We had a partial power outage in a rental property. I suspected taht there was a problem with a breaker in a sub panel. The electrician arrived & wanted a credit card for the trip charge before starting. Then explained that there would be a $475 diagnostic charge to inspect the panel which I agreed to. He opened the panel & discovered that the breaker that I suspected was not in use & the wire had been moved to another breaker in the box & that was not the issue. He went to the main panel & found nothing wrong there. He did note that the main box had some corrosion & was getting some moisture but this was not causing the issue. I asked him to actually test the area that was with out power & he said that he would need to call his boss about the fee as the diagnostic fee was for one circuit only. I explained that I need to get power back on for these tenents due to special circumstances that I won't go into here for the privacy of the tenent. & asked him to test the other circuits in the sub panel. He found that one of the circuits was bad. I asked him to move the wires like was done to the other bad breaker. he said that was not up to code & he could not. He said that we should repalce both panels & the service throwing around number like $12000 to $20000. I told him that I would have to bid a job like that. He then said that he could "use the sub panel as a junction box" & not move the wire to from the bad breaker to a good breaker but wire nut the 2 wires together with a 3rd wire & connect that to the breaker & that would meet code. He would do the same for the old fix to the sub panel as well. He said he would chage an additional $1275 for that. He said the $1275 would include the additional diagnostic that he did. I knew I was getting fleeced but wanted to get the power back on & agreed. The fix took about 20 minutes. The total bill was $1845 & the total time at the house was about an 1.5 hours.
Description of Work: Diagnosed a problem and re-wired a breaker.

The " electrician " came in and said I need your credit card for the trip fee. Paid the $65.00 was told that putting in 2 outlets would be $650.00 - !000.00 each outlet . Told him to leave that we were not paying that much money. He then said since we seemed like nice people , he could come back on his own time and do the job for $250 an outlet , but had to be cash. WE showed him the door.
Description of Work: Charged $65.00 show up fee.

It went very well. I had no heat , they found the problem quickly, came out promptly, had everything on their truck and stayed all day until I had heat again. Fully satisfied, Later I found out from my pastor they actually have done work for my church for years, as I recently found out. They do the lighting and it looks fabulous. I have also seen their trucks around town so I knew they have been around for a while. They got me out of a jam, and I am fully satisfied.
Description of Work: Three Rivers Electric came out to fix my furnace as I had no heat. A rodent had chewed through my wiring and they made an emergency service call to my home and found the problem and repaired it correctly. They were here working all day. I found they had an (A) rating on the Better Business Beau so I got them out of the local directly and they were fine, and had no problems with them. Glad they came out on such short notice. Had everything with them to do the job. Satisfied. Would use again if needed.

He was here one hour and wanted to charge me and my mom $476 just to tell her our thermostat was bad. And in order to fix the thermostat, he wanted to charge an additional $639 to replace the unit. The bill states that they charged: $65 for the service call and $135 repair fee for each reset. But, they didn't reset anything. I told them no thank you and had my son go buy the thermostat for $20 at Lowes. Be warned.
Description of Work: Came out to service our thermostat.

The attitude of the supervisor was terrible! This was a paid visit. Refusal to accept the estimate was met with hostility on the part of the supervisor. Stay away from Three Rivers!
Description of Work: The actual estimate to replace a 2-light switch was $900!
