Larry from Accent Electric to our home to address our electrical needs. The first time out he ran electricity to the master bedroom and the tv room. He then hung and wired the lighted ceiling fans in our tv room and master bedroom. The second time he fixed a faulty dimmer switch and hung the chandelier in our foyer. Both times he was punctual, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He was able to fit us into his schedule with in days of calling and he always does a great job. Both times he has exceeded our expectations in his professionalism. We will not use any other electrician as long as Larry is around. We highly recommend him!!

Larry returned my call and was here in just about 24 hours. He explained what was occuring in terms even I could understand and set about diagnosing the problem. He quickly found all the faulty outlets (my screw-ups) and rewired them to work properly. He also showed me a few other minor items which he also quickly repaired, then did a thorough inspection of the whole electrical system so as to be prepared for the next home inspection. This is his second time to do work here and I honestly would not consider using anyone else.

Larry arrived just when he said he would, so I'm very satisfied with that. He went about the task of finding the source of the bad connection that was causing every light on the circuit to flicker. I explained that it was a problem that happened a number of times in the past but each time it went away after a week or so. I told him that a handyman had replaced the circuit's breaker about a year ago, and that seemed to fix the problem for a while, but that it had not solved it. He first looked at the breaker panel, but did not find a problem. (He did offer to fix a minor unrelated problem, which I appreciated.) He then proceeded to methodically examine every switch and outlet on the circuit to look for a possible loose connection that might be causing the problem. He worked for over an hour at this. To access one outlet we had to move a very heavy sofa that he did not help move back. I was then called away, and my wife continued helping him find the fixtures/boxes on the circuit. It turned out that the problem had been in the breaker box after all, but that he had not seen it the first time around. The connections to two breakers were burned due to arcing, so he re-wired the breakers to other empty slots in the box. I understand that such troubleshooting is not easy, but feel that a more thorough and thoughtful approach from the outset might have allowed him to solve the problem in minutes instead of the two hours that it took, and I might have saved money and hassle in the process. The problem is solved, and I like Larry's professionalism and thoroughness, but I'd likely hesitate to call Accent again because of this experience.

Larry Leithead, of Accent, is fast, efficient, skilled, and will not settle until things are done right. I'm writing this a few minutes after the code inspector has left, and he said "I wish all of my jobs were like this." My house is 60 years old, and has all kinds of oddities that make work difficult -- built on a slab foundation, tiny spaces, some things that were jerry-rigged by previous owners or whoever they had in to do work, etc. Larry ran into quite a few challenges, and wouldn't let the weirdness of my house defeat him. On the previous job, he took down the old kitchen ceiling fixtures (boxy florescent style), and we found there were substantial holes in the ceiling, that would not be concealed by my new fixtures. After putting in everything needed to put up the fixtures, Larry recommended a fine person to do the drywall repair on the ceiling (who was as intense about doing things right as Larry is). On the recent job, he repaired a florescent ceiling fixture in the utility room and replaced the bulbs, put in a new breaker and line to handle an electric range -- the line had to be run above the ceiling across the width of the kitchen, then down behind the wall on the other side. Larry and his crew ran into all kinds of resistance from my house, but kept on problem-solving until the job was done right.
