He did a really great job! Handcrafted wooden shelves were great quality placed in our garage and basement. He was efficient, knowledgeable, and reasonable. Prompt follow up after we contacted him and timely work. We also had some smaller jobs done: hanging living room chandelier and some other items. Perfect job with these items and again quick and efficient. I am thrilled with the results and will definitely be using him again. Its hard to find an efficient, knowledgeable, experienced, reliable and reasonable handyman these days...Silvio is it!

I had kitchen ceiling drywall damage due to a roof leak during hurricane sandy. I had several estimates, which were significantly more costly because of the recommended repairs. They all recommended replacing a 8ft x 4ft section of drywall. Some of these service people didn't even come to the house, but rather gave me an estimate over the phone.I contacted Silvio from Angies list. He was very responsive and came over the next day (on a Sunday) to look at the damage & repair needed. Silvio said he could just patch the ceiling damage, instead of replace it. I was hesitant, at first, about this. But, he said if I wasn't satisfied with this, he would apply the cost towards the cost of replacing the drywall. I thought that was very fair. It made sense to start with the simplest and cheapest fix first, then do the more complex/more expensive second...if it doesn't work out. When I called Silvio back to offer him the job, he was able to do the job quickly. Silvio was able to repair the damage without replacing the drywall. He was able to patch it, even in sections that was bowed (dryway was not soft). His work came out excellent! He was able to patch the area's in an economical, acceptable way. Now, you cannot tell the ceiling was damaged. Silvo saved me from spending money unnecessarily and what would have been a messy job. He is very good with spackling, so very little sanding was needed. He also spackled several "dimples" in the kitchen and family room for no additional cost. He is also very curtious, personable, and professional. I would hire him again and would recommend him to a family member or friend.

GREAT! I sent an email w/ the dims & info and Silvio called back withing 1 hr. He had the best price and was available that weekend because he had a break between jobs. He showed up on time and had all the molding up within 2hrs. Very professional. It looks awesome.

A long delayed window scraping and painting revealed that our lower window sills were completely rotten (previous owners had camouflaged the problem) and with a vacation rapidly approaching, we contacted Mr Cifa, who called us back promptly. He came out that same evening and emailed an estimate later that night. He had several other jobs lined up but promised to complete the task while we were away. We returned and were very pleased with the result. We had been worried that it would be difficult to find someone to complete such a small job - but no! He is very highly recommended.

He performed the work over 2 days, just like he said. Dust was minimal and he cleaned up what little there was.

He was really very good and knowledable, took his time to explain our issues and possible fixes, clear when he did not believe he could do certain type of work (replace our toilets for example). We were very happy with him. His estimate seemed higher than we expected (but we have not used handymen in past so not sure). It caused me to re a**** my laziness and work on some of the items myself, which I am in process of doing, so we did not hire Silvo, but he is highly recommended (at least as to estimate and professionalism, etc.).

Home Repair Service patched and repaired all the drywall that was torn down due to plumbing and a structural remodel . He did a very good job and I am pleased with his work.

This experience went very well. Silivo arrived on time and completed the job within the timeframe specified. We had asked for our Nordic Track to be disassembled, move to our new location, then reassembled. I had contacted the Nordic Track company and they said it would take 3 weeks to schedule a tech., Silvio responded to our call the same day and scheduled within the week. He also moved and reassembled it for the same price the Nordic Track tech would have charged just to take it apart. Oh, and each location had a flight of stairs to deal with as well. Considering that my husband lost a toenail trying to move it himself once, I decided it was better to hire a professional. Silvio also completed a few other jobs I had around the house. He fixed our shower door and popped out some screens that we were not aware were damaged until after we moved in. I would recommend Silvio to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy person who can get the job done. I will use him again.

Silvio did a great job! He was very responsive and punctual. I called him one morning and received a call back from him that afternoon. He scheduled a time for the following day to come in and provide an estimate. He emailed me the estimate that evening. Upon notifying him that I accepted the estimate, we scheduled a time to initiate the repairs for the following week. He came by, as scheduled, installed the drywall and even built an access panel in my bathroom (source of the water leak). He was very quick and I would not have known he was there! He returned two days later, as scheduled, and proceeded to sand and paint. Again, he was finished in no time and the outcome of his work was fantastic. His prices was very reasonable and he was a pleasure to work with! I am grateful to him for restoring my home in such a timely manner.

Silvio arrived as promised to give us an estimate of the work which surprised us as being very reasonable. He came on time and finished in 3 days the entire job. He dismantled the shelving, knocked out the adjoining closet wall, removed two closet doors-then put up drywall for one doorway and painted as needed. Silvio also refinished our basement after it was flooded in October 2010. his work was well done and in a timely manner all the drywall and painting made our basement look as it was before the flooding! We would certainly recommend Silvio to anyone!

Responded to my email request with a phone call within minutes, we scheduled an estimate - he was honest and upfront with everything. We scheduled the work, he was very flexible around my schedule. Work was completed as planned, quality was excellent.

Getting a handyman is like buying a used car because it scares me. He was actually good because my status for handymen is lower. As long as they don't steal from me and they basically do the job I am reasonably happy. He was nice, polite and professional. His prices were okay. He was a super nice guy. I'm unsure if I would use him again. I would like to find somebody with a little better quality.

I can't say enough good things about Silvio's work. He shows up early, and leave on time. He went the extra mile and fixed some other areas while he was at it. He is very professional and clearly knows what he is doing. I feel confident giving Silvio additional work.

Silvio was awesome, we met only once, I showed him the deck and explained the work. He quickly gave me a plan and approximate cost, his estimate was very competative and within the price range that I expected. He also helped me get the permits from township and association, good part was he waited through entire process. Lot other contractors (~20 of them) were not keen on helping me through getting the permit process. Work was done Surgically and professionally without any disturbance to us or neighbours. Two thumbs up to Silvio if you have deck/porch related work.

They came in about twice what the insurance company said was normal. The adjuster said to find another contractor because they were way overpriced. The interaction we had with them was fine. They were responsive. Their price was very high priced and I don’t know if I would contact them again because I have normal walls that are nothing spectacular.

For the dryer vent, one service mentioned if there was a plastic part, that their brushes could damage it. I wanted to have a handyman come out and look at the existing hookup (which goes through the walls ending up in a PVC pipe that exits the home (exposed ceiling)" to see if there were any red flags. Silvio returned my call quickly and was able to come out on a day, early, before i had to leave for work.He checked out the dryer vent situation, and told me it looked o.k. He also checked out the windows and it wasn't something he could do.I appreciated his honesty in assessing the 2 jobs (a dishonest person could have said the job needed to be done and named a price) I will definitely contact silvio for future needs. He also did not charge me for coming out. When he left his tape measure and I phoned him about it, he happily said "It's now for you" how nice!

Silvio is a true professional - he quickly scheduled and performed the drywall ceiling repair I needed done. His price was very reasonable and the work was well done. I would definitely recommend to him to others and use his services again.

I located Silvio through Angie's List. He did similar work for another member. The reply to my phone call and the visit for an estimate went very quickly. He came back a couple days later with the materials he needed. The work was completed quickly and professionally. Good job.

I found him on Angies List. The handyman’s name is Silvio Cifa and his is a one-man operation. He is just very professional and so prompt. He is very polite. He is great. He charged exactly what he said he would charge. I just appreciated everything he did and that is why we called him back. He did a great job. There are some other things that we are going to have him work on.

I had just signed up with angies list because we could not find anyone to take on the task of repairing our damaged wood. We had called other contractors and they came out and gave us a very high estimate and admitted that they really did not want to do the job. Another contractor came out , looked around and said he would have an estimate by the end of the next week.I waited for 2 weeks and called him. His helper said he was busy and to call back. I did so - twice- and he never returned my calls. While i was signing up with angies list the helpful person there guided me through the process of how to look up contractors, carpenters etc. Silvio had a nearby town address so I called and left a message. Within 5 minutes he called back and told me he was going to be nearby that very afternoon. Not only did he show up within 45 minutes but we went all around the house inspecting all the windows and doors. That same evening I received a very professional estimate via email and when I called to schedule a time to start he said he actually had a morning open two days later to get started. Not only did he get started but almost finished the whole project. He is very efficient and thorough there were even a couple of extra things that I had not noticed which he just fixed while he had his equipment and tools here. He returned as promised the following week and finished up the few damaged places that were left. We are very very pleased with the quality of his work.
