DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Nasty, rude and once you pay them, they could care less about you and any questions/problems you may have. Or they outright lie to you. This happened several times. The one employee asked me 5 times in a row if I was sure that his manager had told me that the steps would be delivered on a certain date. I told him yes and he would ask me the same thing again. Like I was lying to him. Very poor customer service skills. Also, I found out later that you are to go back to the store at the end of your experience and pick up your pool sweeper and at the same time give them a review. Needless to say the manager brought me the pool sweeper directly to my house, made a special trip. Now I see why. They did not want me to review them!
Description of Work: From the beginning they waffled on everything, price, time of installation, delivery, etc. First it was one cost, then they tried to raise the price, however, I had it in writing. Then I ordered a large deck and they delivered one half the size of the deck they said they were selling me. Finally after many phone calls and an actual trip to the store, they agreed that is what I paid for and sent me a 4 foot addition to the deck they had delivered (this is not the deck I ordered, but as it fill well also, I took it). Then delivery was put back time and again and they forgot half the pieces when they did deliver, so it took even longer to get. The installation company they subcontract from are also terrible. They never get back to you. The installers were rude and played heavy metal music the entire time they were there. Neighbors were not happy. Did a haphazard job. Never finished the entire deck installation. Very nasty when you asked any questions. This includes the people at Pool City too. Had to do half of the work ourselves (and this is not even the part that they don't cover and don't tell you they don't cover).

Everyone representing Pool City from staff at the store, excavator, installers were professional and very helpful. All provided helpful instruction for use and care. Installation was done correctly and efficiently. We are very happy with our pool and the package we received. We recommend Pool City without reservation.
Description of Work: We purchased a pool package from Pool City. Before making decision to purchase, we shopped and compared. We found that Pool City's package was best offer in terms of price and convenience. While there was not much difference in overall cost between Pool City and other "swim discounters", some discounters wanted us to provide sand and brick. In the discounter packages, pumps and filtration units were smaller. With Pool City's packages materials are provided and optional upgrades are reasonable. In the end, Pool City's cost and service was a hassle free bargain! One criticism (or warning ?) for anyone purchasing a pool from any retailer is the hidden costs. Retailers can't commit to a specific amount for things like excavating--they give a very general idea but this can become costly. Upgrading items such as filtration systems, ladders -- all have potential to cost a little extra. One example: A-frame ladder vs. steps that may require sand and anchor bags (minor details not immediately mentioned ). While cost for the small ticket items is not exorbitant, it all adds up.

We tried to self install our pool but were unable to. I called Pool City and they sent a crew of workers to my house within a few days. Upon arrival I was greeted by VERY professional workers. They were very helpful, and knowledgeable. They fixed all the mistakes we made and fixed our pool. Pool City gave us a great price. This company helped to provide me and my family a safe and secure pool to swim in to create wonderful family memories. Pool City will have my business for as long as I own a pool. Their CUSTOMER SERVICE was exemplary and their pool installers both professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend Pool City to anyone whom is considering purchasing a pool. I cannot say enough great and wonderful things about Pool City as a company and the workers they employ.
Description of Work: We tried to self install, but that went very bad. We had gotten a pool from a friend. Pool city came to our home, torn down everything we did. They leveled my yard and brought all the necessary supplies and equipment. They used a device called a transverse (sp?) to ensure my yard was level. Placed all the poles on cement block ( for extra added stability), dumped and leveled 2 tons of sand into the pool. installed the liner (which I might add has ZERO wrinkles in it) used a vacuum to ensure all air was taken out between the liner and pool walls. They cut in all the appropriate holes for the filter, and skimmer and taught us how to clean and check our pool. We did purchased the liner directly from pool city and we are very pleased. All we had to provide Pool City with was water and electric.

They installed a 30' above ground pool with deck. Totally poor service
Description of Work: If this company promises you anything get it in writing. The installation of our pool we have concrete coming up through the liner. We purchased a product called happy bottom thet is in between the liner and the sand. The product was not completely installed on the entire bottom giving us the feeling of walking on the cratered moon. They also installed a deck without fencing around it so no one would fall off. Pool City was to be at my home 6/9/2011 with a refund for the installation, a letter stating they would install a "new" pool liner and a credit for the deck to no avail. They now seem to have a brain lapse and only want to repair the liner, install the deck fencing and have backstroked on the refunds and credits. I have an answered report from the BBB from Pool City that stated I was to get the refund but we made this purchase 3/11 here it is almost 7/11 and still have the concrete coming through the bottom and the fence decking needing replaced. MY BEST ADVICE IS GET IT IN WRITING OR BETTER YET JUST STAY AWAY!

Salesperson was high pressure and rude. Tried to sell me a new swimming pool- was disinterested in helping me once he realized I just needed a liner. I asked about prices and he said he didn't want to check what he had in stock unless I was going to buy it. Never moved from his chair behind the desk. When I asked about books to help me learn about chemicals, he said "If you bought your pool here, we would help you learn." Perfect example of how commission based sales doesn't work for anyone!
Description of Work: Went to discuss the purchase and installation of a swimming pool liner and purchase necessary chemicals.
