Was able to reset the recessed light sockets back within their respective frames/brackets. Turns out it was such an easy job that he didn't charge and just asked for more business in the future. I wasn't there so he easily could have generated a story and said that it took an hour of labor ( not including parts) to fix it and charged me accordingly. I would have paid. Very honest contractor who was also EXCEPTIONALLY punctual compared to most. This is a contractor that I WILL call FIRST when I have an address that needs to be addressed.
Chris and his team performed a demolition and installation in our kitchen. He was easy to communicate with, came out to do an estimate and explain all of the work and arrived on time the day of the job and finished in the timeframe promised. His team also did some small touch up jobs that weren't part of the original project for nothing extra! Would definitely hire again.

What do you say when things could not have gone better. Chris had done some work for us about 10 years ago at our old house and things went very well then. Chris responded quickly to my message outlining what work we wanted done at our new home and scheduled an appointment within a week to see the jobs. He outlined how he he thought the work should be done and how much it would cost. He was bit more expensive than my lowest estimates, but significantly cheaper than the higher estimates. We reached agreement on the spot and he schedules the work to be done in about two weeks. He showed up on the scheduled day and time with his helper. He had all the materials he needed, did the work exactly as outlined, and did an excellent job. He is a reliable, efficient, and quality handyman. I recommend him highly!
Description of Work: We had a small handrail installed at the top our interior stairs and we had our two outside handrails repaired, reanchored to make solid, and painted.

Chris came out promptly and gave me an competitive quote. I really appreciated his desire to get done what I needed, not sell me services I didn't need. For example, I thought I needed to completely replace the tub surround in the bathroom and Chris indicated that simply removing the old caulk and grout and replacing it would probably be fine as the materials were still sound. He was great at thinking outside the box and getting to the ultimate goal of the repair rather than just doing what I thought needed to be done. We eventually realized that I needed to file an insurance claim for the repairs so we didn't end up using his services, but I would absolutely call him for future needs.

Chris Jackson is very knowledgable about just about everything you'd need to have done in your house. He is very well versed and experienced. I recommend him highly based on my work relationship with him. After so many years and so many different jobs, he's done plumbing, contracting, repairs, remodels. Most recently it was a small job in my kitchen, but other times it's been much more.

He did a great job. After he left, I could not put my SUV into the garage as the garage door was too low. I didn't want to damage my new vehicle. I texted him about the problem. He and his assistant came back within 10 minutes to make the adjustment. It was an easy fix and was very satisfied with his work. This is the 3rd time I've hired Chris Jackson to do the work for me.

Chris responded to my query about an estimate in a timely fashion and was very prompt for the appointment. We decided to go with Chris not only because his estimate was midline of the others, but because he was local and his response time and punctuality. When the work was scheduled he explained who of his men would be performing the work, Tony & Tony's son, Nick. They arrived just as scheduled and the first thing they did was put down tarps so as not to track - this was excellent! The first day the demolish was complete but they made sure they had the vanity installed so we could use the sink, and they tidied up after themselves putting all tools, etc out of the way. They finished the project within the time estimated -- being efficient, professional, and cordial. The glass mosiac tile they installed looks better than I imagined it would - this was not just a backsplash - I wanted the tile all along the bottom half of the walls...they did an awesome job! My husband used to do most of the home improvement type things himself, but due to an illness he no longer can do these things, so, after a search of a few years and several trial and errors, I'm happy to know we have finally found someone we can call with confidence to do those home improvement/repair jobs. I only wish we had discovered Chris and his team five years ago!

He had been recommended to me by a friend. He said he was with Angie's List so I gave him a chance. I'm now out $3500 and he didn't even do the work. He doesn't do any of the work, he just brings in handymen to do the work for him. He was never on site. He installed a doorbell and it only lasted for two weeks. He tried telling me the brand new doorbell I bought was faulty, then he changed his tune and said I didn't have enough amps. No attempt from him whatsoever to fix it. I'm disabled and need to be able to hear the doorbell ring. He was supposed to paint two rooms, but he only applied the primer. When I asked about when he was going to paint, he said it was done. I pointed out that it was just the primer and he said that it was paint. The can clearly states that what he used was just primer. So he painted two rooms, but only primed the ceilings. So I paid for him to paint three rooms including ceilings and all he did was paint two rooms and prime the ceilings. You can even still see the cracks in one of the ceilings. When I pointed it out to one of the workers, they called Chris and he said, "that's all the work I'm going to do." His phone when you call says he's "Angie's List #1 guy." That's a joke. I needed a specific list of things done and none of them were completed all the way.
Description of Work: I had hired him to pull the paneling out of one room and to paint two others, ceilings included.

Dear Mrs. [Member Name Removed] and concerned readers. This report is so full of lies and half truths, I will refrain from dealing with it in my usual lengthy an eloquent manner. A brief synopsis is as follows; [Member Name Removed] and I reached an agreement for one segment of a two part job. The first part was completed as agreed. The second part was scheduled but the customer cancelled it claiming she had a doctor's appt. After completing the job as requested, we were thanked, paid in full and told that the job looked great. It was a vast improvement! and in addition to the agreed upon items, we offered to move furniture as well as a few other freebies. The only complaint in question was a door bell, which I promptly diagnosed weeks later after a message requesting a problem. The doorbell which the customer bought, was defective. At that time, I told [Member Name Removed] to purchase a new one and I would replace it, Pro Bono! While there at the house there were no other concerns or complaints levied. So while I am waiting for a call to install a replacement, I get this fallacious report calling into question my character and ability. To make matters worse after publicly defaming my business, [Member Name Removed] then wants to enter into the complaint resolution process. Sorry [Member Name Removed] due to your tremendous lack of self control, lies and unsavory reporting, etc. We choose not to due any further business with you. We can no longer trust you. Perhaps next time you hire a contractor, you should actually read your contract before signing it, and not make it up as you go along. If you are ever sincere about conflict resolution you certainly should not trash a persons reputation and then expect them to respond favorably. Again we served you as we have thousands of other satisfied customers and when finished, you were happy and paid us in full. We chose to believe at the time you were telling us the truth.

Not a good experience at all. In short, I think this project, while rather straightforward, was over the head of Chris's workmen. I also believe I overpaid for the product received. The quality of the carpentry was average at best. The quality of wood used was not good...multiple cracks etc. I had to ask for things that I wanted several times over and I'm am still now going back and correcting myself. They secured a cabinet on the floor by drilling it in to a drain pipe. I figured this out because a strange sound was coming from the pipe that was never there before, after the cabinet was installed. I still had to convince Chris after several conversations to remove the cabinet...which to his credit he came back and did. They drilled and fed capped pipes through the same cabinet without ever asking me, which looked awful. Never seen that done before and multiple other qualified people I spoke with said the same. Other plumbing completed was fine and is working properly, although it's a bit sloppy compared to work I've had done from other plumbers. Wall painting was a bit sloppy as well. Professionalism was not great. I never felt like there was a lot of 'active listening' going on, had to ask for and explain things I wanted multiple times. Additionally, one of the workmen referred to my wife as 'baby'. Completely unacceptable. Found that out after the job was complete. I gave the work to Chris without bidding it out because I trusted his work based on previous experience, albeit roughly 5-6 years ago. That was clearly a mistake. On the plus side, he was responsive to calls/texts and offered to do a service for me in the future pro bono given they drilled in to my drain pipe. That said, I won't do business with them again so that's really of no value to me.

Dear [Member Name Removed] and concerned readers. This customer has tried a little to conceal his true identity, but after I shed some light on just a few of his many lies and half truths, I hope you will see what we are dealing with. The short version goes like this. We finished the work on schedule, [Member Name Removed] said we did a great Job, paid us, then said goodbye and all was well. It was a vast improvement over his original laundry room design but could have been much better. Three days later a minor error was found one which I myself have accidentally made, for which we were not asked to fix, but only help diagnose. The issue was found and fixed by the customer with my suggestion in less than an hour and then he came down with a diagnosis we call Diarrhea of the mouth and splashed it all over Angie's desk. Now for the rest of the story. I showed up at [Member Name Removed] Fox Chapel home and bid on two projects. [Member Name Removed] being somewhat handy and on a budget drove down the cost by offering to, "do the painting". Glad to let the customer share in the burden of remodeling, I acquiesced and then [Member Name Removed] a schematic for his new laundry room design, which his boss later approved. There was one minor problem, [Member Name Removed] who has been a customer for many years, failed to pay me on the last job two years ago! After bringing it to his attention he promptly wrote a check, but despite being a banker he neglected to pay me any interest on the debt. Was this done on purpose or was it just an oversight? I sought higher ground and was willing to forgive, why not he was giving me another job. We scheduled the work and my A rated seasoned crew of 13 years, who is capable of much greater tasks, yet not infallible, fell to it. Unfortunately [Member Name Removed] adopted the attitude that he knew better how to do the job and began to change the design and work order that my crew was directed to do. Daily concessions were made and the end result was unorthodox. Imagine approaching a sink and having to [Member Name Removed] first to the right and then to the back to avoid hitting your head. Not to mention stepping back to open the door. The original agreed upon plan was to put the old cabinets on the other side of the room and leave access to the re-positioned sink without hindrance. The cabinets had to be hung twice. We were told the customer would finish the kick plate. When hovered over almost constantly by someone and asked to do things that are different from the norm, it can get frustrating. Trying to keep the peace, we did some of the painting with the customers cheap paint of the wrong color and thus an uneven sheen appeared. Why then does the customer complain about the painting which he said," he would do"? Just for the record [Member Name Removed] The painter not only paints, but he prepares the surface by sanding, spackeling , caulking, priming, setting some nails and even sanding rough wood and filling any and all cracks in it. Things that you agreed to do. He fails to mention that we did these things and even fixed his toilet. The large hole in the wall for the dryer vent was additionally repaired. Other things asked to be done were and on our hands and knees we cleaned up and tested all the equipment. Yet on the third day after the job was complete, "something", as Miss Clavele said, "was not right". There was said to be an alleged strange gurgling and pronounced splashing noise. Much to our chagrin when we returned, after being asked once, to remove a cabinet that the customer tried and failed to do, all allegations of any issues seemed normal. Nothing out of the ordinary was found. We offered our theories and parted in a quizzical manner. It was only later that the customer, to his credit removed part of the wall and found that the installed cabinet had two screws that were in inadvertently screwed into the drain pipe coming from up stairs. Now [Member Name Removed] I ask you for an honest answer, Is it possible that my men did this accidentally. Is it possible that you accidentally forgot to pay me interest, despite being a banker? Is it possible that because you removed the offending screws before I got there, that I was unable to make an accurate diagnosis? And is it possible that you coped an attitude and then renewed your subscription to Angie's list just to defame my and my men's character? Is it all together possible that you lied to us when we left and you said. "thanks guys really good job"? And then to add insult to your self and injury, you try and renegotiate the price after the work is well nigh done? Talk about professionalism? Lastly, when the women of the home, clearly the boss, does not introduce herself, she could be referred to with such terms of endearment as Mame, Dear, Honey and yes, even Babe, with no ulterior motive. You have joined the ranks of the first ungrateful customer of mine, who painted her house pink and named herself Bunny. Let her know I said hello and would be willing to forgive the both of you if you can bring yourself to publicly repent of this injurious and fallacious report. Angie, as for your list, it's like our favorite fast food restaurant, "I am still loving it"

Responsiveness was excellent, the way it should be for all contractors, but sadly, is not. Chris seems receptive to smaller jobs, which is great for somebody like me who owns a smaller home. Almost any job we ever have will be on the small side. The work was completed on time. The initial scheduled date was rained out and Chris called in a timely manner to get another date scheduled. A small section on the steps was missed, and the capping of the gas line wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I was not present for the job and thus didn't get a chance to ask why it was done the way it was done. Overall, we were very satisfied with the service. I hope to use them again for future jobs.

This is the second time I used Chris Jackson and I can't say enough about the quality of work done by his crew. The crew are very personable and diligent in doing a great job seeing that all details are met to my satisfaction. They were here for several days and each day removed and swept all debris. OUTSTANDING, thanks to Chris.
