Signature Heating, Air Conditioning and Geothermal

My Wife and I returned from our vacation to find that the freon line from our 23 year old heat pump to our house had frozen. Since the weekend weather wasn't too hot, we waited until Monday to call for service. We had issues with our previous service provider so we went onto Angie's List to find another one. Signature HVAC had very good reviews so I called them first thing (8AM) on Monday morning and explained our problem. I was reminded to check for a dirty air filter, but that they could have someone at our house by 1PM. I did go and change the air filter and the heat pump was operating again, cooling the house. I called Signature back and told them that our system was working again but that I still wanted a tech to look at it. Jason showed up at around 11:30AM. After some investigation, Jason found a burned out switch. We had another service provider look at that exact switch a month prior and was told that it was just stuck. Jason showed my otherwise that it was indeed fused, which would have made the unit run non-stop. However, once he replaced the switch, the fan would not turn back on. Jason worked this for over an hour and then decided to bring in another more senior tech. Good call on Jason's part as other techs would have kept wasting time trying to fix something they didn't know how to fix. Joe showed up at around 4PM and found two more major issues with the heat pump, both of which he showed me. Rather than putting good money into a heat pump that's way past it's age, I asked to talk to sales. Bill showed up on Tuesday at 11:30AM. Bill was very concise and knowledgeable about several options for us. Once we agreed on the product and price, Bill arranged for installation the next day! John and his partner (who's name I did not get) arrived at 7AM and worked all day, through almost 90 degree heat, installing our new heat pump and we now have a/c again! John even added a few extras like tying in our humidifier to the new control unit. From Rich and Kathy, who first took my call, through Jason and Joe, Bill and the installers, the Signature team was nothing but professional in every aspect. It is nice knowing that we now have a trusted HVAC service provider ... although regrettably they do not service oil furnaces. Thank you Signature! One minor negative, there has been no follow up from anyone at Signature since the installation ... except for a cookie delivery. The heat pump works very well so a follow up would have been perfunctory, but nice regardless.

They came on the same day. He charged me too much. The part was like $20 and he charged me the total including the labor $380.

The manager was helpful and looked to make the pervious situation better. The tech arrived and helped to figure out problem and I would recommend their services to others. Wonderful experience. Thanks again

Professional from start to finish, they got back to me quickly from my first call to have a salesman come and size up my requirements, he knew his stuff ! He came back the next day with a proposal which was about the same as the company who had been servicing my unit, who gave me a quote but didn't really explain anything and ot was a big dollar job. $15K Three days after I said go, the unit was installed the technicians were very professional and explained how everything worked.

The tech was knowledgeable and helpful given the short notice. However, the tech should have troubleshot the issue more thoroughly. I have another more extensive to job to bid out and will not give them an opportunity to offer services. I tried to call the company and was told that they will charge to come back out to fix the problem again.

They guy did a very good job. Sometimes I wonder if I am spending money or not that is foolish. He pulled the capacitor and I just saw it was frost through. The one outside didn't look good at all.

Scott, the tech from Signature was very professional and thorough. He provided information I needed to make an informed decision on certain repairs. He was courteous and I would definitely use Signature again in the future.

Installers were very informative and professional.

The installation team worked diligently and did a great job of getting the installation done. They took precautions to ensure that our hardwood floors were protected as the moved the old equipment out and placed new equipment into the space. They left the place clean and tidy. They had to install a house de-humidifer the same day (warranty replacement) and worked the extra hours to get both done within the same day. We have been using the Signature team for our HVAC units for over 4 years. They consistently go out of their way to respond to our needs. Most recent example was the need to replace a home humidifer unit which they installed over 4+ years ago. The unit had to be replaced a couple of years ago due to a manufacturer defect. The defect was was reported a few days after the warrantly period expired, The Mgmt team worked with Manufacturer to get the warranty replacement done. Unfortunately that same unit failed again a couple of weeks before the HVAC needed to be replaced. This occurred within the warranty period for the replacement unit and the Signature team worked with Manufacturer to get us the higher end replacement unit and took care of that installation for us.

Jason was prompt, very friendly and polite. He worked very clean and did a good job. He explained everything to me and was very professional.

I had no idea what was wrong with our HVAC but we no longer had AC. My fear was the 25 year old unit needed to be replaced but Signature arrived and although they were several hours late, they called me to update me on their new arrival time. I understand delays arise and the fact that they continued to call and update me on the new arrival time was greatly appreciated. They found a bad capacitor and we were up and running again in no time. I signed up for their maintenance contract to have the units maintained in the spring and fall. I would highly recommend, I was very satisfied....

After the install was complete, it was discovered that instead of draining the condensation pipe out side, the technician instead opened the sewer pipe and drained it in there. This was not to code in the township. Correct procedure had to be followed to repair the sewer pipe, the condensation pipe had to be reopened and drained to the outside. The project did pass inspection...finally but we are still waiting for the locks!!

The service man was great. He fixed everything quickly and was very polite.

Joe was very professional and a genuine person. He inspected the HVAC system which is 12-13 years old. Recommended few fixes to improve the performance. I decided to wait it out and invest money into a new system. I also spoke to Bill from the sales team on the same day to find prices and options for a new havac system. He is very knowledgeable and took time to educate me on all the options available. He made recommendations which suited my needs and plans for future. I was impressed by Signature team.

He was very thorough in his review, and explain along the way some of the things he was looking for.

System worked fine, until this week. They came out again. Waived service call fee. Needed new capacitor. Another $185. System is working again. Glad they could come out so soon!

Exemplary service from start to finish. AC stopped working on a Monday morning and was blowing air but not cooling. I spoke with a phone representative at 11:30 AM and he suggested I buy the $20 diagnostic deal through Angie's list which would save us $60 off the normal price of $89 for a service call. Even given how busy it must be for an HVAC company on a 90 degree day in June, we had a technician at our house by 3:00 PM. He quickly identified the issue being a faulty capacitor on the outdoor unit. He said he could replace at a cost of $185 or $158 if we wanted to sign up for a maintenance plan of $14/month. The maintenance plan includes two annual checkups (fall and spring) that would each be approximately $89, so I felt it was a good option and accepted. He also mentioned that they will proactively call to schedule those visits. The technician replaced the capacitor and was out the door by 3:30 PM. Sure, it was an easy fix, but it was quickly identified and remedied at a reasonable cost, which is what one always hopes for in these situations. I will strongly consider Signature when we replace our system as part of a huge renovation we have coming up. Total cost = $20 (diagnostic deal) + $158 (part replacement) + $14 (1st month of service plan) = $192.

Scott has been here a few times and he is excellent. He is polite, courteous, prompt, knowledgeable and always does a superior job. We can't say enough compliments about him. We trust him completely. He's the best.
