Chris Jackson's Contracting

Mr. Jackson came and gave me a fair estimate for some work, which will be done in stages. He was very kind and always calls me back. I am an older woman and some people try not to deal fairly with me Mr. Jackson is not like that. The first stage of the work was done today by Tony and Nick and they were just as nice to deal with and did excellent work. Chris and Tony both answered my questions without making me feel stupid. All I can say is thanks.

Chris was recommended by a colleague who is a perfectionist. I therefore knew immediately this would be a great referral. We needed Chris to undo a badly botched wallpaper removal & paint job. A number of paint contractors had assessed this job & refused to take it on. Chris’ team acknowledged that it would be a difficult job but in the end did stunning work. Importantly, they started & completed the work in the time frame promised. He also kept to his original quote & checked daily on our satisfaction. Without a doubt the best painting work we have had done in 35 years. We would definitely hire Chris for any future projects & recommend him highly.

Chris was timely and gave me a fair estimate for the work. He did great work, very competent and quick. I would use him again.

The job went great. Chris came over promptly to provide a price. The crew arrived on time on the scheduled day. The old paint was flaking and peeling and needed a lot of prep work. The crew was friendly and professional and cleaned everything up before they left. And they patched a gutter leak too. The finished job looks very nice.

Chris Jackson and his crew are fantastic. We've been relying on Chris for more than 15 years, and make use of his services about twice a year. He is skilled, reliable, efficient and often creative. As a senior retired couple, we would not have been able to remain in our home (which is even older than we we are) without his expert repairs. Contractor sent message via Angie's List about a possible day available for estimates. I texted a phone number saying the afternoon of that day would work. Never heard from until that day...almost a week later. Saud he 'confirms the day of appointment ' and was extremely rude when I said that did not work for me. I have a job. Plus someone answered back and came sooner. Your lost wages.....not mine 🤷♀️

Chris was fully professional and reliable. He arrived as arranged with associates having the needed skills for my project and did an excellent job all in one day. He had some down time during the day and spent it finding and repairing problems I didn't even know I had - at no additional cost. Speaking of cost, his charges were in line with other contractors I considered. I would hire him again and recommend him to friends and neighbors.

He is excellent in every way: organization, communication, diagnosis and execution of the work. He did have to postpone in order to finish a job he was working on, but he let us know and communicated with us about it in a way that led to a mutually satisfactory arrangement.

He came to do an estimate and was extremely overpriced gave me a quote on a fixing a fan in the Attic of $400 without even so much as poking his head into the Attic (this later actually cost me under $100 with a different contractor). Another job he quoted me on he told me I needed to an entirely new garage door opener which would cost close to $500 with labor.. I was later found out I was able to buy a $100 kit and did not mean to replace the entire thing. He was also very pushy.

Chris and his colleagues were terrific. Their work was professional and completed with skill. Chris was organized and no-nonsense in all respects from the estimate through completion of the work. I am already looking to have him back to help us refinish and insulate our garage and our attic. Hiring Chris from Angie’s List was an excellent decision!

The work lasted a few days. Chris and his men arrived on time, and informed me that if they would be delayed they would call to let me know. The work went well, but if I had concerns they listened and made appropriate corrections. They conducted themselves in a professional manner while working, and thoroughly cleaned up after the work was completed. I would certainly hire them again in the future.

Chris as his crew were a pleasure to work with. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent and the quality of work definitely met our expectations. We would not hesitate to use Chris again in the future and highly recommend.

Do you ever just have a handful of projects that you have been meaning to get done but don't? Well we are so glad we called Chris. We just called concerning one project but found out he was able to help with several. Chris and his crew did a great job! He was friendly professional and quick. Chris called the night before to confirm appointment. He arrived on time. He was in and done in an hour and a half. He said that he would call me by Friday or Saturday but never did.

He quoted me a $1275.00 price which included the tub surround. I purchased a tub surround at Home Depot for $129.00 and found another guy to put it in for $300.00 and was done in 3 hours. He clearly was trying to take advantage. Terrible! It took him two days to call me and an hour later called me again to say he just got my message and was returning my call. I told him we spoke an hour ago. Like I said Terrible on so many levels.

I had a vacant apartment unit in my house that needed some light renovation. The work included ceiling repair, removal and replacement of two toilets, and removal of two heating units that were no longer in use along with drywall patches to the walls. There was also some miscellaneous weather stripping and door repair work. Chris was very punctual and he and his team were professional and provided quality work. Since then, I've contacted Chris for a small repair in one of the bathrooms and, even though it wasn't a big job, he was able to accommodate me quickly. I plan to use Chris for my work going forward.

Met every expectation. Punctual, engaged multiple workers to get a large number of jobs completed quickly, and ensured that we were satisfied, and indeed happy, with the work on every task.

I went great! Everything was completed as explained. The gentleman doing the work was professional, personable and knowledgeable.

Chris first came to give me an estimate, as is is protocol. After checking out the job, he suggested that I paint the old aluminum siding and to install shutters on the front of the house. I was thrilled with the results. The house looks like a totally different place. Everyone from the mailman to our neighbors and waste management have complimented us on how it looks. The real praise should go to Chris and his crew. They are always a pleasure to work with. I look forward to having him back to do more jobs. There is always something to do. Chris even points out things that he sees that I sometimes don't think about. I highly recommend him.

I have been using Chris Jackson Contracting for the last few years and know that I can depend on him and his crew to do a professional job. I sent Chris a service request for an estimate and he quickly responded. He is aware that I work nights and is always accommodating to my schedule. He showed up on time and not only provided an estimate, but replaced my door knob and re-keyed it for me right then. I didn't have to wait for the actual repair day. Chris gave me a fair estimate for all the odd jobs. Will keep you posted on how it goes, but I am sure that it will be done to my satisfaction and perhaps beyond, as this is how he and his men roll. The date for service is November 5th.

Chris and his team were efficient and did a great job installing a fence in our home.

For the past five to six years, Chris Jackson and his crew have done handyman work at my house, primarily gutter cleaning, without incident. In June, I asked that his team also fill any holes in my foundation that may be allowing little critters to get in my basement, in addition to cleaning the gutters. And I specifically asked that a hole under my front porch be filled because I could see that one, while I was not sure where any others might be. The day that the work was to have been done, I could see that the gutters had been cleaned, but I could not tell that any foundation holes had been filled, particularly under the porch. I contacted Chris about this, and he insisted that his crew had spent hours filling holes in the foundation, including under the porch. It wasn’t until I took pictures of the holes under the porch and sent them to him that he said he would send his guys back to look to see if where they might have missed something — and then suggested additional charges might be made. The holes under the porch were filled at no additional charge because Chris said the work did not take much time. But when I asked for some indication of where other filled holes might be, such as having someone on the team show me where that work was done, Chris became indignant. In texts, he said “I’m sorry I just do not have the time to send a crew back to walk you through what was done...” and “...please send the check - you are no longer waiting for the work to be done therefore I should not be waiting for a check.” He insisted that based on our previous work relationship I should just trust him, and he said he would have his guys text me where to look to see where the work was done. I did send the check, not because I trusted him but because I was knew I was going to have a busy summer that included out-of-town trips, and I wanted to put this behind me. But I never received any texts from anyone with information about where holes other than the ones I took photos of were filled, which means I have no way of knowing if the work was done. (I even reminded Chris about having someone text me a week after I sent the payment, and he said he would tell someone to do that but no one contacted me.) This wasn’t a very costly experience for me, but it was very frustrating and disappointing.
