SO glad we hired Randy!!! In our quest to deal with bowing and cracked walls in our basement, we had two prior encounters with waterproofing companies, one so aggressive we had to ask him to leave, and a second who said, "I don't want to scare you, but your house may fall." (Lost some sleep over that one.) We then got a repair estimate from Matthews Wall Anchor, who has been great and will likely win our business. But we needed expert guidance from someone who could evaluate all of our issues and had just our interests at heart. Randy responded immediately to our Angie's List inquiry, and was out as promised early the next day despite school-delay snow and uncleared roads. He was kind and cheerful, evaluated Matthews' proposal, helped us prioritize to potentially reduce the scope of repairs, suggested other things to help our issues, like regrading and gutters, and reassured us that once the wall anchors were through a good season of tightening, we would be able to re-panel or dry wall so appearance would not be permanently impacted. Randy's fee was truly the best house money we have spent and a great investment in our home's future. We will be sleeping better tonight, knowing that - barring any Big Bad Wolves in Bethel Park - there is no imminent danger to our property, or to our wallets from unnecessary expenses. Highly recommend!!

Capstone called me almost immediately after I had submitted a request via Angie's List. Beth was very professional on the phone, worked with my schedule. Josh came out to survey the site, spot on time. He explained everything he saw very professionally, but in ways we could understand. He also let us know just how bad (or, really, not bad), my issues were. He went above what I had hoped for. Highly recommend them, will use again if necessary.

Josh the engineer spent about 45 minutes to evaluate the foundation. He was on time and provided useful suggestions. This evaluation was not for a pending home sale, so he provided the recommendations verbally, as we had agreed.

Capstone was very knowledgeable and professional. Provided a variety of options for what I needed, listened and didn't rush through the appointment. I would consult with them further and for other projects as well. Josh was great!

Josh came to my home and performed an inspection of our basement wall. He measured the deflection level on the wall. He gave us some recommendation for repairs and even recommended some different companies. They were very prompt, fair, and professional. I will definitely call them again for future work.

Everyone at Capstone Structural was very professional and prompt. I received an appointment quickly and the engineer that came out to our house was punctual and very professional. I would definitely use them in the future if needed.

Josh was punctual and professional. He took time to inspect the puzzling findings and shared photos with his colleagues to reach a final verdict. I trust the company's findings and am proceeding accordingly. Realize that engineer fees are a bit pricey!

He's a guy who gets paid by the hour so I would say his prices were just a little higher than reasonable. He's very thorough, extremely careful, good communicator, knows what he's talking about, and pretty caring. He could have been a little cheaper but that's how he earns his daily bread. The clock starts running because he's a consultant and he's paid by the hour.

Very responsive and professional

We are evaluating options to repair several conditions in the basement and after quotes from service providers that did not seem to be directed at the root problem, decided to call in an engineer. They discussed many of the options we had already considered and we were generally in agreement on what was most effective for our situation. They were able to provide guidance on one additional technique that we had not previously considered and a number of service providers that specialized in that technique. We are currently working with another round of contractors to implement the solutions recommended by Capstone. They were also very easy to work with logistically, providing advance advice over the phone, being flexible in scheduling and following-up via email post-walkthrough.

It was very easy to make arrangements to set up a site visit. The engineer was prompt, very professional and very thorough. I received the letter as promised with the appropriate amount of information. Overall, the cost was very reasonable and I would hire Capstone again.

We thought we were having foundation issues with our house. We had two companies provide us estimates to put in piers to stabilize the foundation. When we received the estimates, they were drastically different in price and one company thought that five piers we necessary while the other thought only three were needed. I wanted an independent review and assessment of the problems plus advice on the two proposals we received. When I called the office, they were very professional and flexible with the appointment times. Randy came out when he said he would (and even called when traffic tied him and caused him to be just a little bit late), he was very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He went to each spot that we had concerns with and took the time to review the issues and explain what was happening. As it turns out, the cracks in our mortar do not appear to be related to foundation settlement, so he didn't think that piers were even necessary at this time. He gave us suggestions on how to fix the cracks which we'll follow through on in order to monitor the situation going forward and was he reviewed the two quotes we received and provided guidance. At no point did we feel rushed or confused as to what was going on. I've already recommended this company to a friend and would recommend to anyone else that needs independent review.
