Remnant City Carpet

We have used Remnant City several times for carpeting and had always been happy with the carpet and installation. Recently we purchased carpeting for a finished basement. The carpeting itself is nice but the installation was done very badly. Edges around a vinyl kitchen floor were left unfinished. Areas around a heat register and a fireplace were very sloppy. We had a lot of work done in that area and 2 different contractors commented on the poor quality of the carpet install. The worst part was that Remnant City offered no assistance in getting these areas fixed. We were directed to call the installer directly, but he essentially said that was the best he could do. Calls and e-mails back to Remnant City yielded no response.

First of all, the installer was great! Randy was there on time, did a great job and was very friendly. The issue that I have with Remnant City is how they handled my issue with my carpet. My carpet had to be stretched 3 times after installation because it kept getting bubbles in the carpet. It got to the point where they had people from the carpet manufacturer's mill had to come and test my carpet to see if it was flawed. The investigation showed that there was nothing wrong with the carpet (I'm not sure how). After this was determined, Remnant City never contacted me again or tried to discuss this problem with me. Now I am stuck with a carpet that is 7 years old but looks much older than that from being stretched so many times. I do not have any pets and I am the only person in my home, so this has been a hard pill to swallow looking at this carpet that is so beat up looking but only receives my foot traffic. I am very unhappy with how Remnant City handled this issue and will not deal with them again.

We visited the store in Wexford and selected from a surprisingly wide variety of styles and patterns. The people at the store were incredibly friendly and helpful. We selected a remnant and scheduled the installation appointment for the next week. The installers called ahead and showed up on time. They inspected the area to be carpeted with me, explained the process, and began work immediately. Work finished ahead of schedule and the area was cleaned up of any debris. I was very happy with the entire service and would use them again with no reservations.

This is a great way to get a nice area rug, cut to the size you need. It's less expensive than going to Target, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and you get to choose the rug from the remnants in the store or from pre-bound remnants. The people are super-nice. Highly recommend!

There should really be two different grades here. The in-store side of the transaction was great. Remnant City has great carpets for very good prices. We only had to carpet two rooms, so it was perfect. Staff was super knowledgable and very helpful. A+ The installation was a little less great. Overall, the guys were punctual, clean and friendly, however they didn't necessarily go the extra mile. I have a room that has moulding on only part of the wall and instead of pulling up the moulding and carpeting under it, they just cut around it for the carpet. I didn't notice until I pulled up the moulding for another project. I assume this is the case for the other parts of the room with moulding, too. Also the cut the carpet around a hearth on one of the rooms but left the edges bare with no trim. B- Anyhow, I would definitely go back again, but perhaps give more clear instructions to installers or find someone else to install.

Everyone at Remnant City was approachable, friendly & very helpful. The three installers went above and beyond in helping us with the removal of our old carpet. We are 100% satisfied with this experience and the carpeting. Will without hesitation recommend Remnant City.

The first time I spoke with Greg in the North Hills location, I knew my experience with Remnant City was going to be positive. He was very knowledgeable and helped me find the right carpet for my children's playroom and steps. The price was unbelievably affordable and the quality of the carpet was too. It gets better. The installer they selected was equally great. They were on time and did a perfect job. I'm a very picky person and they met my expectations.

Randy Richardson and Mike arrived at my home at 8:15 a.m. on July 18, 2013. They took up the old carpet on two sets of stairs and in my living room, dining room and hallways. They took away the old carpet and came back from Remnant city with my new carpet, Cavalier Preview 60 Silver and Black. Before they began, they moved all my funiture in my living room and dining room out to my patio, which gave them the ability ro lay my new carpet in one piece. Randy measured perfectly so the new carpet fits perfectly. Then they moved all my furniture back into my townhouse. They worked hard and were finished by 2:00 p.m. My new carpet looks beautiful, and I would highly recommend Remnant City for new carpet or flooring.

It was a good experience. I checked out Remnant City, because I only wanted to carpet a single room 12 X 15. They had lots to choose from. I knew I wanted a charcoal gray carpet and and the sales woman immediately directed me to carpets of those colors. I really like the carpet I chose. You should also buy the better padding. Makes all the difference and well worth it. They made arrangements to have it delivered on the day that I chose. The installer arrived on time, was fast, professional, and did a nice job.

I picked out the carpet I wanted and the Tuesday before Thanksgiving the technician came out and as soon as he came in the door, he saw my steps and stated that the carpet I picked would look terrible. He explained that the type of carpet would not look good on the stairs because they were uneven, and the carpet would not be able to stretch. He gave some suggestions on carpet that would look good. I will go down to the store and choose a different one and have them install it. I'm glad he brought that to my attention as I would not want carpet to look bad in my home!

I give them A's across the board. They were good. They have a large variety to select from, and the price is very reasonable.

Everything about their service was great. We had already taken up carpets so they didn’t do any of the work beforehand. They just laid down the carpets and added the carpets. Their price was great. Their service and their options were great.

I went to those BigBox stores and they wanted double the price to put in basic carpet on my steps and landing going to my basement. My neighbor told me to try Remnant City and said I would be surprised. He was right. I walked in picked out my carpet and padding, asked if they did installation, they said yes. Set a date. No problems. And the carpet looks good. The only thing bad I could say is the installers could have cleaned up a little better after themselves. But for half the price of the BigBox stores,I swept up with a smile on my face!!

The carpet was excellent quality. They were on time, cleaned, didn't scratch up the walls, and had it done in one day. Also they hauled the old carpet too.

Purchasing the carpet at the showroom was an easy process. All the women were pleasant and helpful. We scheduled our installation on May 20, 2010 for their 1st appt (about 8-8:30 am). There was some mix up with the time/date, and we had to make a few calls in the am to find out what was going on. The installers were about 1-2 hours late but apologetic about the mix-up and finished in a timely manner. The carpet was installed to our satisfaction.

REMNANT CITY IS A VERY GOOD PLACE TO DO BUSINESS. THEIR PRICES ARE VERY GOOD AND THEIR PEOPLE WHO LAY THE CARPET ARE GOOD WORKERS AND VERY HONEST. THEY DID A GOOD JOB.
