Chris Jackson's Contracting

He actually left quite a bit of a mess.

They did a good job. They were very professional and very friendly. They come back if there are mistakes or if something is not right. They came back right away. They had everything done in three days. The price is okay. I would use them again in the future.

I did not have a good experience with him. I was very disappointed. One of his fellows put a hole in my copper gutter as he was going through the wood. He started a couple of other things but I don't think he did more than $300 worth of work which he disagreed with. He said that we would just call it even. I would never recommend him for anybody to do anything. They didn't seem to know what they were doing. They were extremely incompetent. As he walked away he said he wouldn't tell anyone if I didn't, like it was partially my fault. I was really discouraged by him. I felt like he was threatening me and I never felt comfortable with him after that. I feel like suing him but I haven't gotten the time. I would not hire him. He never completed the work. I think he felt he had me over a barrel because I signed a contract. He originally was supposed to do 3 or 4 projects and the total was around $2000. He took a long time to get back to me. He had a very small crew and he took on too many jobs.

He was very nice and he came out. He was very thorough. I liked him. He seemed to know what he was doing. He seemed to be concerned about the possibility of some collides or damage that might occur with our work that he was doing. I thought he was knowledgeable. I thought he would be easy to work with. We used a different process which he was suggesting and he didn?t have the capacity to do that process. So we decided to go in a different direction. Everything that he did was fine. Our experience with him was limited but he was excellent. His responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were excellent. I would use his services again in the future for a quote.

Chris came by one evening so I could show him what I needed done. A hole had been cut into the paneled bedroom wall to install new plumbing and the previous owner of my home left the hole open. I wanted it patched up and prepped for painting. While I was there I also asked about removing the old bathroom medicine cabinet and installing a new one. We also talked about installing an electrical outlet since most modern medicine cabinets do not include one (unlike the ancient piece I currently had). He took some measurements, gave me an estimate and we scheduled a date for the work to be completed. On the scheduled date Chris and his associate arrived promptly and began the work. Most of the work was done by the other gentleman, who worked all day except for taking a short lunch break. The work was done beautifully - the hole patched, my new medicine cabinet and light fixture installed and the remaining space also patched and prepared for painting, and the outlet installed. My home and cats were respected and everything was cleaned up when the workman left. The work was completed on time, to my specifications, and at the amount I was quoted.

Chris and his helper spent approximately 1-1/4 hours on the job with Chris talking to me part of the time while his helper did the work. I thought the price was very high for the small amount of work done. The leaks stopped for approximately 3 months. Then they started again. I had someone else come in and replace the entire skylight. It has not leaked since.

I was reasonably impressed with his work. He came out one evening and we went over the list of things that I would like done. He worked out an approximate price, told me when he?d come, and he did. He arrived, fixed the stuff, made sure everything was taken care of, and then took off. The wallpaper project was fairly fun to watch and they made certain that the concrete project worked. I believe he charged about $50 an hour which I think is consistent with other folks. I would use him again.

Chris went out of his way to help us get electricity restored to our bathroom. He rearranged his schedule to come the same day we called. He returned the very next day to finish all the other tasks we hired him for, most of which was electrical work, but also fixing and reinstalling a washer and dryer, repairs to doors, etc. His price was more than fair. He has a GREAT attitude about wanting to take care of his customers. We will definitely use him again.

During the entire experience, Chris and his men were courteous, dependable, and responsible. He responded promptly to our calls, provided free estimates, and stuck with his prices. They arrived as scheduled and took the time at the end of each day to give us a progress report. He is very experienced, pleasant to work with, and well versed in multiple areas -- remodeling, lighting, painting, plumbing etc. All the work done was very satisfactory and they cleaned up after themselves. We were well pleased with all the work and will use his services again.

I asked Chris to come by the house and provide an estimate for bathroom remodel. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. After talking about what I wanted, he provided a rough quote right on the spot and indicated he would provide a more detailed bid if I remained interested. I ultimately postponed the bathroom remodel, but his quote was very competitive. Had I gone forward with the remodel, I would have chosen Chris's company.

Everything was fine, they were not the lowest estimate but they were professional and prompt.

See services he provided above. The work went great, the estimate was quick, things seem fine (it has only been 4 days). He squeezed me in the next day. One of the best parts was how smart and polite he is, I appreciated dealing with someone who could hold a good conversation about the issues and help me resolve it. Also, this is a rental house. Chris used a "lockbox", let himself in and out when no one was home and there were no issues with tenants personal stuff. He was even careful not to let the cat escape. Would DEFINITELY use again, very glad to have a new handyman!!

We were very happy with the finished product. The crew was considerate, reliable, on time and they worked very hard. We got our money?s worth. We used them based on our neighbor?s recommendation.

It went great. Chris is very responsive. Every time I called him he answered his cell phone. He was on time and did everything like we discussed. While he was at our home he found a few other items (door knob and door hinge) that needed fixed. He repaired those at no charge. Chris was nice to work with and did a great job!

I went with him because of his rating on Angie's List. I have used him for a number of things, and did does what he says he's going to do. He does a lot of different things and he listens to what you want. He makes suggestions but he always does it the way you decide you want to do it. He gives the price up front and sticks to the price. If there's something that's flexible he tells you that and tells you what he had to spend to do it. He's very reliable. He is very responsive, and is always on time. He calls when he's coming, and I will continue to use him.

They turned out to be great support for me. They came on time, gave me an estimate, completed the job timely and wrapped it all up without a lot of fuss.

They did it in one day and they did not leave a mess. They did try to match the paint for us but we did the paint work ourselves. They did a good job for the cost of the work.

He was thorough and thoughtful and he worked quickly, much quicker than I expected him to. I will be using him again in the future.

He did very adequate work but his prices were way too high.

My experience with him was very positive. I can?t say enough about what a wonderful job he did with my house. My radiator exploded last winter and there was water everywhere from the second floor to the first floor and very room had to be painted. There was plaster damage and wood work damage in every room. He was fabulous, courteous and responsive. I can?t say enough about him. I spent about $2300 and I thought that it was worth every penny and I was happy to spend it.

We had a mixed experience with Chris Jackson. He and his crew were very friendly and polite and we would recommend them for some things and not for others. Some crew members were wonderful and we were impressed with their sense of responsibility. Others did a pretty shoddy clean up job all around. THE HONEY-DO LIST: A For the things Chris Jackson worked on by himself only, (which was pretty much everything except the cementing down in the basement and the tree trimming) the work was fine. He was friendly, punctual, competent with good attention to detail -- asking us types of switches we would like, etc. No issues there at all. TREE TRIMMING: A Not sure exactly the proper way to trim a tree is, but they did exactly what they said they would, which was to remove branches that were interfering with lines going to the house. The clean up was good. CEMENT WORK: C- The cement work proved to be somewhat of a problem, with continuous poor clean up in the basement. The first day they left a lot cement dust everywhere and the floor was very dirty. Because they said they weren't done, it wasn't a huge issue until we realized they tried to clean up by using as much water as possible to get it down the drain -- which ended up soaking belongings of ours in the basement with water and cement dust (and fiberglass). Chris Jackson was alerted to this, apologized, and brushed it off more as a slight inconvenience to us than a problem his crew needed to work on. After the 3rd day of working on this stuff and the cement work finally complete, the basement STILL wasn't properly cleaned up and one of the workers, who was very conscientious and responsible, left his card and came back the next day to try to continue cleaning the mess by himself (he wasn't getting paid extra for this, he did this on his own time). A very kind and impressive gesture, but the area still was not completely cleaned by the end of the day. We ended up just taking another hour or two to slowly mop the rest of the cement dust up. We also found clumps of cement in our backyard that had been dumped there with fiberglass sticking out. (We didn't catch this until days later; we didn't think to look there since no work has been done in the back yard). When work is done by a contractor, it's a reasonable expectation that things will look exactly how they did, if not better, before the contractor and his crew came. OVERALL: I would strongly recommend Chris to friends for honey do lists but not larger, messier projects done INSIDE the house. Outside jobs and smaller jobs that involved little cleanup were fine, but a more conscientious clean up on inside jobs by his crew is an area that really needs to be worked on (this is NOT the fault of any one crew member, there were multiple crew members involved in the cleanup and only one seemed to have a real sense of responsibility which we really appreciated).

Chris came to my son's home to do an estimate, he was very thorough and made some recommendations. After accepting his bid, he told us that his crew would start the next Tuesday. That morning he was there also and I suggested we do another walk through because there might be some plastering he would want touched up before they started. We agreed on a few additional jobs, he gave me a price and they started to work. He checked on them by phone and even stopped over to be sure things were getting done to his satisfaction. Chris has a good business sense and knows what the customer wants. I could tell the crew liked working for him and that he appreciated their hard work. I felt like they were working as if it was their own house. Great company! Great workers!
