Our dishwasher was not rinsing properly. We were unable to find a local appliance repair person who serviced Bosch dishwashers. We called Golden Rule Plumbing because they had done excellent work for us several times in the past. Our call was answered by a live person. The plumber Chris came to our house within an hour of our call. He cleaned and corrected some issues with the drain/drain line for the dishwasher. This seems to have solved the problem. Chris was polite and knowledgeable. The charge was very reasonable. Very satisfied. Highly recommend Golden Rule Plumbing.

Everyone I have dealt with at Golden Rule provide outstanding service. They respond quickly, are always courteous and professional and try to fix problems in a cost effective manner. I have used them several times now and have always been very pleased with the service. I highly recommend them.

I would like to know how all the people giving rave reviews were able to get service. I tried calling multiple times during two different periods (March and May, 2012), and all I ever got was a nice voice mail message. Both times I left messages, Neither time was i even called back.

They arrived on time and replaced a water shut off valve that cracked. They did an excellent job at a reasonable cost.

We were able to schedule an appointment with just a few days' notice - which was critical, because we had to fix the leak before putting our house on the market! Mike arrived promptly at the scheduled time and didn't seem too fazed by the leak. He excavated some of the concrete around the pipe (where it went into the foundation wall in our unfinished basement), and cleaned up the mess of water and concrete debris. After letting the hole dry overnight, he returned in the morning to fill the hole with spray foam. Since he was there, I also asked him to take a look at our "shrieking" kitchen faucet, which he quickly diagnosed as an unnecessary flow restrictor. His work was quick, efficient, and effective!

Called on Saturday came on Monday. They were professional, careful and clean.

They replaced a part in the faucet to repair it . It went well. They showed uup on time and were professional. Their price was reasonable.

This was one of the most positive experiences I have ever had with respect to plumbing services! Chris was extremely understanding, responsive, friendly, professional and service oriented. Upon arriving he assessed the situation; recommended what needed to be done to resolve the problems; and got to work. Because of the location of the work he contacted his colleague Rob who came with the necessary parts and additional manpower to get the job done. The two of them worked efficiently to get everything fixed in less than 2 hours and they did an excellent job! I have already referred them and will certainly call them again should a need arise!

Called today, a Sunday and left a message and Tim called me back promptly. He was at my house within a 1/2 hour. He was polite and very knowledgeable. Took a look at the toilet and explained what he needed to do. He did the repair quickly and without any hassle. Price was great. Will definitely use them again for my next plumbing need.

I called Golden Rule Plumbing after I had two sections of pipe burst due to freezing. They were able to come out the same day. Tim and Tim showed up at the time they stated, replaced the damage sections of pipe and got my water back on. I was very satisfied with their service. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

I received an estimate over the phone which made me a bit nervous, especially when another plumber we were considering came out and said the work would take a full day plus to complete. Golden Rule said we will have the work done in a few hours and they were true to their estimate on both the time and cost. Everything works great. We are very satisfied with the whole experience and will call Golden Rule again when we need help with plumbing.

since we purchased our home in July, this is the 5th time they have been to the house to clear pipes and fix leaks. They are always punctual, professional and they clean up after themselves. This last time they had to replace a 20 ft section of pipe. The estimate they gave was exactly on target and the job was completed in a few hours. They are great to work with and I would recommend them.

A Grohe shower valve, which is somewhat complex, had seized up and was only allowing cold water to the shower head. Tim took the valve apart and made the needed adjustments to get it working again. I am completely satisfied and will have him back when spring comes along to fix an outdoor water line. Price very reasonable.

Turned on a seldom used bar sink and the faucet wouldn't stop dripping. Tried turning off the supply line valve underneath to stop the water, but then that started dripping too. Grabbed a bucket. Spent a couple days tracking down a new bar faucet since the existing one was a 20 years old builders grade model. Looked up on Angie's List for local plumbing firms and found a coupon for Golden Rule Plumbing for $25 off 1st service call. (They were very highly rated and had received a number of Super Service Awards over the years.) Called them and left a message on their voice mail system. About an hour later I received a callback from Tim apologizing for the delay in getting back to me. Told him about the problem, which I'm sure is fairly common. He gave me a estimate of what it would cost. Got appointment for 8:30-9 am the next morning which was great. Chris arrived a little late due to poor winter weather conditions and accidents on his way to our home. He apologized. Chris was professional and considerate. He took off his shoes upon entering our home, brought in his tools along with a rag for wiping up water drips (I've had other service providers asking for an old towel when they needed to clean up) and took away our old faucet after replacing it with the new one. He explained what the problem was with the leaking valve and how in the future I could try tightening the nut gently to stop the leak at the valve. He also suggested that we periodically run seldom used faucets to avoid the problem that we had. After he finished with the bar sink I asked him about what would be involved with replacing the 20+ year old main water shut-off valves to make them workable. Right now they are the type that turn and I've heard the lever type is much better and less prone to leaking. He was knowledgeable and provided a recommended solution and approximate cost to be considered at a later date.

I contacted Golden Rule Plumbing on a weekend through the "contact provider" link on here. They responded almost immediately with an approximate quote. I then followed up with a phone call, and we were able to schedule service for the next day. They were on time and extremely professional!! A previous plumber (not from Golden Rule) had told us that our garbage disposal was beyond repair and that we needed a new one, and that it would be $300 to install (CRAZY) and that the problem with our toilet was probably electrical (ALSO CRAZY). Golden rule was able to fix our garbage disposal and the toilet in about 1 1/2 hours! We were very pleased with their service and price. We will definitely use them again.

Tim was very prompt and professional. I had been shopping for a water pressure booster pump for a while and not too many plumbers had ever installed them. I was impressed that Tim knew of the brand I had researched and had recently installed one in another home. He provided me with a very fair estimate, and in fact, when I mentioned I had found him on Angie's list, gave me a little discount. He was not the one who installed the pump, but the plumber he sent out (another Tim) was equally prompt and professional. He did a great job, and cleaned up nicely when he was finished. We are very happy with the pump and are very happy to finally have good water pressure in our home again. I would definitely use them again, and I would highly recommend Golden Rule Plumbing.

Faucet began to leak on Thanksgiving Day. Sent an email through Angie's List on Thanksgiving and received a response! Never imagined that I would get a response on a holiday. I was hoping that it would be received 1st thing Friday morning. Tim asked about the problem and suggested I call Kohler directly to get the parts as the faucet has a lifetime warranty. This saved me $$$ on the repair. A different Tim arrived on schedule and repaired the faucet. He even took it apart and re-installed so that it would be more secure.

I have used this company before for a shower leak. They are always responsive, not a long wait, act very professionally in the house. there was a minor mistake in his installation the first go around... I called with the realization at 7pm that night. He immediately knew what was wrong (he missed a step after the distraction of the faulty switch), came first thing the next day, problem fixed at no extra charge. So glad to have found a reliable, professional group that has integrity in West Chester PA. We have had some unpleasant and questionable service from another (larger) company in our area thus definitely staying with Golden Rule

Tim is an extremely professional man in whom we have great confidence. In estimating future projects, he gave us things to consider that we had not thought of, and "knew his stuff" completely. We would not hesitate to use him again, even though we felt his prices seemed a little on the high side. In all fairness, we don't know for sure if they are because after meeting him, we knew we wanted to use him!

Another great experience with Golden Rule. Had Chris in to install a toilet and faucet ,while here he diagnosed the constant no/low water pressure problem I've been having - the taps would suddenly dry up and only an on/off of the main would restore flow. After metering the flow at the outside tap, he figured out the PRV was faulty. He found he had a replacement with him and swapped out the bad valve. I now have great pressure and no loss of water. The toilet and faucet install were flawless , clean and no leaks. Plus ,Chris did not seem to mind if I observed the work being done - he was quite affable and had some fun plumbing stories -who knew? The cost was right on budget and I feel reasonable for the work. You cannot go go wrong using Golden Rule.

In April, I found that my shower pan in the master bathroom shower had started to leak and damage our living room ceiling. Luckily we do have a second bathroom. Quickly we decided to take our time and research tile, faucets, plumbing, sinks, etc. During July and August we acquired all of the tile, high end faucets, and a pedestal sink from various establishments. We also arranged for 3 different estimates. Luckily, in early July, I found Golden Rule Plumbing right here on Angie's List, read all of the reviews and was impressed. I called Tim and he came to my house within 2 days and 24 hours later he sent me a very detailed list of the work to be done and a very reasonable quote. Within a week, I called Tim and scheduled the start. I really didn't know what to expect. On the scheduled demolition day, Tim arrived at 8:30am along with the other Tim and Bob in tow. What really impressed me was the care and respect for my house. They covered the upstairs hallway carpet with a plastic runner to protect the carpet and put tarps on the stairs and entry way floor. The entire job took a total of 4 weeks, but my wife and I couldn't be happier with professionalism and craftsmanship that they provided. We are thrilled with the new bathroom and would recommend Golden Rule Plumbing without any reservations. A big thank you to Tim and the gang (Tim, Tim, Bob, Mike, Chris and Ray).

We never got a callback, so conclude that they must suffer from one or more of the following maladies: *Forgetfulness -- forgot to tell the boss to call us back. *Not interested in giving estimates. *Company has poor internal communications. *Despite saying they service New Castle County, DE, they really don't want to, even though we're only ~150 yds. south of the PA line. It's entirely possible that this was a one-time occurrence, but we were not willing to gamble on using them given their inability to contact people who call them.
