Erik's Hauling and Moving

Never called me to arrange to pickup my hauling.

They guys did a nice job. It took about 3-4 hours and two dumpsters to haul away the material. The only problem was they borrowed a trash can (new one) and they left an old one that was cracked and nothing like the one they borrowed. However, not a big deal. I can buy a new one.

Erik himself was one of the two movers. Two days after the move, I discovered that my mother's new La-Z-Boy recliner had been damaged during the move; specifically, a sizable hole had been poked in the side of the chair. It was the side of the chair that faced the wall in my mother's bedroom so I did not notice it immediately. I left several voice messages that were not returned. On two occasions, I spoke with an employee who assured me that he would contact Erik immediately and have him return my call. He never did. During the next phone call, the employee told me that he would contact the reulphosterer the company used to repair damaged furniture. The fellow called me and asked me to send him a photo of the damage that occurred to the chair during the move which I did. When I did not hear back from the reulphosterer within several days, I called him and was informed that he could not fix the hole and that he had told Erik that he could not fix it. Despite several additional calls to Erik's during which I have left voice messages, I have not heard back from Erik or any other employee. If you value anything you need moved, do not use this company. The company should stick to hauling. It has no business advertising itself as a mover.

Fabulously. Both crews were professional and polite. My things were well cared-for in the move. Plus, the price and availability were amazing.)

Quick, easy move. Was quoted one price over phone, not an hourly rate which was great. Will use again.

Excellent -hauling away my couch ,tv and microwave for 140, reasonable priced, fast and friendly service. I would be happy to use them in the future

Erik's team showed up as scheduled. Upfront with details. No surprises. The guys worked hard and no issues. Removed 4 trucks of stuff. Well done and would recommend.

These guys were great! My mother and I hired them to clean out my brother's apartment after he passed away. They were early and hustled through what was probably well over 100 garbage bags (contractor size) and other big items. They needed to make three trips total, but the owner took the truck to dump it while his co-worker stayed behind and continued moving stuff out of the house into the yard. It was a very smooth process and they were done in about two hours.

It was great. They were really funny. The banter between them was cute. There was a man and women who did the work. They were very pleasant. They were so nice.

This company should be ashamed of themselves with regard to moving services. They have a lot of decent reviews on here for hauling, so maybe that's what they should stick to and stop advertising moving services if this is how they act. Here is the summary of my experience: - Contacted Erik in October. I was pleased that he answered quickly and that the owner himself spoke to me. He gave me prices per mover per hour and it was by far the best price I had seen. - I later reached out to schedule an in-house review of our items for a detailed estimate. We scheduled a day and time for a weekday evening - That evening, we waited and waited. 10 minutes after the appointment time I called and spoke to 'John'. He told me Erik was probably on his way and he'd try to reach out to him and call me right back. He never did, and I made a dozen or so calls back that night trying to reach someone to no avail. No call no show #1. - I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called back the next day and spoke to 'Becky'. She said Erik had an early flight or something and that's why he couldn't make it. Didn't make sense to me and even so, a call would have sufficed rather than wasting me and my family's time waiting for the wind. I got more prices from Becky which were different from Erik's original numbers. She pretty much said I need to talk to Erik again, and scheduled another day to meet for the in-home review of moving items. She said to call closer to the day to confirm. - When that day arrived, I called again that morning to confirm. I mentioned that there was seemingly a mix up the last time and wanted to ensure we were still on their books for an appointment. They gave me my address, reading off of their appointment book it seemed, and confirmed the appointment for THAT EVENING. I figured they had to show up this time, right? - The meeting time came and went, and again I called to see where they were. No answer. A dozen + other calls later and still no answer. I tried all of the numbers listed for them I could find. I left a voicemail and also an email submission on their website. No one has ever contacted me back after that day. Speaking of websites - if you haven't done any research yet, this company has 2 different websites and at least 2 different phone numbers. There are other reviews of this company on other sites that are pretty negative, and it makes me question if friends or relatives or employees of the company posted some of the good reviews. So, this company has ignored my calls numerous times, not returned messages to even TRY to make things right, quoted 2 different numbers, and had 2 no-call no-shows even when I tried to give them a second and third chance at my business. It amazes me that companies like this exist. I hope anyone that actually is able to schedule a move with this company has a good experience, but I would never recommend them and I strongly suggest to pay a little more for a reputable moving company. Heck, I feel so strongly against this company that I'd rather help you move for free if that was the only alternative to ensure you don't waste your time/money. Buyer most certainly beware.

Eric was very responsible and performed the work as we had discussed. Overall i was pleased with the service and would use him again.

I was a little nervous not using a national name moving company but I decided to go with Erik after reading the reviews for him here. They were fairly punctual for a Saturday morning (10-15 min after scheduled time but acceptable). They were very professional, friendly, and courteous. I used a major moving company a year earlier to move to a new residence and they were grumpy and upset if things didn't move on a strict time schedule, very military like. I was already stressed out and they didn't help. These 2 guys were nothing like that. They told me that they were here as long as I needed them and waited for me at Bed Bath and Beyond as I picked up protective felt pads to use under the legs to protect the wood floors. They protective wrapped and strapped down and each piece. It was tight getting the two larger pieces maneuvered to go up the steps to the second floor, but they thought each move methodically and took extra time and care not to damage my newly refinished wood steps (they set down padding and tried the move from different angles). It was even a little tight in the upstairs hallway. The move was for 2 men for 3 hours for $367. But I also had them move a few other pieces of furniture in the house that I couldn't move myself. They went into a fourth hour which added another $65 to bring the total cost to $402. That extra charge was well worth it getting the other pieces of furniture moved. Had I not had those extra moves done, it would have cost exactly what they quoted me. I am very satisfied and I would use them again. several other pieces of furniture.

WENT VERY VERY WELL. Erik is prompt, efficient and very professional. Call him, you won't be disappointed. I will call Erik again should the need arise. Prices are definitely the best around.

It went very well! I called Erik on Thursday, and spoke with him directly. He gave me an estimate for demolishing and removing an old metal shed and its remaining contents. He said he could come Saturday morning and did show up on time. Erik and his coworker quickly got to work, and tore down and disposed of the shed and everything in it in less than hour. They left the worksite very clean, and were friendly and easy to deal with. I'd been putting this project off for awhile, and it was so easy with Erik's help I wish I had done it quite awhile ago. I will definitely be calling Erik in the future and have already spoken with him about another hauling job.

My husband arranged to have a dumpster dropped off at 2:00 on Friday, May 30th. No one ever showed up, called or returned the several calls we left asking if they had still planned in coming. My husband took the afternoon off of work so he could be home when it arrived and to start filling it up. We spent a significant amount of time gathering things into our garage area to be able to dispose of into the dumpster when it arrived...my garage is still full of stuff and I have no where to throw it! I am a Realtor and my husband manages a Real Estate office...we will be sure to let our fellow agents know not to depend on this company.

Very well. We called on Sunday, talked to Erik himself and they were there as promised on Tuesday morning. It was a pain moving some of the things we had (had to take doors and windows out) but they got it all done promptly and well. Very nice folks to deal with, obviously concerned with customer services.

They did a great job. They were prompt, very courteous, and nothing was broken.

This was the first time I have ever hired movers and I was nervous. I have heard the horror stories, but these guys were awesome! To start, Eric was wonderful to work with. Every call was answered or quickly returned and the day before the move he called to verify we were good to go and let me know when the movers would arrive. John and Tom showed up promptly at 9 am and despite a constant rain that started about 10:00, had the old place loaded and ready to go by about 10:45. They worked steadily through the rain getting things unloaded at the new house. I had just had the hardwood floors refinished and put ram board down to the protect them. They put things exactly where i asked, not sitting anything on the bare floors. And when they discovered that my couch would not fit through the living room doorway, John was easily able to remove the window to get it in that way! Worked like a charm! They finished up about 12:30 and I couldn't be happier. If I ever need movers again, Eric will be the first call I make. They were courteous and respectful of my belongings and just did an overall great job.

It went great! From the start, Eric was very responsive to my initial call and came out to remove the junk almost immediately. Eric and his partner were professional, efficient, personable and did a wonderful job. The transformation is amazing and there is a lot of space in the basement and garage thanks to Eric's Hauling. My mother and father saved everything so there was 40 years worth of stuff to get rid of. I plan to use them again and will recommend them to my friends, neighbors and family.

They were very responsive and were able to provide service the next day after I called. This company had a pretty good price compared to what everyone else was doing. I helped them load everything on the truck and the job went as expected.

I spoke w / Erik on Monday, June 24, 2013 when he told me he was busy with another customer but would call me back at 6 PM that day. That call never came. I waited two days, called and left a message - nothing. Thinking that I may have forgotten to leave my phone number, I called the following day and left another message w / my phone number. THREE phone calls and 10 days have passed w / NO response. If Erik is that busy, fine - but he should have the common courtesy to call me. This is my first experience as a new Angie's List member (and) it was a company name furnished to me via email right after purchasing my new membership.

Erik was able to fit me in at the last minute, once he arrived as scheduled he made quickly removed all the stuff. It was so efficient!

We are extremely impressed with Erik's Hauling and Moving. When we called for a quote we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were talking to Erik, the owner of the company. Erik gave us an estimate then showed up the next day in a truck specifically designed for loading and transporting junk. He and his helper were very friendly, worked quickly and efficiently. We felt good hiring a local company that really wants to work, shows up and completes the job. I would highly recommend Erik's Hauling and Moving.
