Overall it went very well. Mr. Layton came to my house on 7/16/12 to see what needed to be done. He came back on 7/17/12 to complete the job realizing he would need help to complete the job. He was very polite explaining everything he was going to do. Once the air conditioner was installed it was realized that I needed a new outlet and it was replaced. They went and purchased a new outletand when it was found out that my circuit breaker needed to be replaced they did that too. I was very please with the price. Mr. Layton was very honest and fair.

Quote for small kitchen remodel - received a quote for addition of a 2nd row of cabinet with glass doors above my first row of kitchen cabinets (would have to potentially make cabinets due to original manufacturer being a pain to deal with) - lighting and placement of electric for top cabinet lighting - ideas for granite companies - considered beadboard instead of tile backsplash - extension of drywall in soffit area I discussed with Glen ideas I had for this project to set up a general budget. I had also gotten quotes from a woodworker for cabinets, and one other party. Though i haven't decided to do the work at this time, Glen offered a lot of creative ideas and broke down the line items one by one for me. I liked how he offered different and creative suggestions while he was assessing the job. Will definitely conside Glen for the work if I decide to do it. "Emergency call" I had Glen's number from this previous estimate he had done for me for a small remodel. When I noticed some small bulging on my kitchen ceiling, i was concerned about water in the ceiling and what could be going on between floors? I am kind of a nervous nelly about mysterious house stuff! I phoned Glen to leave a message in the early A.M. and he picked up. Since it was not an obvious emergency with cascading water, he agreed to stop out the next AM (saturday) to take a look. He came as planned and addressed my fears that it didn't seem necessary to cut into the ceiling and look further. He also was understanding that i was worried about it....but with his experience, he explained if something major was happening, the bulge would be much bigger and obvious with a much bigger stain. He suggested i draw a pencil line around the area on the ceiling and keep an eye on it. He measured the area downstairs and applied the trajectories to the upstairs (more likely laundry than bathroom) and told me to also keep an eye on the laundry drain (in case lint got in there...could clog it over time and would require a snaking.) He also checked the toilet which seemed loose so he quickly tightened it. I was so glad Glen committed to coming out, to reduce my fear about what might be going on. In these situations you want someone you can trust, because he obviously is not the type to use any kind of "scare" tactic or create any kind of unecessary work...like "we have to cut into the ceiling" ..he had my interests in mind.

eThe technician was courteous and efficient. He inspected and cleaned our chimney and left the area clean. There was a scheduling problem due to a computer glich but the company deducted $25 from the original estimate to compensate for the inconvenience which we experienced. Overall we were very well pleased with this service.

I called three different contractors for estimates. I did not choose Jack of All Trades to do the job, but I would consider using the company in the future.

Really great experience. Phone call was great! Even though it's Christmas week, they fit my appointment in before the holiday! The appointment went off on time, work space was covered for protection from dirt, Glen wore shoe covers while in the house, space was left absolutely clean and Glen gave me some good information about my fireplace before he left! All in all it was really a pleasure! Will definitely call them in again after we use up our next cord of wood. Thanks!

Overall, very flexible. I had additional things come up over the course of repair and he took care of them and went above an beyond. Keep the work areas clean I have no complaints whatsoever.

I have had him here a couple of times. He has done masonry work for me as well. He is definitely on time and his quote is accurate. He either does the work himself or brings a helper that he has subcontracted out and so, I really like that.

They did what I expected them to do. I might use them.

Contacted them to repair a ceiling damaged from a roof leak. They were not able to do the work for a few weeks, but we went ahead and booked them since it was not an emergency. They had coordinated the scheduling through our tenant and showed up as schedule. They repaired the drywall and painted the ceiling. The work was satisfactory although a bit more expensive than I had expected.

I had a piece of siding come off the house in a windstorm, about 12 inches by 24 inches. It seemingly flew away. The man came to the house and tacked a piece of Tyvek over the exposed wood, which took approximately 15 minutes. I subsequently found the siding on my lawn, undamaged. He came back a couple of days later, I gave him the old siding and he nailed it back in place, which also took about 15-20 minutes. Maybe I am cheap, but almost $200. for approximately 40-45 minutes of his time seems a bit high to me. Thank you.

I ended up not using him but he was professional and very good. He was nice, but just a little more pricey than others I talked with. My dealings with him were very good. He got back to me pretty quickly with an estimate by email. I was happy with him, but I ended up using a company I had already used in the past. I will have him quote other projects in the future.

Contractor arrived on time and got right to work. Since both the gutter and downspout were new in the last year, they went to great lengths to save the existing. The wood underneath was rotted and had to be replaced and then the gutter re-hung. It was not an easy job but it looks just fine. This is a small condo complex and we don't have a lot of money, so I was happy that the price was reasonalb.e

I ended up having to postpone the work due to other house-repairs being more urgent, but the estimate was very reasonable. I have had problems in the past where other companies make appointments then never show, so I was impressed that he showed up and was on time! Very pleasant to deal with, too, when I am ready to get the work done, I intend to use this company.

Went with a number of other AL estimates, and came up with this group at the end of the day. A great mix of responsiveness and personal expertise, which helps out so much with this kind of thing. Had initial estimate with some recommendations, and settled upon a final product. 3 days for all activities to take place. Even came back around to correct some final bits and pieces that I'd consider more "finishing details" than work that was actually described. Overall, a really excellent experience; couldn't ask for more.

For the estimate, he showed up a few minutes early, even though there was heavy snow coming down. He brought all his own tools, from the ladder to the flashlight. He found several issues, and provided a detailed quote for all of the potential services. He provided several options for the quality of materials so that I could choose the one that suited me best. On the day of the install, he arrived on time, and got right to work. He checked with me to make sure that my cat was safely locked in a separate room with food, water and litter. I left for work, and when I came home, I had a working, properly vented dryer, new insulation, and a basement that would be safe for my cat. He locked the house when he was done, and left me a detailed bill and payment information. The entire process, from estimate to repair, took less than a week. It was a great experience - I have recommended Glenn to several co-workers and friends, and will absolutely use him again.

Jack of All trades is a true "professional" from start to finish. After having a number of "no shows", it was a pleasure to have someone who really understands the problem and fixes it quickly. When completed, they cleaned up everything before they left. If I need any type of house repairs I will definitely use them again!

I had granite countertops put in. So, he redid the plumbing for the sink. He charges $75 an hour. He is reliable and honest. He brings another person with him, who is also very honest and very nice. He is perfectionist. He solves the problem instead of just walking away when he cannot figure it out. He is not cheap, but he is worth it because he does a good job. He has done a few things for me till now. I would recommend him highly. He is very punctual. The only problem is his price, which is a little high. I will use his services again in the future. I will not use anybody else now.

They showed up Monday, January 17th right on time and started in to demolishing the existing porch. They then set to putting in new pressure treated joists, flooring, railings and bottom enclosure. The work took two days, but they did a fabulous job and I would use them again and recomend them to anyone who asked.

It was my first experience with them, and they were good. They were very responsive. They were affordable and prompt. I would recommend them, as I had another quote which was $1600 more than Jack Of All Trades, Inc; but Jack Of All Trades was very reasonable. I will use them again in the future.

I called Jack of All Trades for a quote to repair wood molding along the roof. The wood had broken off at a point, leaving a gap under the roof edge that birds decided to use for a home. Glen came out a couple of days later to look at the job and gave me a very fair quote to replace and repaint the molding. My only concern was that the molding was original to the house, which is about 100 years old so I knew it would be difficult to match. Glen came to do the work a couple of weeks later and had brought two different styles of molding to consider. He stated, and I agreed, that neither really matched the existing style so we decided not to use them. Instead, Glen was able to repair the existing mold as most of it was still in good shape. He patched the hole and repainted the molding to match the existing paint. I couldn't even tell any work had been done because the job looked perfect when complete. Glen and his crew are really pleasant to work with and extremely professional. He provides written estimates, does what he promises and keeps to a schedule. I highly recommend Glen, and I have already hired him for another job.

Fine, they were prompt, did the work we asked and finished in a timely manner. They were quite responsive, too. Whereas other handymen came out but never called back, they came out and did the work right then.

They did a great job. I know the guy so I?m a little biased. They were clean and neat, they gave us an estimate ahead of time, and they did good work and they did it efficiently. Once they started, they were done very quickly and the product is great. We are very happy with our sump pump.
