It was the most awful experience of my life with a contractor. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Matt Myer was contacted for an estimate on a stamped concrete patio. When he came to the house, he stated that we needed to have a drain field installed in the yard to dry up some wet areas first. He stated that he could do it by the end of the week and quoted us a price of $4200. He stated that he would tie in the 5 downspouts, hook them into the lines, and add some decorative stone at the end jf the pipe to make it look attractive. As Matt dug up the yard for the drain pipe, he stayed several times that the yard was clay, thus retains a lot of water. After the yard was dug up, he stated that because it was clay, he would need to charge more. During the deterioration of our yard, a worker of Matt's drove the equipment over the pipe and crushed 3 pipes. We noticed 1, as the other areas were already back filled when we got home. Matt was called. He stated that he stands behind all of his work and would fix his mistakes. I have tried on 3 different occasions to reach Mr. Myer over the last 30 days. He does not return any of the messages.

Response from Decorative Concrete Surfaces, LLC
In response to Member, pipes were crushed by her husband operating a skid steer in their back yard. After we realized her back yard was an old tennis court filled in with clay i offered to remedy the situation by removing clay and replacing it with top soil at a discounted rate. She declined at that time and they decided to do it themselves. They had several dump trucks of topsoil delivered. At this point her husband rented a skid steer and drove all over her yard crushing sections of pipe. Prior to this her husband and the neighbor commented on how well the drain worked that we installed. In closing i had Member sign a proposal stating that i was not be responsible for final yard grade finish. She knew that before we started and harassed me via text message( no phone calls, letters ect) saying she was going to trash my name and write slanderous comments about me via the internet if i didn't return . After 22 years in business i've had two complaints from customers out of hundreds. I'm sorry we couldn't do anymore work to satisfy this customer but you get what you pay for.
